Redundant Trailer for Netflix’s Renee Zellweger Series WHAT/IF

renee-zellweger-what-if-netflix.jpg

I’ve got a full trailer to share with you today for the Netflix series What/If, starring Renee Zellweger. It’s got an Indecent Proposal vibe, with Zellweger making sure you understand she is ruthless and sexy and not a nice person.

There isn’t a whole lot of explanation as to why she is this way, or what her motivation is, it’s just a bunch of hard, squinty stares and people realizing they probably made bad decisions that are now affecting their lives in a negative way. It’s a deal with the devil situation, and Zellweger is the devil who has some some huge amount of pull in a high stakes world that looks like Hollywood.

Zellweger plays the ultimate game player, Anne Montgomery. “When Anne presents a young, cash-strapped couple with an incredible opportunity, they have to decide what they’re willing to risk for a chance to have it all.”

There’s surely a huge market for this kind of show. Lots of people like over-the-top dramas, so this series has a shot to succeed. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you’ll be tuning in to Netflix on Friday May24th for What/If.

The Trailer For BLACK MIRROR Season 5 Has Arrived with Miley Cyrus, Anthony Mackie, and Topher Grace

Netflix has shared the long-awaited first trailer for Black Mirror Season 5. This has been such a great series with the crazy and shocking stories that it tells. This next season will consist of only three episodes, which is a bummer. But it has a solid cast of actors that include Miley Cyrus, Anthony Mackie, Andrew Scott, and Topher Grace.

The upcoming takes a deep dive into the dangers of technology with interesting stories that are “about the future we should have seen coming.” It explores humans’ need to feel connected with others, the impact that technology can have on marriage, self-esteem, fame, social media, and mental health.

Black Mirror is an anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia leading to an unforgettable – and sometimes unsettling – conclusion. Without questioning it, technology has transformed all aspects of our lives; in every home; on every desk; in every palm – a plasma screen; a monitor; a Smartphone – a Black Mirror reflecting our 21st Century existence back at us. The series is created and written by Charlie Brooker, and executive produced by Brooker and Annabel Jones.

The fifth season also stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Damson Idris, Nicole Beharie, Pom Klementieff, Angourie Rice, Madison Davenport, and Ludi Lin.

Black Mirror Season 5 debuts on Netflix on June 5th, 2019.

Bill Murray and Adam Driver Chop Off Zombie Heads in New Red-Band Trailer For THE DEAD DON’T DIE

We’ve got a great new red-band trailer to share with you today for the upcoming new horror comedy called The Dead Don’t Die. This movie looks so freakin’ fun and it has a crazy great cast!

The new trailer offers some gruesome new footage as the heroes of the story learn that they need to kill the heads of the zombies in order to kill them. The story for the film features a small town being overrun with zombies and a small band of people who gather together to stop them.

The awesome cast of the film includes Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Chloë Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, Rosie Perez, Iggy Pop, Sara Driver, RZA, Selena Gomez, Carol Kane, Austin Butler, Luka Sabbat and Tom Waits.

The Dead Don’t Die was written and directed by Jim Jarmusch and when talking about why he decided to make a zombie film, the director told Film Comment:

“I don’t know. I don’t know why I decide to do anything. Just the inherent metaphorical potency of zombies, especially now. All the behavior of sheep. [George] Romero, too, focuses on consumerism as a malignancy. It’s good metaphor, for sure, for now. They are kind of a modern mythology.”

The Dead Don’t Die is set to hit theaters on June 14th. You can watch the extremely fun new trailer below, and I also included a couple new clips.

Harvey Keitel’s Ten Best Films

10 best Harvey Keitel movies

Harvey Keitel’s ten best films

ComingSoon.net is counting down our ten favorite films starring Harvey Keitel, who has had many gripping roles over his decades-long career. Check out our choices in the gallery below!

An actor lucky enough to take part in some of the most influential films of the back half of the 20th century, Harvey Keitel is an instantly recognizable and incredibly respectable performer. Often seen embodying hard-boiled or otherwise tough and masculine characters, Keitel can play things much softer if need be. He’s so great he provides an instant boost to any project his name is attached to.

With names like Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, Jane Campion, Paul Schrader, and Ridley Scott littered all over his filmography, Keitel is a bona fide all-star with the films to prove it. He’s gristly, sardonic, intimidating, and just plain tough wen he needs to be, yet has the capability of being tender and heartfelt if the role calls for such behavior. With a filmography like this, it’s clear that Keitel is one of the all-time greats.

The CW Not Renewing Streaming Deal with Netflix

The CW Not Renewing Streaming Deal with Netflix

The CW not renewing streaming deal with Netflix

Deadline reports that the output deal between Netflix and The CW will not be renewed after expiring this spring.

What does this mean for fans who wait to watch their shows on Netflix instead of week-to-week? Shows that were previously under the agreement and aired during the current 2018 – 2019 season, like Riverdale, Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl, will continue to stream on Netflix with their past seasons well into the future. It remains to be seen if their future seasons will still go to Netflix through the deal or not.

New shows like Batwoman, Nancy Drew, and the Riverdale spin-off Katy Keen will not automatically go to Netflix; instead they’ll have to bid for them against other streaming services. Batwoman specifically will likely end up on the WarnerMedia’s planned streaming service, but Nancy Drew and Katy Keen could still land on Netflix.

It remains to be seen if future seasons of CW shows already on Netflix will still go to the streaming service through the deal or not. There’s also the question of the international distribution of CW shows like Riverdale, which is released by the streaming service in the UK among other market.s

This marks the second major deal with Netflix that has been axed after Disney ended their theatrical film deal with Netflix ahead of their Disney+ app’s debut.
