Director Dan Trachtenberg Exits Uncharted Movie from Sony’s PlayStation Productions
Deadline is reporting that Dan Trachtenberg (The Boys, 10 Cloverfield Lane) will no longer be directing Sony Pictures’ film adaptation of the PlayStation game Uncharted. The studio is seeking out a new filmmaker by the end of summer. Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Far From Home) is still attached to star as a young Nathan Drake in the PlayStation Productions feature.

Uncharted will be a prequel to the game series, taking its basis from the sequence in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception wherein the young thief first encounters his partner Victor Sullivan and in essence, sets up the events of the entire game franchise.
Despite previous drafts by the likes of Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty), Oscar nominee David O. Russell, Doctor Strange‘s Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer, Safe House‘s David Guggenheim, and Joe Carnahan, this new version of the film will bring on a new writer to rework the new-found premise.
Based on the action-adventure video game Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune from Naughty Dog and Sony Interactive, the story follows a descendant of explorer Sir Francis Drake, a treasure hunter named Nate Drake who believes he has learned the whereabouts of El Dorado, the fabled South American golden city, from a cursed golden statue. The search becomes competitive when a rival hunter joins the fray, then is escalated when creatures — actually mutated descendants of Spaniards and Nazis — begin attacking those hoping to learn the treasure’s true secrets.

GAME OF THRONES Director Matt Shakman is in Talks To Direct One of Marvel’s Disney+ Shows
Marvel has got several Disney+ shows in development and according to a recent report from Discussing Film, they are in talks with director Matt Shakman to direct one of them. Shankman has done a ton of directing work on some great TV shows such as Game of Thrones, Mad Men, Fargo, Six Feet Under, Revenge, Psych, It’s Always Sunny, Billions, and The Boys.
There’s no information on which series he will be taking on, but the report speculates that it could either be WandaVision of Loki because they are currently deep in pre-production and Marvel is ready to pull the trigger on one of them and shoot it into production. The other shows that Marvel is working on are Falcon and The Winter Solider and Hawkeye.
It’s said that the studio is looking to start shooting Loki in late January. The series will “focus on the version of Loki that escaped during the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, the story will show this version of Loki as he travels across time and becomes an unlikely influencer of historical events.” Tom Hiddleston will reprise the role and Michael Waldron will be the showrunner.
Wandavision is looking to begin filming in the coming weeks. The series will focus on “Scarlet Witch following the aftermath of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, sources say that the series will focus on her reality altering powers which may explain how Vision is featured in the series.” Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany will reprise their roles and they will be joined by Teyonah Parris who plays an older version of Monica Rambeau from Captain Marvel.
Joker, Spawn, Terminator and More Coming To MORTAL KOMBAT 11 in The Kombat Pack
Mortal Kombat 11 has finally revealed the full roster of DLC characters available in the Kombat Pack and there were a few big surprises in it. In the trailer that reveals the characters, we start with seeing Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, and then Sindel. These are three MK characters fan will recognize and love.
Then, we get to the surprises. First, it was revealed that Spawn was entering the game. That’s pretty awesome. However, then we see the Joker appear and I just about lost it. I’m not a big fan of this design for the Joker, but it’s still really cool.
Finally, Terminator T-800 showed up and I had no words. He looked amazing! Shang Tsung and Nightwolf are available now with T-800 coming October 8, Sindel on November 26, Joker on January 28, and Spawn on March 17. Mortal Kombat 11 is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One now.
