MOON KNIGHT Director Says Oscar Isaac’s Jake Lockley Identity is “The TAXI DRIVER Kind of Guy”

Last week the season finale of Marvel’s Moon Knight revealed a third and creepy new personality for Oscar Isaac’s character. That personality’s name is Jake Lockley and we only got to see a brief moment of him in the series during the post-credits scene.

This is another reason Marvel needs to continue this story! We get a first look at a new personality and this guy is completely unhinged and insanely brutal and violent. In fact, during a recent interview with /Film, director Mohamed Diab talked about the new character and apparently Isaac’s portrayal of the character scared the hell out of the crew. He explained:

“We never spoke about Jake that much, honestly, but I want to tell you, when Oscar just showed us the way he wanted to play him, he scared the hell out of us. He became a scary person for sure.”

While we didn’t see much of Jake in the series, you can tell his demeanor is dark and cold-blooded. The filmmaker went on to share that he sees the character as the “Taxi Driver kind of guy.” He also explained why he decided to keep this identity hidden until the end of the season:

“I think the discussion about Jake is going to come one day, if there is an expansion of what’s going to happen. We actually decided to meet him at the end, so we don’t do this disservice to him, because he needs exactly the same time as Marc and Steven on screen. We need to understand who he is. We need to understand his struggle, but he’s one of the reasons that I really want to come back one day to this show and expand that world, whether in film or TV. But I see him as the ‘Taxi Driver’ kind of guy. So I wish one day to play with him and see where it takes us.”

With the way the series ended, I’d be surprised if Marvel didn’t continue the story for Moon Knight! He’s always been one of Marvel’s most interesting characters with his multiple personalities and it’d be so crazy for them to not want to explore that further. There very well could be more than the three personalities that we’ve been introduced to so far!

Kevin Feige Explains That the Events of LOKI Made All of This MCU Multiverse Insanity Possible

Marvel has had a bit of fun playing with the multiverse in the MCU with projects such as Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home, and it all explodes into complete insanity with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Now, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirms that the events of Loki made everything that has happened in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness possible.

He explained to Marvel, “There’s always a method to the madness even in the multiverse. Fans know Loki and Sylvie did something at the end of that series that allowed all of this to be possible. He Who Remains is gone and that allowed a spell to go wrong in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which leads to the entire multiverse going quite mad in this.”

That’s not really explained in any of the movies involving the multiverse, but thanks to Feige, we now have some clarity on what is causing all of this multiverse craziness and I imagine that it’s not going to stop. It’s going to be interesting and fun to see how Marvel continues to mess around with the multiverse as they continue telling their stories.

The new Doctor Strange movie definitely takes fans on a wild ride through the multiverse and now anything is possible.

Trippy and Mesmerizing Trailer for African Sci-Fi Musical NEPTUNE FROST

A trippy trailer has been released for the African sci-fi musical Neptune Frost. The film was written by Saul Williams and co-directed by Williams (in his feature directorial debut) alongside Anisia Uzeyman (Dreamstates). It features performances by Cheryl Isheja, Bertrand Ninteretse, Eliane Umuhire, and Dorcy Rugamba.

Here’s the full synopsis:

Co-directed with the Rwandan-born artist and cinematographer Anisia Uzeyman, the film takes place in the hilltops of Burundi, where a group of escaped coltan miners form an anti-colonialist computer hacker collective. From their camp in an otherworldly e-waste dump, they plan a takeover of the authoritarian regime exploiting the region’s natural resources – and its people. When an intersex runaway and escaped coltan miner find each other through cosmic forces, their connection sparks glitches within the greater divine circuitry. Set between states of being – past and present, dream and waking life, colonized and free, male and female, memory and prescience – the film is an invigorating, empowering direct download to the cerebral cortex and a call to reclaim technology for progressive political ends.

This looks truly captivating, and has been described as such by many critics who have already viewed it across many festivals including Cannes, New York, Toronto, Sundance, and London. Check out the trailer and poster for the film below, and watch Neptune Frost in select US theaters starting June 3rd.

Teresa Palmer is Unsettled in This New Clip For the Horror Film THE TWIN

I enjoy the films that Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies, Lights Out) makes, and she’s got a new horror movie coming out titled The Twin. Palmer takes on the role of a young mother in the story who is plagued by the violent death of one of her twins.

The synopsis reads:

Following the aftermath of a tragic accident that claimed the life of one of their twins, Rachel (Palmer) and husband Anthony (Steven Cree) relocate to the other side of the world with their surviving son in the hopes of building a new life. What begins as a time of healing in the quiet Scandinavian countryside soon takes an ominous turn when Rachel begins to unravel the torturous truth about her son and confronts the malicious forces attempting to take a hold of him.”

The clip features Rachel observing her son’s strange behavior and disturbing artwork. She’s clearly disturbed by what she’s seeing, and asks her son: “You don’t want to hurt mommy, do you?” Chances are, he does; after all, this is a horror movie.

The Twin comes from Lake Bodom director Taneli Mustonen, and it will be released on Shudder, in theaters, on VOD and digital on May 6th, 2022.

Mike Myers Says He Would Love to Do a Fourth AUSTIN POWERS Movie, But Can’t Confirm or Deny Anything

Mike Myers is known for his run on the series Saturday Night Live, and his successful franchises that include Wayne’s World, Shrek, and Austin Powers. Each one is a standalone phenomenon, but are also pretty far in the review mirror. Myers has been working the last few years on just a couple of projects including appearing in Bohemian Rhapsody, as well as the series he developed for Netflix that premiers this week titled The Pentaverate.

But could an additional Austin Powers movie be on the horizon? Myers hopes so, but he can’t give us a straight answer one way or the other. In a recent interview with SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show (via CB) to promote his new Netflix series, Myers was asked about Austin Powers 4, and he said:

“I would love to do one. I can neither confirm nor deny the existence or non-existence of such a project, should it exist or not exist?  You know, we’re, you know…”

At that point, co-hosts Cagle and Julia Cunningham both broke in to suggest it sounded like Myers was confirming that something was in the works.

“It was a non-confirmed, confirmation confirmation,” Myers joked.

The idea of a fourth Austin Powers film is one that has been floating around for some time, starting all the way back in 2005, about three years after Austin Powers in Goldmember. The actor’s IMDb even states that it’s in development. Myers has offered various updates about a fourth film, with most of them being very positive. A May 2018 update saw Myers hint that a fourth film would feature some sort of tribute to Mini Me actor Verne Troyer who died in April of that year.

Goldmember director Jay Roach said of the possible sequel in 2020:

“I wouldn’t say never never…I’m always game for whatever [Mike Myers] wants to do. It does depend on Mike having something that he’s inspired about, and so far, after all these years, it hasn’t quite clicked yet.”

I have a feeling this will probably fall into place. There’s no reason for it not to. It would be ridiculous, but totally fun to see this cast back together for another Austin Powers. Would you like to see Austin Powers 4 on the big screen?
