Disney is bringing one of its most successful series ever back to TV on its new streaming service, Disney+! Star of the series Hilary Duff is set to reprise her role, with the original creator for the series, Terri Minsky, returning to head up the reboot. Deadline reports the following description of the series that will put a new spin on the old formula for the hit show:

In the reimagined version of the sitcom, a sequel to the 2001 Disney Channel series, Lizzie McGuire (Duff) is a 30-year-old millennial navigating life in New York City. Like the original series, it will include the familiar animated version of a young Lizzie who offers up funny, revealing commentary on what 30-year-old Lizzie is really thinking.

The report says that while we have seen Duff as a series regular on the series Younger, this new job will not disrupt her other role. They state, “Under a waiver granted by TV Land/Viacom, Duff will be able to do both Younger and Lizzie McGuire.

So that’s great for fans of both series. It has not yet been reported which of the other series originals will be back for the update, but information will roll out soon now that the news is out. Check out Duff’s Instagram announcement below, and let us know if you’re a fan from way back who is so excited for this reboot.

The 10 Best Instrumental Movie Scores

The 10 best instrumental movie scores

Comingsoon.net is learning to read sheet music in an attempt to choose the best movie scores in film history. Check out our selections in the gallery below!

Easily one of the most under-appreciated components of a feature film is its instrumental score. Responsible for setting the tone, the mood, or the feelings the filmmakers wish for the viewer to feel, a movie’s score is one of the most artistic elements of a feature—even in the most corporate big-budget films. It’s astounding just how much impact these scores have on the viewer and how little appreciation they receive in return.

Take a movie without a score, for example: the filmmakers and the actors and the rest of crew have a lot more work to do when it comes to setting the tone of the film. Going scoreless is undoubtedly an artistic choice, but the decision to include an expertly-crafted score is equally as artistic. These ten scores just barely scratch the surface of the true power of instrumental movie scores.

D23 Expo 2019: Inspiring Women Behind Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge

D23 Expo 2019 had so many unique opportunities to hear from all the perspectives that go into making your favorite stories come to life. This weekend we heard from women who were involved in the ongoing world building of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Panelists included Catherine Powell (President of Disney Parks Western Region), Kria Theiler (Vice President of Disneyland), Carrie beck (Lucasfilm Live-Action and Peoduction), Robin Reardon (Walt Disney Imagineering PortfolionExec Producer), Margaret Kerrison (Managing Story Editor, Walt Disney Imagineering), and Anisha Deahmane (Assistant Producer, Walt Disney Imagineering).

Find out some great Easter Eggs about the making of Galaxy’s Edge and some great new details about the future!

  • “So much is about creating a culture of a place” that still feels a part of the Star Wars universe. “You’re the point of view character” shared Lucasfilm’s Carrie Beck as the core of creating the narrative of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
  • They wanted to capture the bucket list of Star Wars DNA of what is essential from past and future. “On the other shows and films no matter how much is known we try to be flexible” and stressed that they try to integrate in concert with the films elements as surprises as time goes on.
  • Anisha Deshmane, assistant director in Imagineering, talked about the Data Pad experience as something they wanted to bring to life ways to take on a role through customization on the app and learning about the society on every level. “I got this Cantina gossip. I needed people to know this gossip in the land.” She said about including backstory for Oga who got into a shoot out with her lover who was caught with another.
  • EASTER EGG MISSION REVEAL: Guests can look for a piece of DJR3X’s memory on the data pad experience in Oga’s cantina.
  • Discussions about attention to detail centered around things like are shoe laces real in space.
  • Cast is encouraged to create their backstory to be a part of the Batuu lore.
  • Citizens of Batuu dont live in the Black Spire Outpost, they commute there to work. They can be from 3 different areas to create different backgrounds like if they have creature guests, if they’re from a village of River folk. It’s a living community.
  • Kris Theiler, vice president of Disneyland, encourages women who want to work in operations, “it’s a supportive environment. My function is to keep that and it’s a big focus.” She said about the female leaders that cane before and looking to the parks future to help other women. “Our slogan is we work while others play. There’s flexibility within that. We like to find the times that work with people in their lives. We want to keep women in operations and have a family.”
  • Robin Reardon, Disney Parks West president, “imagineering is interesting because we are part design team and construction team” the key is collaboration and bringing to the table your skillset while respecting and listening to others with different skill sets.
  • The Women of the Star Wars Universe inspire the land in many ways, “Its important to have diversity from all points of view and exploring territory that has not been covered already.” Shared Carrie Beck. Not only with women but just including a diversity of characters no matter the gender or species of droid type.
  • Margaret Carrison, story editors imagineering, “You have the opportunity to choose from a whole plethora of characters.” Not only that but even some guests create their own Black Outpost characters. “You’re inspired to be the spark to make a mark in the galaxy”
  • “The land itself works like a Back Lot” Beck revealed a point of pride at how families have gone and shot their own stories of being part of Batuu.
  • “We want to make it as current as we possibly can” Deshmane shared. Anything from items and stories from the films and streaming shows will be seen but u fokd along the way.
  • “There’s a storyline for every land. We are in the process of doing that for every land.” They want to have a version of “Bright Suns” for another area and make it authentic for the entire park. Imagine being a princess in Fantasyland of your own neighboring Kingdom and not just dressing up as a canon Disney Princess.
  • The Halcyon is “All Star Wars, all the time. It’s a new form of a multi-day experience.”
  • The team wants to surprise guests and themselves and see how they can evolve. “Writing your own story is really fun– to be able to have that fodder to build their experience”
  • The Digital aspect of Disney Play will be where we see the latest parts of the story unfold quickly. “This is the first time we see it be part of the experience and push the rest of the story to be something new and unique. We are going to start to see that become integral of the experience.” Anisha Deshmane pointed out about the digital integration. It’s a shared experience “It’s for everyone. People who want to float on the surface level or dive in.” It has the capabilities to invite you to look up, search for things and ask questions while visiting while not feeling obligated. Theres something for everyone.

