In The Old Man, Bridges will play Dan Chase, a retired CIA officer who absconded from the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid since. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past.

“Jeff Bridges is an iconic, extraordinary actor and to have him as the star of this series is an incredible moment for FX. Jon Steinberg and Robert Levine have delivered an amazing pilot script and Jeff is perfect for the role of Dan Chase. We’re also happy to be working with Warren Littlefield, with whom we’ve had such a terrific partnership on Fargo, along with our partners at Fox 21,” said FX president of originals Nick Grad.

The Old Man will be written by Jon Steinberg and Robert Levine (Black Sails). The duo will executive produce alongside Dan Shotz, Bridges, and David Schiff. Production on the Fox 21 Television Studios-based Warren Littlefield project will begin this fall.

This October, Criterion celebrates the arrival of spine number 1000, a Blu-ray collector’s set fit for the granddaddy of all movie monsters. In 1954, an enormous beast clawed its way out of the sea, destroying everything in its path—and changing movies forever. The arresting original Godzilla soon gave rise to an entire monster-movie genre (kaiju eiga), but the King of the Monsters continued to reign supreme: in fourteen fiercely entertaining sequels over the next two decades, Godzilla defended its throne against a host of other formidable creatures, transforming from a terrifying symbol of nuclear annihilation into a benevolent (if still belligerent) Earth protector. Collected here for the first time are all fifteen Godzilla films of Japan’s Showa era, in a landmark set showcasing the technical wizardry, fantastical storytelling, and indomitable international appeal that established the most iconic giant monster the cinema has ever seen.

Fox Executive Had To Give Up Marvel Properties To Kevin Feige, But Will Oversee The AVATAR Sequels

marvel.jpeg

With Disney’s acquisition of Fox, there has been a lot of speculation as to what would happen to the already established properties and the Fox staff connected to them. Slowly those questions have been answered, of course Avatar is staying but what about the Marvel characters? This last Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced that Fantastic Four was on the horizon as well as “Mutants”. Now we are starting to see the division of power and who wields it.

Deadline reports that Fox vice chairman and head of production, Emma Watts, who oversaw all Marvel productions, has decided to stay with Disney. It’s said that she will still be in charge of the Fox Productions with the exception of all Marvel properties. She had to give that up and hand over all Marvel entities, including Deadpool, to Feige. Disney hasn’t come out and confirmed this, but the report has been making it around the net with no resistance so I am assuming that it is only a matter of time until it is made official.

Watts was thought to be heading to Paramount where the former head of Fox studios, Jim Gianopulos, is currently chief. Honestly, would you leave if you knew that you had four Avatar movies coming out under your belt? Plus all of the deals that were made before Disney came into the picture. It is the smart move.

There’s Another TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Movie in The Works and It Will Be “Next Level Type Stuff”

When you have a popular franchise like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, you are going to want to soak if for all it’s worth and it looks like Paramount Pictures is preparing to get another movie made.

I’m personally not a fan of the past two TMNT movie that have been made. It’s a rare thing for me to hate movies, but I did not like those films and I wasn’t the only one. But, maybe the studio actually learned from their mistakes as they move forward on this new project.

The news comes from Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman, who when asked about a possible new film, he told CB that the new film will be “next level type stuff”:

“Stay tuned. It is a work in progress cause, you know, the experiences and so the fans reactions plus and minus to the 2014, 2016 movie, uh, Paramount I believe had taken those to heart and where they’d like to see the next reiteration go to so I think its going to be a next level type of stuff which I’m excited to see.”

There’s no word on if this next film would be a continuation of the first two films or if it will be a complete reboot. I sure hope that it’s a reboot, though! If the studio really has learned anything from the first two movie, then they’d know not to make another sequel!

Who know what exactly is being planned, but I would love to finally see a great TMNT movie get made! What would you like to see from a new TMNT movie? What do you think “next level type stuff” could be for the Ninja Turtles?
