Cryptid documentarian Seth Breedlove and paranormal researcher Shannon LeGro continue their search for the truth behind the enigma of unidentified flying objects in the latest Small Town Monsters release: On the Trail of UFOs: Dark Sky. Dark Sky explores the UFO topic from the point of view of LeGro, a podcast host and author, and focuses more heavily on eyewitness accounts than typical alien fare.

On the Trail of UFOs: Dark Sky is a follow-up to 2020’s On the Trail of UFOs: Season 1, an episodic series created by Breedlove and LeGro and distributed by 1091. On the Trail of UFOs explored the long history of the topic and became one of the most-viewed independent UFO documentary series in history, racking up nearly 10 million views on Amazon alone. Dark Sky goes beyond the history of the subject, exploring modern-day accounts, with additional filming taking place as recently as early May.

Check out the exclusive clip below:

Dark Sky explores decades of reports of unusual craft and lights seen in the skies, and delves into some of the more overlooked aspects of the subject such as men in black, the connection between UFOs and energy sources, and encounters with a mysterious being called “Cold”. The new project took LeGro and Breedlove to West Virginia, allegedly a hotbed for UAP activity for over a century, where they investigated a series of sightings around the northern panhandle of the state and found a link between sightings and energy sources that have gone overlooked. Dark Sky also takes a look at “West Virginia’s Area 51”, and a series of sightings of the same object taking place near the town of Davis, West Virginia that led to the film crew having an encounter of their own.

“This project excited us because we were able to look into reports from real people in real places that still connect what they’re seeing to what is being talked about in the mainstream media today,” Breedlove said. “Particularly, this idea of why these objects or lights in the sky might actually be here on earth and how they might be closer connected to us than we think.”

New Technology is Used in DC’s BLACK ADAM To Bring The Character’s Superpowers To Life in a Unique Way

Another reason to be excited about Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming DC film Black Adam has just surfaced thanks to producer Hiram Garcia. He revealed that the creative team is using a brand new technology to showcase Black Adam’s awesome superpowers in the film in a unique way.

While talking to Collider in an interview, Garcia said:

“This is a character with amazing abilities. He has super speed, can fly, and has world breaking strength to name a few. We wanted to make sure moviegoers feel that throughout the entire movie. You’re not going to see him use super speed just once and then it stops, this is part of his arsenal. It’s common to see abilities fall to the wayside when dealing with characters like that but one of our many goals was to keep continuity there and push the bar in terms of how we do it. For example, the technology we’re using to make Black Adam fly has never been done before. It’s completely unique. It was critical for us to ensure that it felt special, authentic, and real. [director] Jaume [Collet-Serra] took that to heart. Our special effects’ team are Oscar winners, and we certainly put them to work.”

Garcia doesn’t offer any details or specifics on what this technology is and what makes it so unique, but I’m intrigued. I’ve always been interested in filmmaking technology and how it has evolved over the years. I’m especially interested in seeing what the tech will bring to the film visually. I’m sure we’ll get our first look at it in a trailer that will eventually be released.

Johnson is joined in the film by Aldis Hodge (Underground, The Invisible Man) as Hawkman, Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I Love Before, Charlie’s Angels) as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell (Trinkets, Euphoria) as Cyclone, Pierce Brosnan (GoldenEye, Mamma Mia!) as Doctor Fate, and Sarah Shahi (Person of Interest, The L Word), Marwan Kenzari (The Old Guard, Aladdin), and Uli Latukefu (Young Rock) has been cast in an unspecified role.

Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise) is directing Black Adam, the most recent script of which was written by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani. Adam Sztykiel wrote the previous draft.

The movie will be released on July 29th, 2022.

COWBOYS & ALIENS Creator Has Big Plans For a New Movie

cowboys-aliens-creator-has-big-plans-for-a-new-movie.jpg

Back in 2011 director Jon Favreau’s sci-fi western Cowboys & Aliens was released in theaters. I remember seeing the film at Comic-Con that year and I thought it was a blast! I actually watched it again a few months ago and I still enjoyed it! Unfortunately, the movie didn’t do very well at the box office, and that’s why we never saw any sequels.

It’s pretty crazy that the film didn’t do better as it came from the director of Iron Man and it had an incredible ensemble cast that included Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, Sam Rockwell, and Paul Dano. And it really was a fun flick!

Well, the rights to the property have reverted back to the original creator of the comic book, Scott Mitchell, and he’s got some big plans for a new film adaptation. He recently talked to Yahoo Entertainment and he shared his opinion on what he thinks killed the film’s success, saying:

“It’s interesting: when it debuted at San Diego Comic-Con, the reviews from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter were very positive. But the articles that came out after talked about the box office, and because it didn’t do better at the box office, the reviews were different, which I don’t think is very fair.”

He went on to explain that he thinks that Universal’s constant micromanaging played a big party in hurting the film’s potential:

“Universal announced the release date for the movie without going over it with DreamWorks. Had everything been cordial, it would have been bumped to the following summer [of 2012] because that way we could have gotten a lot of merchandising going. It was just 11 months without a Christmas in between to do anything. They just weren’t working together on things, and people were pointing hands in different directions. It had its effect.”

While that first movie didn’t do as well as he hoped, he is planning another attempt to make a movie:

“We’ve been talking to investors about a new movie. It can’t be based on any of the stuff that came before, so we have to go back to the source material or create new source material.”

I personally think that the story would work so much better being adapted as a series. They already did the film and while it bombed at the box office it was good! I’d like to see this story adapted as a series because there’s so much to play with, with the story and characters.