GLOW Season 3 Episode 8 Recap

GLOW Season 3 Episode 8 Recap

GLOW Season 3 Episode 8 Recap

In the previous episode of Netflix’s GLOW, a studio was interested in making Justine’s movie, and Debbie went out with a rich rancher whom she called Tex. In GLOW Season 3 Episode 8, Ruth questioned her career choices, and Bash and Rhonda had a proposal for Sandy.

True West

Ruth felt the monotony of performing the same show day after day. GLOW had just completed its 200th. Russell called to tell her that he got a job working in Spain. He thought she was breaking up with him. Sheila asked Ruth if she wanted to run lines with her. She was performing a scene from True West for Bobby’s AIDS charity event. After going through the scene, Ruth was blown away by Sheila’s acting and negatively compared herself to Sheila.

Debbie ran into Ruth in the hallway and asked Ruth to come with her. Tex had bought Debbie a horse, and she was checking it out. Ruth expressed her acting insecurities to Debbie. She wondered what it would be like if she and Debbie went back to LA and performed a play together. Debbie wasn’t interested. She was happy with what she was doing now. Ruth went home by herself. She stopped at a psychic’s trailer for a reading. She wanted to know if she was wasting her life. When Ruth got back to the hotel, she listened to a message from Sam. He asked her to play a part in Justine’s movie.

Ruth’s conversation with Debbie stirred her into action. Since GLOW was practically running on autopilot she needed something to produce. Debbie offered to produce Bobby’s charity event for free.

GLOW Season 3 Episode 8 Recap

The casino manager, Al, asked Cherry to come to his office. She owed the casino $5,000. Because she was a performer, he gave her a week to get the money. Carmen saw Cherry sneaking out in a disguise. She was going to mud-wrestle for the money. Carmen volunteered to wrestle with her. At least, Cherry would be wrestling with someone who knew what she was doing.

Rhapsody in the 80s

GLOW Season 3 Episode 8 Recap

Bash and Rhonda would be producing Rhapsody. With the influx of money, Sandy wanted to introduce a new part of the show highlighting Old Hollywood. Bash had his own ideas. He wanted to add “BMX babes” to the show to bring it into the 80s. When Sandy proposed updating the music as a compromise, Rhonda and Bash were straight with her. Ticket sales have gone down, and people weren’t coming to see Rhapsody anymore. If they didn’t modernize the show, Rhapsody wouldn’t be a good investment for them.

Daisy Ridley and THE RISE OF SKYWALKER Cast Comments on Rey’s Dark Character Turn

This weekend at D23 there was some crazy exciting new footage that was shared for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. That footage revealed a shocking drastic dark turn of a character. That character was Daisy Ridley’s Rey. That footage was recently released online and as you saw, she was all decked out in a black robe wielding a double-edge lightsaber and looking evil as hell.

