Captain Picard’s Classic Facepalm Image From STAR TREK Gets a Bronze Bust Statue

The image of Captain Picard facepalming in Star Trek: The Next Generation is a classic, and that image has now been brought to life in the form of a bronze bust statue.

The bust is 6-inches tall and it will fit right at home in a geeky office setup or study. It’s a perfect representation of the disappointment you might express during your days when life doesn’t live up to your standards.

The description reads:

“Disappointing Captain Jean-Luc Picard is one of the worst things you can do. Seriously. In order, it’s: making a fool of yourself in front of Captain Picard, destroying the universe, and accidentally initiating the self-destruct sequence in your sleep. And since the dreaded Picard facepalm is such a big deal, we decided to “bronze it.” That way everyone can express their disappointment in us with bronzed Picards. Does it make the sting of embarrassment better or worse? We still don’t know.”

“Set phasers to facepalm, the Captain Picard Facepalm Bust is back as a ThinkGeek Exclusive limited bronze edition! With so many opportunities to judge people, you might want to consider stocking up, especially if you’re more judgmental than Q. At least now you can “spill the tea” like a pro: Earl Grey. Hot.”

The Captain Picard facepalm bust can be ordered here for $69.99 if you want one.

This is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Michelangelo as Batman Action Figure and it’s based on “the hit DC Comics crossover, Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mikey is decked out in Batman’s iconic cowl and cape.” This crossover event is also being released as an animated film from DC animation.

The accessories it comes with includes a sewer lid, pizza and extra sets of hands. This figure is a limited edition of 10,000 pieces. It’s a fun TMNT action figure that I’d definitely want to add to my collection.

The figure is available to pre-order right here with shipping slated for this August.

Hellraiser reboot in development with David S. Goyer set to write

A Hellraiser reboot is in development with David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight) writing and producing the project, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. From Spyglass Media Group, the movie will reimagine the 1987 horror classic written and directed by Clive Barker.

Hellraiser originally told the story of an unfaithful wife who attempts to assist her dead lover in his escape from hell. Pinhead is the notable villain and one of the movie’s demons called Cenobites. The horror character is summoned using an antique puzzle box.

“For generations, [Barker’s] brilliantly twisted and imaginative Hellraiser haunted the minds of moviegoers with its searing imagery of Pinhead,” Spyglass chairman and CEO Gary Barber said. He also added that Goyer was the right storyteller to reimagine Barker’s original vision.

“Having the chance to reimagine Pinhead and the Cenobites for a new audience is a nightmare-come-true. Gary is a true fan as well and we’re committed to making something dark and visceral,” added Goyer, whose credits include Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, Man of Steel, Blade: Trinity, The Unborn, and the upcoming Foundation series for Apple.

Spyglass will finance, develop, and fast track Hellraiser for worldwide theatrical distribution. Keith Levine will produce alongside Goyer via the Phantom Four banner. VP of development and production for Spyglass, Chris Stone, will oversee the project.

Jon Favreau Reportedly Returning To Develop THE MANDALORIAN Season 2

jon-favreau-reportedly-returning-to-develop-the-mandalorian-season-2-social.jpg

2019 is shaping up to be an awesome year for Star Wars fans! We’ve got Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker coming, the video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and then the project I’m most excited about… The Mandalorian live action series!

According to Discussing Film, Lucasfilm and Disney are planning on moving forward with a second season of the highly-anticipated show and they are reportedly bringing back showrunner Jon Favreau to develop it!

While the series hasn’t even aired yet, it shouldn’t really come as a surprise that The Mandalorian is getting a Season 2. The fans at Star Wars Celebration completely flipped over the footage that was shared at the event and this is bound to be a huge hit with the fans. This series might actually be the thing that unites the Star Wars fans again.

While I haven’t even seen The Mandalorian, I’m a big fan of Favreau and his work, so I’m happy and excited to learn that he’ll be coming back for another season of the series!

The series also stars Pedro Pascal (Narcos) as “a lone Mandalorian gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy.” It also includes Gina Carano (Deadpool), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Predator), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), and Nick Nolte (Affliction).

The plot of the show is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order and here’s the synopsis:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

It was also previously revealed the story will follow a bounty hunter who is protecting a baby that he was initially sent to kill. You can read some more details regarding that here.

Favreau previously said he developed the series as a “low budget affair”, saying:

“Since I wrote most of [The Mandalorian], I wrote it to fit within our volume, and in trying to keep the scale of it like the first Star Wars film, which was a relatively low-budget affair, even though the effects were spectacular.”

The Mandalorian will be written and executive produced by Favreau, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode and serving as executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. Additional directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).

The Mandalorian will debut on Disney+ on November 12th, 2019.
