Cristin Milioti Stars in Crazy Trailer for Dystopian Dark Comedy MADE FOR LOVE at HBO Max

cristin-milioti-stars-in-crazy-trailer-for-dystopian-dark-comedy-made-for-love-at-hbo-max.jpg

How did I never know that I wanted to hear Ray Romano sing talk the lyrics of Beyoncé’s Crazy in Love? It’s a specific request, but now it’s fulfilled thanks to HBO Max’s trailer for Made For Love starring Cristin Milioti (How I Met Your Mother, Fargo, Palm Springs). In the series, Milioti’s character Hazel finds out that her ex-boyfriend (Billy Magnussen) implanted a chip in her brain, and she goes to her dad (Romano) to try and figure out what to do before confronting him.

They are joined in the cast by Noma Dumezweni, Augusto Aguilera, as well as Caleb Foote, Dutch Johnson, and Raymond Lee.

Here’s the full synopsis:

The comedy series is a darkly absurd and cynically poignant story of love and divorce. It follows Hazel Green (Cristin Milioti), a thirty-something woman on the run after 10 years in a suffocating marriage to Byron Gogol (Billy Magnussen), a controlling tech billionaire. Soon she discovers that her husband has implanted a monitoring device – the Made for Love chip – in her brain, allowing him to track her, watch her, and know her “emotional data” as she tries to regain her independence. Through the chip, Byron’s able to watch Hazel’s every move as she flees to her desert hometown to take refuge with her aging widower father Herbert (Ray Romano) and his synthetic partner, Diane.

This looks like a crazy series! Check out the trailer below, and watch Made For Love on HBO Max in April.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw and David Oyelowo to Star in Adaptation THE GIRL BEFORE at HBO Max

david-gugu-split-social.jpg

Gugu Mbatha-Raw (The Morning Show, Loki) and David Oyelowo (Selma, Star Wars Rebels) are reteaming with a four-part psychological thriller series titled The Girl Before for HBO Max and BBC One. The series is created, written, and executive produced by J.P. Delaney, based on his bestselling novel of the same name. Marissa Lestrade (White Stork) will co-write episodes and Emmy-nominated Lisa Brühlmann (Killing Eve) will direct.

Here’s the synopsis via Variety:

“The Girl Before” follows Jane (Mbatha-Raw), who moves into a beautiful, ultra-minimalist house designed by an enigmatic architect (Oyelowo). There’s just one catch: occupants have to abide by his list of exacting rules. Jane starts to feel the house changing her in unexpected ways but, when she makes the shocking discovery that her predecessor Emma died in the house, she’s forced to confront unnerving similarities.

Mbatha-Raw, who is also serving as associate producer on the project, said:

“I’m so excited to work with this amazing team on such a compelling story in my debut role as actor/producer.”

Oyelowo added:

“This story is mind bending in its clever construction and intricacy. I can’t wait to see it, let alone be in it. Plus, I’d go anywhere to work with my friend Gugu again.”

The pair are working together for a third time after co-starring in the 2018 film The Cloverfield Paradox, and in the 2020 film Come Away. Both are great actors, and it will be great to see them again in this interesting short series.

Chucky: Devon Sawa Joins Don Mancini’s Long-in-Development Series

Chucky: Devon Sawa Joins Don Mancini's Long-in-Development Series

Chucky: Devon Sawa Joins Don Mancini’s Long-in-Development Series

As USA Network and SYFY continue to prepare for the start of the Chucky production, Collider brings word that the long-in-development project has finally found the first actors to fill up the main cast. Final Destination alum Devon Sawa has officially been tapped for a key role in Don Mancini’s upcoming Chucky series. Joining him are Zackary Arthur (Transparent), Teo Briones (Ratched), Bjorgvin Arnarson (PEN15), and Alyvia Alyn Lind (The Young and the Restless), who are set to play the series’ four young unnamed leads.

Sawa is no stranger to the horror genre as he previously starred in 1995’s Casper, 1999’s Idle Hands, the first installment of Final Destination in 2000, and most recently in last year’s Hunter Hunter. He along with young leads will officially be joining Chucky alums Brad Dourif and Jennifer Tilly, who are reprising their roles as the voice of the titular killer doll and Tiffany, respectively.

RELATED: Brad Dourif Returning for Chucky Series at USA Network & SYFY!

In the Chucky series, after a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies – and allies – from his past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.

In 1988, Chucky slashed his way into the pop culture zeitgeist with the premiere of Child’s Play directed and co-written by Tom Holland. The international sensation spawned six sequels, all of which Mancini wrote and David Kirschner produced. Last year, Orion Pictures had released a horror remake of the 1988 film which featured Mark Hamill as the voice of Chucky.

Mancini (Hannibal) and Kirschner (Hocus Pocus) will executive produce alongside Nick Antoscia (The Act) via his Eat the Cat banner. This project will be Mancini’s second collaboration with SYFY, who worked on the horror anthology series Channel Zero.

The Child’s Play franchise has been running for 30 years, with the first film dropping in 1988 to box office success, generally positive reviews, and a cult following, spawning six sequels that remained box office successes but slowly started earning more mixed and negative reviews, until the revitalized Curse of Chucky, which returned to the franchise’s horror roots and earned very positive reviews. Brad Dourif has been a staple of the franchise since its inception, lending his voice to the murderous doll in all of the films.

In 2019, Lars Klevberg’s Child’s Play remake was released starring Gabriel Bateman as Andy and Aubrey Plaza as his mother. Mark Hamill took over voicing the killer doll in the modernized horror tale based on Mancini’s original movie.

JUMANJI Producer Confirms That Another JUMANJI Sequel Is in the Works With Dwayne Johnson and Cast Returning

jumanji welcome to the jungle.jpg

The reboot Jumanji films have turned out to be a really fun couple of movies, with booming profits and a solid fanbase. Premiering in 2017 and 2019, they took the original concept of the kids trapped in the board game, and brought it up to date with four high schoolers trapped in an old school video game found in the basement of their school. Each movie was a fun adventure, and the characters they turn into were played by hilarious cast members Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan, with Nick Jonas as well as Awkwafina, Danny Glover, and Danny DeVito later joining the fold.

Now, fans can rest assured that we will see the core cast reunite for at least one more adventure. In a recent interview with ComicBook, Jumanji producer and President of Production at Seven Bucks Productions, Hiram Garcia, said:

“You know, we’re always having conversations, and that’s a family, that entire group if there’s ever been. It’s hard to imagine or remember a time I’ve been on a set where it’s just a beloved group of cast and crew and actors and that’s just one of those things where we know we have a really big idea that we want to do with it. We’ve been discussing it.”

He went on to add:

“There’s conversations have been going we’re in the process of moving that along,” Garcia says of the next film in the franchise. “I can’t tell you anything, but we do have big plans for it and that’s one of our favorite projects to work on and that’s cooking away.”

My kids will be thrilled. This is one of the movie franchise that my entire family gets excited about, and we all like to rewatch on occasion. I think there are plenty of fresh ideas they can run with in this universe, and I can’t wait to see what they come up with. Are you excited for another Jumanji adventure?
