MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 7 is Titled MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – DEAD RECKONING PART ONE and The First Trailer Has Screened

During Paramount Pictures’ CinemaCon presentation they revealed that the next Mission: Impossible movie is titled Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, and they also went on and premiered the first trailer for the film! There’s no work on when that trailer will be released, but I’m pretty sure it will debut with the release of Top Gun: Maverick next month.

The footage from the trailer is pretty freakin’ awesome, and there’s no doubt that this will be the most epic Mission: Impossible movie yet! The trailer that was screened is mostly a montage of exciting different and thrilling sequences from the film, but it puts a major focus on Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt and Henry Czerny‘s Eugene Kittridge, who is back in action for the first time since the first Mission: Impossible back in 1996.

The two characters are together in a room and as Kittridge is talking to Hunt he says:

“Your days of fighting for the so-called greater good are over. This is our chance to control the truth, the concepts of right and wrong for everyone for centuries to come. You’re fighting to save an ideal that doesn’t exist. Never did. You need to pick a side.”

Hunt has a shocked and surprised look on his face. While there’s a lot going on in the trailer, we still don’t really know what the plot of the movie is, but I don’t care… I’m already sold.

The trailer came to an end with a breathtaking moment that features Ethan Hunt riding through a jungle on a motorcycle, and then he drives it off the edge of a cliff! Hunt jumps off the motorcycle and just falls and falls and falls without deploying his shute and the trailer ends. It looks like one hell of an epic stunt and it was teased last year at CinemaCon in a behind-the-scenes video that was shown.

Mission: Impossible 7 was helmed by Christopher McQuarrie and it will be released on July 14th, 2023, and Mission: Impossible 8 is due on June 28, 2024.
