Director Tim Miller Compares TERMINATOR: DARK FATE Star Mackenzie Davis’s Character to Wolverine

One of the things that was endearing about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator character was that he was almost human, as he looked like a person, and talked like a person, but was obviously huge and musclebound and had a robotic way of speaking while not understanding social cues or interpersonal communication. While that made sense for the first films, a cool aspect of this upcoming Terminator: Date Fate, is that the machines have evolved and are more human now than ever. Dark Fate director Tim Miller says as much about the Terminator characters in a recent interview with CB. Here’s what he had to say:

“Robots of today, they get more and more human.”

Then adding that Gabriel Luna’s Terminator is

“more human than [robot].”

Unlike Schwarzenegger’s T-800 model, Luna’s Terminator “can blend in,” Miller added, and said:

“He’s not this big, solid, tank of a person like Arnold is, and the way he fights is not that way either. He’s fast and lethal. Then you bring Mackenzie’s character into it, who is an augmented human who’s strong — she’s like Wolverine. She’s very durable, very strong, very fast, and it’s all about speed with her.”

That’s some pretty high praise! But it makes sense, as the footage from this movie looks so freaking amazing. I got chills seeing it all for the first time at Comic-Con this year. The stunt work and effects are just so crazy and badass. I can’t wait to see the whole story unfold on the big screen! How about you? Are you ready? Terminator: Dark Fate hits theaters on November 1, 2019.
