New Details From Disneyland’s TIANA’S BAYOU ADVENTURE Attraction Plus a Video of the Model of the Ride From D23

Some new details have emerged regarding the upcoming transition from Disneyland’s attraction formerly known as Splash Mountain, which will henceforth be known as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The ride will allow fans to follow Tiana venturing into the bayou to find animal friends. She’s hosting a party for the people of New Orleans, but it’s missing a special ingredient.

Some of the original cast will be providing their voices to the attraction, including Anika Noni Rose (Tiana), Bruno Campos (Naveen), Michael Leon Wooley (Louis), and Jennifer Lewis (Mama Odie).

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will have new characters, animation, lighting, and mist effects to turn it into a completely new experience. The attraction is set to look especially gorgeous at night. It’s a love letter to New Orleans and it was important to the Imagineers for it to be authentic.

Anika Noni Rose came on stage to sing “Almost There” during the D23 Expo presentation. The Imagineer in charge of the new attraction was stationed at the model, which you can check out below, and she told GeekTyrant’s Joey and Billy that the new ride will be incredibly beautiful and will have a restaurant built in that will take fans to the New Orleans establishment, Tiana’s Palace, from the film.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is set to be open to guests at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom late 2024. Are you looking forward to this changeover?

DEADPOOL 3 Director Shawn Levy Says a DEADPOOL and STRANGER THINGS Crossover is “On The Table”

I never really thought about the possibility of Deadpool crossing over with Stranger Things, but according to producer and director Shawn Levy, this is actually something that he and Ryan Reynolds are trying to figure out!

During a recent interview with Variety, Levy was asked about building a building out a Stranger Things Cinematic Universe and he said:

“Yes, we are building out the STCU, and now that I’m spending time with [chief creative officer of Marvel Entertainment] Kevin Feige, I’m learning a lot about how to manage a universe. So I’m taking those skills and applying them to the STCU.”

Levy is working with Feige on Deadpool 3 and when asked if there could be a crossover between the two properties, Levy shared this surprising answer:

“Funnily enough, [“Deadpool” star] Ryan [Reynolds] and I were trying to figure out how in the world could we do a ‘Deadpool’-‘Stranger Things’ crossover. We haven’t cracked it yet, but it’s on the table.”

There’s a video you can watch of him saying this on Variety, and he is serious. He looks straight into the camera when he shared this bit of info.

I have no idea how a Deadpool and Stranger Things crossover will work, but if they manage to figure it out, of course, I’ll be there to watch it! What do you think about this?

Sure, it’s not as exciting as seeing actual footage, but it’s what we can give you to tide you over until the actual footage is released!

Ironheart stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, and we have a first look at her wearing the armor here. The movie also stars Anthony Ramos as the Marvel villain known as The Hood, Manny Montana, Alden Ehrenreich, Shea Couleé, and Zoe Terakes.

Don Cheadle Says Marvel’s Disney+ Series ARMOR WARS Will Let Fans Finally Get to Know Rhodey

Tons of fun announcements were made this past weekend at D23, and Marvel showed up to talk about several new things coming our way. There are tons of movies and shows we got dates and trailers for, and one project they talked a bit about was Armor Wars. The series explores what would happen if Tony Stark’s tech fell into the wrong hands, and Don Cheadle is returning to play James “Rhodey” Rhodes in the show.

In the comics, Rhodey helps Tony in his fight to retrieve that technology. In the Disney+ series, it’ll be all on Rhodes’ shoulders after Tony Stark’s death. This will give fans an opportunity to get to know Rhodey as a character in a way that hasn’t been afforded to him by previous appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Cheadle explained on his Instagram:

“We’re finding Rhodey, as you said, he’s someone who’s gone through a lot. That’s what’s the fun about doing the Armor Wars series is that we’re going to have an opportunity to really dig into that. What’s he dealing with emotionally? What’s he dealing with psychologically? So that’s why I said ‘yes’ to it, because I think it’s going to be a lot of fun to get to know him in a way that, even if that this many years we’ve known him, we really don’t know him.”

Cheadle explained to ComicBook:

Armor Wars finds Rhodey “At a very different place in a way that is something that I can’t talk about, but it’s going to very surprising to a lot of people. And the great thing is there’s just going to be so much opportunity to learn a lot about him and for him to learn about himself and for us, hopefully, to really be able to get behind what makes him tick.”

