POKEMON SHIELD and POKEMON SWORD Leak Talks About Starter Evolutions

We have another supposed leak for Pokemon Shield and Pokemon Sword. The last leak was about the release date as well as trailer and convention schedules, but this one is more about game content. As always, it’s important to take these rumors with a very large grain of salt, but if they turn out to be true, it could be really awesome.

The first part of the leak is about the evolutions of the starter Pokemon. Fans have been dying to know more about the starters and if this all pans out, many will be excited. Scorbunny’s final evolution is rumored to be a Fire/Electric dual-type (yay, it’s not Fire/Fighting!) that is a football (soccer) player. This makes a lot of sense actually as Scorbunny already has a bit of that aesthetic going on, and with the idea that rabbits are fast, Electric would be a decent secondary type. Meanwhile, Sobble “turns into a 16-17th century style actor.” I’m not really sure what this means, but his typing would be Water/Ghost. This is a pretty cool typing I could get behind, I am just having a hard time picturing it. Maybe he becomes the ghost of Williams Shakespeare? Finally, Grookey. He will reportedly become a musician that uses his stick to play instruments with a Grass/Rock typing. Once again, this is very possible. We all knew that Grookey’s stick would likely play into his evolution and with the strong ties between the UK (remember, Galar is based on the UK) and rock music, it would make sense.

The leak also says that the legendaries that will be on the boxes are wolves. This makes perfect sense considering the art for the titles already features wolf heads. Shield will presumably have a Steel/Rock wolf while Sword’s wolf is a Steel/Fighting. I’m not a fan of these typings as Sword’s legendary will have a clear advantage over Shield. In addition, Meltan and Melmetal are said to be “almost important” to the story and the post-game.

There will also be two evil teams in Shield and Sword, but they won’t be version specific like in Ruby and Sapphire. The first evil team is said to be styled after Roman gladiators with their goal simply being to rule Galar. However, they eventually team up with the player and the league in order to fight the second team. This second team is said to be comprised of scientists and inventors who are “obsessed with the idea of perfection and purity.” Their goal is to use the legendary Pokemon to brainwash the people of Galar for support until they are no longer needed.

Some other reports from the leak indicate that the title of Gym Master that fans are curious about is simply a mistranslation of the already known Gym Leader. Also, the Professor is said to not be important to the story as she studies the relationship between humanity and nature. Your rival is described as nice (whatever happened to jerk rivals you dreamed of murdering?) with dark secrets as their family are members of the evil scientists. Finally, fans can expect somewhere between 85-120 new Pokemon.

That’s a lot of information in this leak, and I have a feeling that there is some truth to it. I could totally see the Gym Masters thing being true and that range of possible new Pokemon is so big, I wouldn’t be surprised if the actual number was in that range. I am taking everything with a grain of salt though and hope the other leak was right about a new trailer on May 10 where we’ll hopefully learn a lot more.

Avengers: Endgame crosses $2 billion worldwide, sets sights on Avatar

Internationally the film added another $282.2 million for an international total of $1.569 billion and a global total of $2.1887 billion. Endgame just edged past Titanic to become the #2 highest grossing movie of all time and reaching this mark in 11 days of release, the fastest any film has reached this threshold. Sony and Screen Gem’s horror-thriller The Intruder landed in second place for the weekend, bringing in $11 million. AUTOMACHEF Is a New Resource Management Puzzle Game Coming to Nintendo Switch This Year

Nintendo has released a trailer for a new game coming to the Nintendo Switch. Automachef is a resource management puzzle game that appears to have players design incredible automated kitchens for what I assume is a restaurant. It looks fairly simple, but these resource management puzzle games are always a lot harder than they appear.

Hello fellow Humans! Welcome to Automachef, a resource management puzzler where you design kitchens, program machinery and watch your genius come to life! It’s time to engineer tomorrows kitchens, today!

Automachef is being developed by Team17 and is set to launch in Q3 of 2019. Are you ready to show the robot that maybe a human can be better at planning food automation?

