Netflix has released a first teaser trailer for its series adaptation of Charles Forsman’s superpower coming-of-age graphic novel I Am Not Okay With This. The series comes from the producers of Stranger Things and the director of The End of the F***ing World, Jonathan Entwistle. The series stars It actors Sophia Lillis and Wyatt Oleff.

I Am Not Okay With This is “an irreverent origin story that follows a teenage girl named Sydney, who’s navigating the trials and tribulations of high school, all while dealing with the complexities of her family, her budding sexuality, and mysterious superpowers just beginning to awaken deep within her. Though Sydney views herself as painfully average, she is far from it, as she discovers she has telekinetic powers which may prove to be problematic.”

Sophia Lillis takes on the role of Sydney, and Wyatt Oleff plays Stanley Barber. The cast for the series also includes Kathleen Rose Perkins (Episodes) as Maggie, Sofia Bryant (The Good Wife) as Dina, Aidan Wojtak-Hissong (Falling Water) as Liam, and Richard Ellis as Brad Lewis.

Black Mask Wants to Kill Harley Quinn in New Clip from DC’s BIRDS OF PREY

Warner Bros. has shared a new clip from DC’s Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). The scene shown features Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn tied to a chair, and Ewan McGregor’s Black Mask wanting to kill her. As he is about to watch her get killed, she makes a proposition that he’s interested in.

The film was recently met with a lot of praise from the critics who got to see an early screening of the film. A lot of people don’t trust these early reactions, but it would be nice if the film actually ended up being as good as they are saying it is. We’ll just have to wait and see when we watch it for ourselves.

The film comes from director Cathy Yan, and the movie also stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Canary, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, and Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya. Here’s the synopsis for the movie:

Since the events of Suicide Squad, Batman has disappeared, leaving Gotham City unprotected from crime, and Harley Quinn has left the Joker. When Cassandra Cain, a young girl, comes across a diamond belonging to crime lord Black Mask, Harley joins forces with Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to help protect her.

The movie will be released in theaters on February 7th, 2020.

Ron Howard Discusses The Advice George Lucas Gave Him Regarding STAR WARS Fandom

It was pretty awesome when the world of Star Wars was met with the incredible directing skills of Ron Howard, who we love for bringing us A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, Cinderella Man, Arrested Development, and now Solo: A Star Wars Story. And as the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, his daughter, actress Bryce Dallas Howard, has taken to directing as well, and actually directed an episode of the recent hit Disney+ series The Mandalorian.

But before she jumped blindly into the Star Wars universe, she made sure she was introduced to the world by shadowing her dad in his venture. In a recent interview with Collider, Ron Howard spoke about how he felt having his daughter around, and his reluctance at first:

“She’s not really a daughter, she’s a movie star. With a young cast feeling a lot of pressure on Solo, I wasn’t necessarily sure how comfortable everyone would [be] with Bryce around. But she convinced me to try it for a day or two, and of course everybody fell in love with her because she’s that kind of person. And it was great having her around, and she had a couple of pretty great suggestions.”

That’s so cool! How convenient to have a parent to help show you the ropes. But as Ron Howard had never made a Star Wars film previously, he needed some guidance as well, and he said he was able to get some great advice from the man himself, George Lucas. Howard said:

“George Lucas is a mentor, a tremendous friend. He warned me, and he said, ‘Hey look, it’s for the fans, and yet you have to have the courage to hear them but tell the story you wanna tell.’ So he’s all for the galaxy expanding and experimenting. That’s what he prefers the most. He gets most excited about those that wanna push the boundaries of what a Star Wars movie or TV show [can be].”

It’s great to have friends with such talent and expertise! I think Solo turned out to be a fantastic film, and I would be happy seeing either of the Howards direct a project in the Star Wars universe in the future.

Rick Moranis is Reportedly Considering Coming Out of Retirement For Disney’s HONEY I SHRUNK THE KIDS Sequel

rick-moranis-is-reportedly-considering-coming-out-of-retirement-for-disneys-honey-i-shrunk-the-kids-sequel

I’ve been hoping to see Rick Moranis make a surprise appearance in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, but I seriously doubt that will happen. But, do you know what he might actually show up in!? Disney’s upcoming Honey I Shrunk the Kids sequel, titled Shrunk.

According to The Disninsider, Rick Moranis is in early talks to come out of retirement to star in the film’s sequel. If he does, he would be reprising his role as Wayne Szalinski, the scientist who accidentally shrinks his kids along with the neighbor’s kids.

I would really love to see Moranis come out of retirement for a new film project. I’ve been a fan of the actor since I was a kid and seeing him in a new feature film project like this, to play one of his old classic characters, would be a real treat, so I hope this is true.

The story concept was originally pitched by Josh Gad, who will star in the film as Wayne’s grown-up son, Nick Szalinski. The new movie will exist in the same world as the other two films and continue the overall storyline. Adam follows in his father’s footsteps by not only becoming a scientist but also accidentally shrinking his children. Here are some additional story details:

Aware that the family ties have loosened over time but seemingly afraid to confront anyone directly. He has been tinkering alone in his attic for decades, dealing with the grief of losing his wife. When we first meet him, he has accidentally shrunk himself and is flying around on a shrunken drone — seemingly lost in a continuous of tinkering and experimenting that often puts himself and his family in jeopardy. He later reveals he shut himself away to try and invent a solution to help shrink Diane’s cancer but found it hard to cope when he ran out of time. His guilt and shame is palpable. Through the crisis of the kids getting shrunk, the truth emerges and the bonds begin to redevelop between him and his kids.