He also touched on what’s like now being one of the senior members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe cast, saying:

“I think that’s what’s the fun of it, how expansive it can be. We don’t lose the old character, but we bring in new characters, then we get to bring the newer and older characters together and that creates its own sort of thing. So that’s the most fun of being in these shows, the opportunity to cross-pollenate each other’s projects and find ways that these relationships continue to work and conflicts that we continue to cook up, and I think they do a great job of it, always making it interesting, exciting, and things you can’t really anticipate.”

Walton Goggins will also return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Armor Wars, reprising his role from Ant-Man and the WaspArmor Wars is a six-episode Marvel Studios series, and production is expected to begin in Atlanta in early 2023.

Ubisoft Announces New ASSASSIN’S CREED Games and Shows More at Recent Ubisoft Forward

Over the weekend, Ubisoft held an Ubisoft Forward where they announced some games and provided more information regarding previously announced titles. You can catch the whole video down below or read on for some of the highlights.

First, news that made big waves came from the Assassin’s Creed franchise. It was revealed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the next entry to release, will take place in 9th century Baghdad and center around Basim Ibn Is’haq who fans will recognize from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Ubisoft said that Mirage is meant to be an homage to earlier titles in the franchise. Assassin’s Creed Codename RED was also revealed, and we were told that players will finally be headed to feudal Japan in an open-world RPG experience. RED will be followed by Assassin’s Creed Codename HEXE with no additional details given. Assassin’s Creed INFINITY is also in the works and it will be “a hub that connects players through different types of Assassin’s Creed experiences, including RED and HEXE.” I’m not entirely sure what that means although my theory is that it will essentially be a launcher for you to more easily access all your Assassin’s Creed games. Mobile gamers can look forward to a new AAA RPG action-adventure game set in ancient China currently titled Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade. The final announcement from the Assassin’s Creed team was that they’re working with Netflix to create a live-action adaptation of Assassin’s Creed with a mobile game that will be exclusive to Netflix members. The last foray into adapting Assassin’s Creed went over so well, I’m sure fans will hype this one up and not immediately dismiss it.

Assassin’s Creed wasn’t the only game present at the Forward although I can see why you would think that. Ubisoft spent some time talking about Skull and Bones which is set to launch on November 8. Fans got a look at The Helm, in-game trading networks, some of the various ships you can sail, and more. If you’re looking ot play on PC, you can sign up for the Insider Program to play before it goes live on Amazon Luna, PC, PS5, Stadia, and Xbox Series X|S (affiliate link).

Nintendo fans got the news that Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope will bring Rayman into the game with its third DLC expansion. Sparks of Hope will release for the Nintendo Switch on October 20 and the DLC with Rayman will be available separate or as part of the Season Pass. Fans also got a new gameplay video showing off Mario and friends including the new Rabbid Rosalina as they fight on Terra Flora.

Ubisoft is celebrating the third anniversary of Ubisoft+ and giving players Ubisoft+ Multi-Access on Amazon Luna, PC, and Stadia for free until October 10. This gives you access to 100+ Ubisoft titles including big games like Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, Child of Light, and more.

Just Dance 2023 Edition was announced to release on November 22. The game will be available on Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S (affiliate link) and brings 40 new songs from Dua Lipa, K/DA, Justin Timberlake, and more.

There was a lot more news for games like Riders Republic, Trackmania, The Crew 2, and more, so check out the full video below if you’re interested in other Ubisoft titles. What are you must excited about?

BARBARIAN Director Shares His Original Pitch Video for the Horror Film

Barbarian is one hell of a crazy nightmare-fueled horror movie! I enjoyed the hell out of it, and if you haven’t seen it, this is a movie worth checking out! Barbarian does some incredibly fun and inventive stuff, and there are some great twists and turns in the story that I didn’t see coming.

This is one of those movies that is best seen knowing nothing about it before watching it! That being said, if you haven’t seen the trailer, don’t watch it and just go see the movie! If you’re looking for a good horror movie to watch, jump into the theater and watch Barbarian.

If you have seen the film, I’ve got a video here for you to watch today. This video was shared by the film’s writer and director Zach Cregger. This is the original pitch video that he created in an effort to help sell the movie. It’s really well done! I’m happy it worked and that he got to make his movie!

Barbarian opened this past weekend and took in $10 million domestically. This is the kind of movie that you want to see with a big crowd, so hopefully word starts to spread that this is the movie to go see right now.

In the film, “a young woman traveling to Detroit for a job interview books a rental home. But when she arrives late at night, she discovers that the house is double booked, and a strange man is already staying there. Against her better judgement, she decides to spend the evening, but soon discovers that there’s a lot more to fear than just an unexpected house guest.”