GAME OF THRONES Gets a Cool Fan-Made WESTWORLD-Style Title Sequence

game-of-thrones-gets-a-cool-fan-made-westworld-style-title-sequence-social.jpg

While we all wait for the new episode of Game of Thrones to air tonight, here’s a pretty cool fan-made opening title sequence that was created in the style of the Westworld title sequence.

The video is called WesterosWorld and it was created by Gilles Kontrol, who offered the following note with the video:

An homage to the two iconic drama series Game of Thrones and Westworld and to title designers Patrick Clair and Raoul Marks.

The project came to fruition over the course of 8 months of on and off work on it in my spare time.

The idea was sparked by the beautiful mashup by composer Brandon Chapman of the themes of the Game of Thrones and Westworld series.

WesterosWorld was also a way to push myself to try and achieve the level of quality of the original title sequence.

Check out the title sequence and let us know if you like how it turned out!

Robin Wright Set to Make Her Directorial Debut in Wilderness Drama LAND

robin wright.jpg

Robin Wright (The Princess Bride, Forrest Gump, House of Cards) is set to make her directorial debut with the upcoming film Land, in which she will also star. The film is based on the original screenplay by Jesse Chatham and Golden Globe nominee Liz Hannah (The Post, Long Shot). Here’s a description of the film from Deadline:

Wright’s character is a cosmopolitan lawyer who takes herself off the grid almost entirely. With advice from online survivalists, she moves to the most unpopulated area in the U.S., living in a cabin in the Shoshone National Forest in Wyoming. All alone, she must learn to hunt, fish and grow her food as she faces brutal winters, a challenging landscape and local wildlife that could kill her at any moment. In crossing paths with Joseph, a First Nations local, Edee begins to confront her demons and surprises herself with her own will to survive.

This sounds like it will be a cool movie in the same vein as Wild and Into the Wild. Stories of self-discovery and reinvention are always pretty interesting, and I’m sure it will be beautiful, as well as well-acted. Production is set to begin this summer in British Columbia and will span the four seasons to capture the entire story.

Does this sound like an interesting story to you?

Fireside Games Releasing CASTLE PANIC BIG BOX This Summer

I love the board game Castle Panic! It’s a lot of fun with one friend, five friends, anywhere in between, or even by yourself. The mechanics are simple which make it a great game for people who are more casual in their tabletop gaming.

Well, this July, Fireside Games is looking to release Castle Panic Big Box which will include the base game and all three expansions! Also, seven promo cards and five promo towers will also be included. This is a big deal and, if the price is right, will be a big deal for fans of the game.

Unfortunately, we don’t have an exact date, nor a price, but I’m still really excited for this release. Here are the details on the expansions:

The Wizard’s Tower:

Your Castle has been rebuilt, and a friendly Wizard has joined your forces. As long as his Tower stands, you have access to powerful magic spells. And you’ll need them, because the Monsters have returned stronger, faster, smarter, and with new abilities to threaten the Castle. You’ll fight against magical Imps, evasive flying creatures, and more. Make your stand against six new, dangerous Mega Boss Monsters, including the Dragon and the Necromancer. Use fire to attack the Monsters, but beware, your Walls and Towers can be burned down as well!

The Dark Titan:

Players must stand together more than ever as The Dark Titan Agranok returns from banishment seeking vengeance. He will lay seige to your Castle with help from new Monsters, such as the Dark Sorceress, Elite Monsters, and a Boom Troll.

You get more reinforcements with the Cavalier, Boiling Oil, and Support Tokens, such as the Supply Wagon. Play them wisely and you could save the Castle. But Agranok and his team have many tricks and can overpower you if you don’t stay alert!

Engines of War:

The expansion introduces a light economic mechanic to the world of Castle Panic. The Engineer uses new Resource cards to build Catapults, Ballistas, Barricades, and more to better defend the Castle from the growing Monster threat.

They charge into battle with a Siege Tower, War Wagon, and a Battering Ram. And they’ve enlisted the help of a Shaman, Breathtaker, and Goblin Saboteurs. Prepare your forces! The fight just added Engines of War!

Gather your forces. The Dark Titan is here!