The film is set to start shooting in spring of 2020 in Toronto or Atlanta and the last we heard, the original film’s director Joe Johnston is going to helm the project. The film currently has no release date but the plan is to release it theatrically.

What do you think about Rick Moranis coming out of retirement for Shrunk? If this is true, I hope that it leads to more film projects!

Vision Battles and Kills a Very Different Looking Corvus Glaive in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Deleted Scene

Thanks to Marvel’s Infinity Box Set we have a new deleted scene to share with you from Avengers: Infinity War today. The scene features Paul Bettany‘s Vision battling Corvus Glaive, who is one of the members of Thanos’ Black Order.

Corvus Glave has a very different look here than the version of the character that ended up in the final film. It also shows Vision killing him off by phasing through the villain’s back and ripping out his heart! That seems like a scene that would have got cheers from the audiences had it been included in the film!

The scene takes place when Wanda and Vision came under attack early on in the film. I guess directors Joe and Anthony Russo decided it was too early to kill off Glaive and wanted to save it until the final act of the film.

Check out the deleted scene and tell us what you think!

Trailer For Director Spike Jonze’s BEASTIE BOYS STORY Live Documentary Experience

Apple TV+ has shared a brief trailer for director Spike Jonze’s Beastie Boys Story, which is going to be a live documentary experience. Surviving members of the classic rock/rap/punk band, Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz, will share the story of their band and 40 years of friendship.

The doc will focus on “the history and legacy of the group and its intimate, personal story. The project grew out of Diamond and Horowitz’s collaboration on Beastie Boys Book, published in October 2018.” That memoir paid tribute to the late Adam Yauch, who died of cancer in 2012.

So, what does it mean when they say this is going to be a live experience? It’s explained that “live portions of the documentary were taken from Horovitz and Diamond’s recent show at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn; it was all part of a live tour directed by [Spike] Jonze that consisted of Q&A segments, readings, and guest moderators.”

As a long-time fan of the Beastie Boys, I couldn’t be more excited to watch this. I’m sure it’ll be great! The doc will be released on AppleTV+ on April 24th.

New AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Photo Show How Pregnant Scarlett Johansson Was While Shooting The Movie

Some of you may or may not remember or know that Scarlett Johansson was pregnant while shooting Avengers: Age of Ultron. Thanks to movie magic, you would never be able to tell. But, an image has surfaced from the film that shows us just how pregnant she was while shooting the movie. This photo comes from the the Infinity Box Set:

Scarlett Johansson pregnant in a scene from Age of Ultron (from Infinity Saga Box Set) from r/marvelstudios

So how did they hide the pregnancy while shooting the film? Director Joss Whedon said they didn’t trim any scenes. They just made it work using a mix of three Black Widow stunt doubles, close-up shots, concealing costumes, camera angles, and visual effects.

When talking about shooting the movie in an interview with E!, the actress explained:

“I did as much as I could do and filled in all the blanks later on. … I have a really amazing, amazing stunt team around me. My stunt double, Heidi Moneymaker—and that’s her real name—is really incredible, and this time took a lot of the punches for me, literally.”

Chris Evans went on to say that it was a surreal experience to have so many Black Widow stunt doubles on set:

“It’s always funny. You walk by, ‘Hey, Scarlett—oh, weird. You’re not Scarlett at all. Sorry.’ A lot of fake Scarletts around.”

Well, the creative and production team did a pretty incredible job hiding her pregnancy while shooting because, as you can see, she was very pregnant.

Games Coming To Xbox One in February

screenshot_6.jpg

January has been a crazy month of great TV, okay movies and some solid games. But, a new month is upon us! Meaning a whole new slew of games. Even though the Xbox One is lacking in significant exclusives, it doesn’t mean we don’t have some great games coming to the green king. The way we will present games we’re excited for is going to change just a bit, we’ll choose our top three and give a little description about them and then list the rest at the bottom with their release dates.

Zombie Army 4: Dead War – February 4th

Killing zombies is always fun. Doing it for four games? That may seem repetitive, but not for the Zombie Army games. Between various multiplayer types, enemies, weapons and maps, it’ll be hard to get bored of this game once it comes out.

Darksiders Genesis – February 14th

Another title in the Darksiders series is on its way! After the mixed reviews and success of Darksiders 3, we are getting a new and fresh spin on the Darsiders franchise. Genesis will focus on Strife and his journey. The game is also changing to a top-down action adventure game. This new gameplay looks like a great new way to experience death and destruction in a way only Darksiders can provide.

Bayonetta & Vanquish – February 18th

We have already hyped up this game, but can a demon queen and super soldier get too much hype? These games are great and we are super excited to get out hands on them on some seriously powerful hardware. Whether its shooting with guns or heels, those bullets are gonna be flying!

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics – 4th

Kingdom Hearts III Re:Mind – 25th

Two Point Hospital – 25th

Infliction: Extended Cut – 25th

One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows – 28th

A New Pokemon is Set to Be Revealed on Pokemon Day

pokemon_day-2020.jpg

Pokémon Day occurs on February 27 and it looks like The Pokémon Company is already teasing some big news. On the Japanese website, they revealed that there will be special Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Shield. In addition, according to Google Translate, a “new phantom Pokémon” will also be revealed. This same Pokémon will have an appearance in the upcoming film Pokémon The Movie Coco which releases on July 10. It should be noted that Polygon reports that the Pokémon will be a new Mythical Pokémon and I am assuming that’s a better translation. Maybe it’s a new phantom Mythical Pokémon.
