Margot Robbie Explains How BIRDS OF PREY Pays Homage to Quentin Tarantino, and His Reaction

Margot Robbie has made it clear since getting to work with Quentin Tarantino on their most recent film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, that she is having a total fan girl moment, and this is a moment in her career that has been a long time coming. So the fact that a small, behind the scenes nod is paying homage to the director her next film, Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), it only makes sense. Robbie explained how her next film connects to a Tarantino classic in a recent interview with MTV (via heroichollywood). Here’s what she had to say:

“In Pulp Fiction, when Uma and John Travolta are having their five-dollar milkshake, she’s explaining the pilot…and she talks about Fox Force Five. In our movie, there are five prominent women, and like everything, we always throw references to Tarantino movements and pray to inject into the film. So, it felt fitting. Also, I asked Quentin, ‘Would you mind if we use the working title Fox Force Five?’ He thought it was really funny.”

I love stories like this, when the people who make movies get to have their own fan moments and add little Easter eggs in the backgrounds. Check out Once Upon a Time in Hollywood in theatres now, and Birds of Prey in theatres February 7, 2020.

Kate Kane (Rose) never planned to be Gotham’s new vigilante. Three years after Batman mysteriously disappeared, Gotham is a city in despair. Without the Caped Crusader, the Gotham City Police Department was overrun and outgunned by criminal gangs. Enter Jacob Kane (Dougray Scott) and his military-grade Crows Private Security, which now protects the city with omnipresent firepower and militia. Years before, Jacob’s first wife and daughter were killed in the crossfire of Gotham crime. He sent his only surviving daughter, Kate Kane, away from Gotham for her safety. After a dishonorable discharge from military school and years of brutal survival training, Kate returns home when the Alice in Wonderland gang targets her father and his security firm, by kidnapping his best Crow officer Sophie Moore (Meagan Tandy). Although remarried to wealthy socialite Catherine Hamilton-Kane (Elizabeth Anweis), who bankrolls the Crows, Jacob is still struggling with the family he lost, while keeping Kate — the daughter he still has — at a distance.

But Kate is a woman who’s done asking for permission. In order to help her family and her city, she’ll have to become the one thing her father loathes — a dark knight vigilante. With the help of her compassionate stepsister, Mary (Nicole Kang), and the crafty Luke Fox (Camrus Johnson), the son of Wayne Enterprises’ tech-guru Lucius Fox, Kate Kane continues the legacy of her missing cousin, Bruce Wayne, as Batwoman. Still holding a flame for her ex-girlfriend, Sophie, Kate uses everything in her power to combat the dark machinations of the psychotic Alice (Rachel Skarsten), who’s always somewhere slipping between sane and insane. Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, she must first overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.

TWD Season 10 Kicks off 10 Weeks of Reveals with First Look Photos of Gamma

AMC Kicks Off The Walking Dead Season 10 Reveals Leading Up to Premiere

TWD Season 10 kicks off 10 weeks of reveals with first look photos of Gamma

In the ten weeks leading up to The Walking Dead Season 10 premiere on Sunday, October 6 at 9 pm ET/8 pm CT, AMC will be revealing information on the new season each week across TWD social platforms, including photos, videos, and never before seen content. The reveals kicked off today with first-look photos of Thora Birch as the Whisperer Gamma, which you can check out in the gallery below!

As announced on The Walking Dead panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Thora Birch (American Beauty, Clear and Present Danger, Hocus Pocus) will join the cast as Gamma in the upcoming 10th season. Gamma is a Whisperer sentry fiercely protective of Alpha. She is a believer and committed to the Whisperers’ way of life.

The Walking Dead is a story that started 10 years ago with one man trying to find his family. That family grew and gradually communities took shape. They fought and survived, thrived and gave birth to a new generation. It is a tale of humankind and there are more stories to tell.

It is now Spring, a few months after the end of Season 9 when our group of survivors dared to cross into Whisperer territory during the harsh winter. The collected communities are still dealing with the after-effects of Alpha’s horrific display of power, reluctantly respecting the new borderlines being imposed on them, all while organizing themselves into a militia-style fighting force, preparing for a battle that may be unavoidable.

But the Whisperers are a threat unlike any they have ever faced. Backed by a massive horde of the dead it is seemingly a fight they cannot win. The question of what to do and the fear it breeds will infect the communities and give rise to paranoia, propaganda, secret agendas, and infighting that will test them as individuals and as a society. The very idea of whether civilization can survive in a world filled with the dead hangs in the balance.

