A Star Wars fan on Reddit has pointed out an interesting error in the latest trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. This error involves Kylo Ren and the digital effects team.
The footage below shows Kylo in a lightsaber fight with Rey on a sea-bound structure as waves crash around them. In the footage Kylo is wearing a cape, but if you look at the character’s reflection on the wet structure he’s not wearing a cape. You can watch it below:

There are two possibilities here. The first is that Adam Driver wasn’t wearing a cape while shooting this scene and it later added digitally, and the VFX team forgot to include the cape in the reflection.
The second is that Driver did have a cape on during the fight, but the reflection itself is digital, and the VFX team forgot to add the cape.
Regardless, someone dropped the ball on the cape effects!
