For those of you Doctor Who fans who have been enjoying Jodie Whittaker’s take on the thirteenth Doctor, you’ll be happy to learn that she has confirmed she’ll be back for Doctor Who Season 13! She announced the news in a recent interview with EW. When asked about it, the possibility of returning, she said:

“Yes, I’m doing another season. That might be a massive exclusive that I’m not supposed to say, but it’s unhelpful for me to say [I don’t know] because it would be a massive lie!… I absolutely adore it. At some point, these shoes are going to be handed on, but it’s not yet. I’m clinging on tight!”

I’m happy to see that Whittaker will be back for at least one more season. I’ve enjoyed the energy and quirkiness that she brings to the character. If she’s coming back, I imagine she’ll also be joined by her pals Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole, Mandip Gill, and Sharon D Clarke.

The series is currently in the middle of airing its twelfth season with its next episode 12.05 titled “Fugitive of the Judoon” scheduled to air this Sunday on January 26th.

Are you happy to hear that Whittaker will be back as The Doctor next season?

Let’s Talk About FOLKLORDS #3

When I read the first issue of Folklords, I thought it was going to be about a boy going on a fun adventure to find out that the world he knew was gravely misleading. You know, a message kind of like The Giver but with more lighthearted adventuring. We’re on Folklords #3, and I’m thinking that I was very wrong about the tone of this adventure. I was not expecting things to get as dark as they have gotten. If you aren’t caught up, now is your chance to exit before we get into spoilers. However, please return after you’re caught up.

We start with the narrator getting very existential, which is a little weird. However, we quickly get back to Ansel who is apparently being tortured by Hanz and Gretel. Gretel explains their story, and apparently the candy corrupted Hanz into a disfigured form. The most interesting thing is that the siblings seemingly came from a place similar to Ansel’s home. She talks about stealing some books and running away before getting to the gingerbread house of evil.

Well, Ansel is saved by the woman that Archer attacked last issue. Ansel steals a book full of modern inventions from Hanz and Gretel before they burn the gingerbread house with Hanz and Gretel inside. They go back to the woman’s cottage, and she tells Ansel that Archer sold him out, but Ansel’s not so sure he believes that. I’m not sure I believe it fully either. It seems too simple.

The most interesting part to me is the last bit where we see a figure riding a horse who appears to be Demure, Ansel’s maybe girlfriend. She seems to have a book about cars and is riding to an island village that may house the Branch Library of Banned Books. In the book Ansel stole, there was a card saying to take it to this location. What is Demure up to? Where did Archer go? How doomed is Ansel?

Machina Strategies Return to YU-GI-OH! This Spring with MECHANIZED MADNESS and ETERNITY CODE Supports New Decks for Master Rule 5

Yu-Gi-Oh! recently shared what new things to expect in a few months. The first thing that fans can look forward to is a new Machina Structure Deck called Mechanized Madness. Machina Citadel leads the new army with 3000 ATK and a Quick Effect that can turn Machine Monsters into grenades. Plus, you can revive the Citadel when an EARTH Machine of yours is destroyed. Here are two strategies that Mechanized Madness comes ready to implement:

One way to get that plan into action is by launching an aerial assault with Machina Air Raider. You can discard a “Machina” to Special Summon it from your hand, potentially ditching a Machina Citadel to the Graveyard! During your opponent’s turn, its Quick Effect can destroy a Machine you control and salvage the scrap to Special Summon a “Machina” from your Deck with a different name and equal or lower Level than that Machine. After that, because the Machine was destroyed, a Machina Citadel in your Graveyard can come back at full force!

If a ranged attack is more your style, Machina Irradiator can accelerate itself on the field by discarding a “Machina” as well. Machina Irradiator can also destroy one of your Machines to Special Summon a “Machina” with a different name and an equal or lower Level than your monster, but from your Graveyard instead! While Machina Air Raider specializes in disrupting your opponent with its Quick Effect, Machina Irradiator proactively uses its effect during your own turn, so you can strategize the best way to turn the tides of battle!

Mechanized Madness features a total of 42 cards with 37 Commons, 3 Super Rares, and 2 Ultra Rares. Players will also receive a double-sided Deluxe Game Mat/Dueling Guide with your purchase. You’ll be able to acquire Mechanized Madness on April 17 with an MSRP of $9.99.

Maybe you’re not in the market for a new structure deck though. Eternity Code is a new booster set and is full of new Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz-based strategies that shouldn’t come as a surprise after the reveal of Master Rule 5. You’ll find support for @Ignister, Ancient Warriors, and Plunder Patroll (a new archetype introduced in Ignition Assault). The key monster from Eternity Code is a new Link-6 @Ignister that has an ATK ranging from 3000-6000 depending on how many monsters are used for Link Materials. In addition, fans will find new Dragonmaids, Dinosaurs, Madolche, and Witchcrafters. Eternity Code will be available on May 1 with an MSRP of $3.99 and the following breakdown of 100 cards:

  • 50 Commons

  • 26 Super Rares

  • 14 Ultra Rares

  • 10 Secret Rares