The Walking Dead also stars Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Alanna Masterson, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Austin Amelio, Xander Berkeley, Khary Payton, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Kevin Carol has joined the cast as Virgil.

The First Trailer For ZOMBIELAND: DOUBLE TAP is Filled with Lots of Fun Action and Humor

“It’s time to nut up or shut up.”

Sony Pictures has dropped the first trailer for Zombieland: Double Tap, which features the return of Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Stone as they continue to fight to survive in a world that is overrun with zombies.

As you’ll see the movie is going to be filled with all kinds of hardcore zombie-killing action along with a lot of great humor that is sure to make fans laugh. The trailer starts off with the main characters shacking up in The White House and eventually they go on a journey to find Breslin, who ended up running off with a hippie.

There’s also a few other fun new characters that are introduced along the way. Here’s the synopsis that was released:

A decade after Zombieland became a hit film and a cult classic, the lead cast (Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Stone) have reunited with director Ruben Fleischer (Venom) and the original writers Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick (Deadpool) for Zombieland 2: Double Tap. In the sequel, written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and Dave Callaham, through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, these four slayers must face off against the many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.

Zombieland: Double Tap is set to be released on October 18th.

Rumored FANTASTIC FOUR Movie Details Tease How The Characters Will Be Handled in The MCU

rumored-fantastic-four-movie-details-tease-how-the-characters-will-be-handled-in-the-mcu-social.jpg

This past weekend, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced that they were developing a Fantastic Four movie for Phase 4. No other details were given, so fans have been left wondering what to expect from the film and how exactly these characters will be introduced into the MCU.

Well, Cosmic Book News claims to have an inside source at Marvel that offered up some possible details on what Marvel’s plans are for the Fantastic Four. This outlet has been hit and miss on certain rumors, so one thing you need to understand is that this has not been confirmed. They say that this is an idea that is being discussed at Marvel Studios and if there is some truth to it, it could work!

According to the report, “the Fantastic Four will be shown as existing in the past alongside Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Wasp.” So, where have they been the whole time? They say that they have been trapped in the Negative Zone, “and when they come out, it is the present day and that they haven’t aged.”

This is pretty much the same formula that was used for Captain America, instead of being frozen in ice, they were stuck in the Negative Zone. I really do like this idea. I personally hope that the first movie tells a whole story that is set in the 60s which leads them to get stuck in the Negative Zone.

Ant-Man director Peyton Reed has said he wants to direct Fantastic Four and has already pitched his vision of the story to Marvel, which is said to include a 1960s setting that involves the Quantum Realm, and possibly The Black Knight. There’s no word on if his is involved with this project, though.

The report goes on to speculate that if the Negative Zone is introduced and used as part of the origin for the Fantastic Four, “Annihilus could be introduced and possibly even some sort of adaptation of the Annihilation comic book event could happen as a film. Perhaps in the MCU, the Fantastic Four is responsible for Annihilus invading our world, which then introduces Nova or something.”

There’s still so much we don’t know about about how the future of Marvel is going to play out, but I love the Fantastic Four and with Marvel at the creative helm, we know that these characters are finally going to get the awesome film adaptation that they deserve!

What do you think about this Fantastic Four rumor? Would this be a good way to handle the characters? How would you introduce them into the MCU?

According to The Wrap, Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook) has signed on for the leading role in director Paulo Sorrentino’s upcoming film adaptation of Mob Girl, based on Pulitzer Prize-winner Teresa Carpenter’s 1992 true-crime novel Mob Girl: A Woman’s Life in the Underworld. You can buy a copy of the novel here.

Mob Girl tells the story of a mob wife named Arlyne Brickham. Growing up among racketeers on the Lower East Side of New York City, Arlyne Brickman associated with mobsters. Drawn to the glamorous and flashy lifestyle, she was soon dating “wiseguys” and running errands for them; but after years as a mob girlfriend, Arlyne began to get in on the action herself — eventually becoming a police informant and major witness in the government’s case against one of New York City’s well-known mafia families, the Colombo crime family.

Seeing this story from a woman’s point of view is a fresh and exciting approach to telling a classic mob story,” Makeready founder and CEO Brad Weston said in a statement. “We could not imagine a more perfect team of stellar filmmakers, with Jennifer starring in a tour de force role and Paolo at the helm, to bring Arlyne’s strength and unique perspective to life on screen.”

The film will be directed by Sorrentino (The Young Pope) and is set to be adapted by Angelina Burnett (The Americans).
