This D&D Supplement Can Help You Plan Encounters in Your Cities

Do you ever want to spice up your Dungeons & Dragons players’ experience in the cities you’ve crafted? Maybe you’re struggling with fleshing out the city they’re currently in and want to build on what you already have.

Well, you may want to take a look at this simple, unofficial supplement for D&D from Duncan Thomson. Table Rolls – Urban Encounters is a simple supplement that gives you tables that give you ideas of encounters your players can run into while in a city. You simply roll an eight-sided die and a twelve-sided die and add the results. Then, consult the table that matches your party’s level and there’s your idea.

Most of these are combat encounters, but some are designed for non-combat experiences. Heck, you could even use this while playing if you need to pad out a session, or if you suddenly realize you forgot a detail and need to buy more time or better introduce a story hook. The best part is that Thomson has similar supplements for other settings as well such as the arctic or swamps.

You can pick up Table Rolls – Urban Encounters from DMs Guild for only $0.99.

Trailer For Season 2 of HBO’s Must Watch Series SUCCESSION

If you haven’t watched the first season of HBO’s Succession, you’re missing out on a brilliantly intense show! I know a lot of people that haven’t watched this series yet, and I can’t recommend it enough.

If you have seen the series, then there’s no doubt that you’re looking forward to the second season! Well, we have the first teaser trailer for Season 2 for you to watch today and as you’ll see, the wealthy dysfunctional family that the story revolves around will continue on in their war with each other.

Set in New York, Succession explores themes of power, politics, and family. Logan Roy (Brian Cox), the tough, powerful, aging patriarch, is head of Waystar Royco, a family controlled international media conglomerate. He is married to his third wife, Marcia (Hiam Abbass), a loving, formidable partner. Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong), Logan’s eldest son from his second marriage, is currently a division president at the firm and the heir apparent. Roman Roy (Kieran Culkin), Kendall’s younger brother, is Logan’s outspoken, fun-loving son and no longer works at Waystar. Siobhan “Shiv” Roy (Sarah Snook), Logan’s only daughter and youngest child, has been pursuing a career in politics. Connor Roy (Alan Ruck), Logan’s eldest son, and only child from his first marriage, has pursued an independent life in New Mexico.

Succession returns to HBO this summer. Have you watched Season 1 yet? If so, what did you think? Are you excited for Season 2?

POKEMON: THE FIRST MOVIE Gets an Honest Trailer

Pokemon: The First Movie was a big deal when it came out in 1998. For Pokemon fans, it was all we could ever dream of. Well, now Screen Junkies has decided to give it an Honest Trailer, and while it was fun, they missed a couple of big things. For starters, they didn’t mention the fact that the movie talks about how fighting is wrong and the characters learn this only to then have their memories wiped and the lesson unlearned. Also, how did they not bring up the biggest quote from the film that is freaking inspirational (and a meme):

I see now that the circumstances of one’s birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.

Now watch the trailer and enjoy. I still enjoy watching this film although my favorite was Pokemon: The Movie 2000.

This Animated Short Film, MALL 84, is a Delightful Tribute To The 1980s

I’ve got a wonderfully made animated short film here for you to enjoy called Mall 84. If you grew up in the 1980s, you’re gonna love this.

The short was created by Gervais Merryweather, who describes his short as a “love letter to the 1980s,” and as you’ll see he completely nailed it with the content and tone. From the arcade, to the fashion, and TV store window displays.

The thing that completely ties it all together, though, is the synthwave soundtrack created by Mitch Murder. You know, I watch a video like this and I can’t help but just miss the 80s. I have so many great memories of that time when I was a kid.

This video is sure to fill some of you up with a good helping of nostalgia. Enjoy!

Video Explains Why THE WIRE is One of the Most Brilliant TV Shows Ever Made

There are a lot of people out there that still have yet to witness the greatness of HBO’s The Wire. This is one of my favorite shows of all time and for some reason, no matter how much I recommend it to some people, they still won’t watch the damn thing and it confuses the hell out of me.

If you are one of those people that haven’t seen The Wire yet, please take the time to watch it. The show is absolutely incredible and I promise you that once you start, you won’t be able to stop.

If you need more persuasion, though, I’ve got a video essay here for you to watch that explains why The Wire is one of the most brilliant and significant TV shows ever created. The video dives into the creators of the show and the techniques that they used that make is so great.

‘The Wire is not a cop show. There isn’t a simple good guy-bad guy dichotomy. We’re introduced to bad police doing the right things for the wrong reasons and gang members who seem to have just as much heart as many of those on the side of the law. Evil is not easily rooted out. We can barely tell who isn’t tainted by malevolence. The audience cannot root for order to be restored, because order itself is corrupt.”

Watch the video below and let us know what your thoughts on The Wire are. Do you think it’s a brilliant show or do you think it’s overrated?

MIT Students Turned the Great Dome into Captain America’s Shield to Celebrate ENDGAME

Avengers: Endgame is a bit of a big deal. It has broken box office records and is the conclusion of a 10-year saga dubbed the Infinity Saga. Of course fans have been excited and emotional about the release last week and fans all over have done some fun things to celebrate. One such thing happened over at MIT. Some students turned the Great Dome into Captain America’s shield on Saturday night in celebration.

Not only was this a cool celebration, but Chris Evans is from Sudbury, Massachusetts. He responded with a positive tweet:

I think this is a fun little prank and apparently the Great Dome has seen a lot of things done to it over the years, so this doesn’t seem like a big deal, especially since it sounds like everyone was being safe. You can check out a video below filmed by an MIT student named Raymond Huffman who says they were not involved.