A lot of fans think that this isn’t what it seems to be. I’m not convinced it’s just a vision of sorts, though. I think there’s more to it than that, and I have a theory that I’ve shared in this post.

After the footage was screen the cast of the film commented on this aspect of the film that was revealed. Ridley talked to CinemaBlend saying:

“I went to Bad Robot yesterday and I was like, ‘Hey, can I see the teaser’? They were like, ‘Yeah, yeah.’ No warning. And I watch, and went [inhales deeply] ‘Oh my god, are you really putting that in there?’ That was my reaction. And then watching it today, it was weird because I felt nervous with it coming because I knew it was going to be. And then hearing the audience reaction was amazing.”

In a separate interview with IGN she added:

“I think that it should hopefully show people that we did a big old journey and we explored some things. So just you wait until the film.”

I’m really excited to see how this comes about and how it fits in with the context of the story. But if Rey goes evil… I’m all for it! Kelly Marie Tran, who is reprising her role as Rose Tico in the film added:

“I think the most important thing to take from that whole snippet is just that the ending of this whole film is going to be really, really groundbreaking, in a good way. I think there are a lot of little pieces from the older films and everyone’s together in this one. We’re gonna go out with a bang.”

A groundbreaking ending, huh… well, it’ll be awesome to see what that actually ends up being! Franchise newcomer Naomi Ackie also said that the film serves as a fitting conclusion and that she cried when she read the script:

“When I had the privilege of reading the script, I cried. I think it reaches and tries to ask a question that we need to answer in ourselves. I’m super excited for people to see that.”

One of the other big questions on peoples minds is how is Plapatine going to play into the story? How does he come back? There’s been a theory going around of possession. So here’s my theory on Rey… if that’s true, what if the spirit of Palpatine ends up possessing Rey and that’s why she goes bad?

When asked about Palpatine, Ridley explains that there’s a reason he’s back:

“He’s the biggest baddie in Star Wars history. Now that we’ve done the story, I’m like, it couldn’t have happened any other way. It had to be that. But he’s very instrumental to the plot of the film. It’s not just like he appears again; it’s all explained.”

Well, we’re just going to have to be patient and wait and see what happens when the movie is released.

After a huge weekend of Star Wars, and the rest of Disney’s many properties at the D23 Expo this weekend in Anaheim, CA, we’re still getting little reveals about what we can expect with the ninth and final installment of the Skywalker Saga with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker this December.

Over the weekend, the official Star Wars Twitter account posted an image of the Jet Trooper from the upcoming film, a new class of white-armored Stormtroopers who may (or may not) be better shots than their grounded counterparts.

Returning cast members for Rise of Skywalker include Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo and Billie Lourd. Joining the cast are Naomi Ackie (Doctor Who), Richard E. Grant (Logan), Dominic Monaghan (Lord of the Rings), Matt Smith (Doctor Who) and Keri Russell (The Americans), who will also be joined by veteran Star Wars actors Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels and Billy Dee Williams, who will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian.

WandaVision Concept Art Reveals Wholesome Home Life

WandaVision Concept Art Reveals Wholesome Home Life

WandaVision Concept Art Reveals Wholesome Home Life

After the D23 Expo this weekend in Anaheim, CA, we have a better idea of what we’re in for with WandaVision, a new limited series that will air exclusively on Disney+. It was revealed during SDCC that the events of the Doctor Strange sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, will lead to the events of Wanda Maximoff’s (Elizabeth Olsen) seemingly idyllic life with her robot husband, Vision (Paul Bettany).

Late Sunday night, Andy Parks, Marvel Studios Concept Artist and Director of Visual Development posted an image to Twitter of the show’s concept art, which shows a very Leave It to Beaver-style look, with the two titular characters enjoying some extraordinarily wholesome quality time in their living room. Of course, in the back, we see their superhero counterparts in the shadow, suggesting that there’s much more to this illusion than apple pie and white picket fences.

Scarlet Witch and Vision were last seen together in last summer’s blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War, though the duo parted on rather depressing terms. Scarlet Witch attempted, nay, destroyed the infinity stone inside Vision’s head, thus killing the man she loved. Except Thanos used the time stone in his gauntlet to undo her actions, which brought Vision back to life … but then he died again when Thanos removed the stone from his head and completed his quest to collect all the infinity stones. The infamous snap heard ’round the universe then effectively turned Scarlet Witch to ash.