The film has a great cast that includes Bill Skarsgård, Georgina Campbell, and Justin Long. Go watch it!

Ti West Reveals Third Installment of His X Horror Franchise with 1980s-Set Film MAXXXINE

Director Ti West recently announced that he’s making a third film for his X horror film franchise. The first two films, X and Pearl, will be followed up with a 1980s-set movie titled MaXXXine.

The new movie was unveiled during the Midnight Madness premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. A24 is producing the film and there’s a teaser trailer that was shared that you can watch below. Pearl was a prequel to X and MaXXXine will be a sequel.

The star of the first two films, Mia Goth, will be back and is “reprising one of the two roles she played in X.” The story follows Maxine (Goth), “after the events of X, as the sole survivor who continues her journey towards fame setting out to make it as an actress in 1980’s Los Angeles.”

The movie hasn’t started shooting yet, but it will soon and it’s on the fast track to production. The second film in the franchise, Pearl, is set to open in theaters on September 16th.

MaXXXine will be the finale installment of this X trilogy. Are you excited that we are getting a third film?

Trailer for the Dark Comedy WHEN THE SCREAMING STARTS Follows an Aspiring Serial Killer

Cinedigm has released an amusing trailer for an upcoming British horror mockumentary dark comedy titled When the Screaming Starts. The film follows a man named Aidan Mendle who has a dream of becoming an infamous serial killer. The synopsis reads:

When Norman Graysmith is invited into the home of an aspiring serial killer, Aidan Mendle, he believes he has found the subject for the documentary that will transform his failing career. Initially the production goes well with Aidan freely opening up about his desire to kill, but when his early attempt at committing murder falls apart, things begin to unravel. idan desperately tries to maintain his position as the next Charles Manson by starting a murder cult, interviewing prospective members for what he affectionately calls his “family”. The potential candidates provide a rich tapestry of misfits, from the lost and confused to the (most likely) psychopathic. Events begin to spiral out of control and Norman watches his dreams crumbling around him.

The movie was directed by Conor Boru, and it looks like it could be an entertaining flick. However, it could be considered awkward due to the fact it jokes around and makes light of murdering people. You’ll probably have to have a dark sense of humor to enjoy this thing.

The ensemble cast features Ed Hartland, Jared Rogers, Kaitlin Reynell, Octavia Gilmore, Kavé Niku, Ronja Haugholt, Vår Haugholt and Yasen Atour.

Screambox will release When the Screaming Starts streaming on the Screambox service starting September 20th, 2022.

Trailer For Paul Feig’s Magical Fantasy Adventure Film THE SCHOOL FOR GOOD & EVIL

Netflix has released a new full trailer for it’s upcoming fantasy adventure film The School for Good & Evil, which comes from director Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, Spy, Ghostbusters, A Simple Favor).

The film is based on the book series by Soman Chainanitells, which tells the story of a group of boys and girls that are taken to an institution where they are trained to become fairy tale characters. This project looks like it ripped a lot of elements from the Harry Potter franchise. In fact, it’s like they wanted to make it look as much like the Harry Potter movies as possible.

The movie has a great ensemble cast that includes Kerry Washington, Charlize Theron, Sophia Anne Caruso, Sofia Wylie, Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Flatters, Kit Young, Peter Serafinowicz, Rob Delaney, Mark Heap, Patti LuPone, and Rachel Bloom.

The movie is very uninteresting to me, but maybe you’ll like what you see. Here’s the synopsis that was shared:

In the village of Gavaldon, two misfits and best friends, Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso) and Agatha (Sofia Wylie), share the unlikeliest of bonds. Sophie, a lover of fairy tales, dreams of escaping her ordinary village life, while Agatha, with her grim aesthetic, has the makings of a real witch. Then one night under a blood red moon, a powerful force sweeps them away to the School for Good & Evil — where the true story of every great fairy tale begins. Yet something is amiss from the start: Sophie is dropped into the School for Evil, run by the glamorous and acid-tongued Lady Lesso (Charlize Theron), and Agatha in the School for Good, that’s overseen by the sunny and kind Professor Dovey (Kerry Washington). According to the Schoolmaster (Laurence Fishburne), only true love’s kiss can change the rules and send the girls to their rightful school. But when a dark and dangerous figure (Kit Young) with some mysterious ties to Sophie reemerges and threatens to destroy the school and the rulebook entirely — the only way to a happy ending is to survive the fairytale first.

The School for Good & Evil will be released on Netflix on October 19th, 2022.
