The Woman in the Window Sets Release Date For Netflix Debut

Netflix has finally announced the release date for Joe Wright’s upcoming thriller film The Woman in the Window. Originally set for theatrical release, the Amy Adams-led film will now be available for streaming on May 14. The announcement comes after nearly two months since Netflix successfully acquired the rights to the long-delayed feature from 20th Century Studios. The Woman in the Window was first delayed back in 2019 due to negative test screenings. Because of this, it had to go through reshoots to correct some confusing plot points.

Adams will next be seen in the film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen. She is also set to reprise her iconic role as Giselle in Disney+’s upcoming Enchanted sequel titled Disenchanted.

In The Woman in the Window, an agoraphobic child psychologist befriends a neighbor across the street from her New York City brownstone, only to see her own life turned upside down when the woman disappears and she suspects foul play. A stellar ensemble cast brings Tracy Letts’ screenplay based on the gripping, best-selling novel to life, where shocking secrets are revealed, and no one-and nothing-is what it seems.

It will also star Anthony Mackie, Wyatt Russell, Brian Tyree Henry, and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Fascinating Trailer For a Groundbreaking Immersive New Series CALLS From EVIL DEAD Director Fede Álvarez

Apple TV+ has released a trailer for an interesting new series titled Calls, which comes from Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe director Fede Álvarez. The series is described as being unlike anything we’ve ever seen or heard before.

The series is told entirely through 12-minute phone conversations and it will also feature “minimal abstract visuals” and it’s pretty creepy and unsettling. The series stars Aubrey Plaza, Rosario Dawson, Nick Jonas, Lily Collins, Pedro Pascal, Karen GillanNick JonasJudy Greer, and more.

Here’s the synopsis for the series:

Based on the buzzy French series of the same name, Calls is a groundbreaking immersive television experience that masterfully uses only audio and minimal abstract visuals to tell bone-chilling snackable stories. Launching in a binge model worldwide, all nine 12-minute episodes are told through a series of phone calls that use sharp writing, compelling voice talent and graphics to aid in transcribing the darkly dramatic conversations onto the screen. These relatable scenarios transport the audience into familiar situations that quickly become surreal with thrilling and frightening moments. Calls proves that the real terror lies in one’s interpretation of what they cannot see on the screen and the unsettling places one’s imagination can take them.

The series drops on Apple TV+ on March 19th and I’m looking forward to watching it.

Made for Love Teaser: Cristin Milioti Leads HBO Max’s New Dark Comedy

HBO Max has released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming dark comedy series titled Made For Love, starring Palm Springs breakout Cristin Milioti and Emmy winner Ray Romano. The video features Milioti’s Hazel as she tries to escape her over-controlling rich husband, who forcedly implanted a high-tech surveillance chip in her brain. The teaser also includes a funny voiceover from Romano, who recites his own rendition of Beyonce’s hit song “Crazy in Love” which somehow describes the show. Check out the video in the player below!

Set to make its debut sometime in April, the series will mark Milioti’s first major TV project as the leading star after appearing in a number of TV shows such as Nurse Jackie, How I Met Your Mother, The Mindy Project, Fargo, and Modern Love.

Made for Love is a darkly absurd and cynically poignant story of love and divorce. It follows Hazel Green, a thirty-something woman on the run after 10 years in a suffocating marriage to Byron Gogol, a controlling tech billionaire. Soon she discovers that her husband has implanted a monitoring device – the Made for Love chip – in her brain, allowing him to track her, watch her, and know her “emotional data” as she tries to regain her independence. Through the chip, Byron’s able to watch Hazel’s every move as she flees to her desert hometown to take refuge with her aging widower father Herbert and his synthetic partner, Diane.

KING RICHARD Director Reinaldo Marcus Green Set to Helm Bob Marley Biopic

Bob-Marley-in-1979.jpg

Paramount has found the director for their biopic about reggae music legend Bob Marley with Reinaldo Marcus Green. He has directed the films Monsters and Men and Joe Bell, as well as the Will Smith-led film King Richard, which tells the story of Venus and Serena Williams and their coach and father, Richard Williams, and is currently filming and set for a November release.

Marley passed away in 1981 from cancer, and left behind a legacy of music that has continued to live on through the generations. Ziggy Marley, Rita Marley, and Cedella Marley will produce on behalf of Tuff Gong. Robert Teitel will also produce.

Green said of the project:

“Bob Marley’s music lives on in all of us. His lyrics transcend continents, color, creed, and generations of people. It heals. It fights. It bleeds love and truth. It’s a true honor and privilege to work with Ziggy and the Marley Family, and Paramount Pictures to bring his story to life. Audiences want to know the real Bob, the man as well as the legend. I trust this film will bring us closer to understanding his journey, his music, and continue to carry the torch of his legacy with humility and grace, and most of all, love.”

This is an exciting movie to see getting made. I love Bob Marley, and I can’t wait to learn more about his life. Are you looking forward to the Marley biopic?
