We have a surprising new trailer for you all to watch for the Disney+ experimental short film series, Short Circuit, not to be confused with the delightful 80’s robot movie of the same name. The trailer is filled with looks at each of the films, each in vibrant colors and fantastical stories straight from the imagination. Here’s the description for the trailer given by Disney:

This series is similar to the SparkShorts short film series by Pixar, created to highlight new animators, storytellers and artists. My kids loved that series of shorts, and I am excited to show them these as well. Check out the trailer below, and watch Short Circuit on Disney+, available now!

Two New TRANSFORMERS Movies Are In Development and One Includes BEAST WARS

Paramount Pictures is not giving up on the Transformers franchise. Why would they!? The franchise has been making them tons of freakin’ money over the years. In my opinion, Bumblebee was the best film to come out of that franchise and I was hoping they’d make more Transformers movies like that.

Deadline is reporting that the studio is currently in the process of developing two Transformers films. One of them is being written by Independence Day: Resurgence and The Amazing Spider-Man scribe James Vanderbilt and the other one is being written by John Wick Chapter 3 executive producer and Army of the Dead scribe Joby Harold.

According to the report, Vanderbilt’s Transformers is based on the spinoff Beast Wars which centers around robots that transform into robotic animals like Cheetor (Cheetah), Optimus Primal (Gorilla), Rhinox (Rhinoceros) and more. Vanderbilt has been developing the project since April.

The other project is based in the Bumblebee universe. We knew that we’d eventually see a followup to that film. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura previously talked about it saying that they are looking to add “a little more Bayhem” this next time around. He explained:

“I know the next Transformer our attempt anyway, is to sort of do a fusion of Bumblebee and the Bay movies. A little more Bayhem. And a little bit more of the character falling in love within the emotional dynamic of the movie.

“One of the things I want to do—and I hope we pull it off—is, we did it with Bumblebee because he’s so cute and he’s so accessible, but he can’t talk. I think the more human we can make these characters, the more people are going to like them.”

As far as the story goes for the film, Lorenzo di Bonaventura has said that it would be an Optimus Prime and Bumblebee buddy film. I’m not sure if that’s the direction they still plan on tsking it, but I sure hope so!

These projects are still in early development and there are no directors or actors attached. What do you think about these two Bumblebee films that Paramount is currently developing? Which one are you most excited about?
