Mondo Drops New Godzilla Gallery Collection

Mondo has dropped a limited edition flash sale for their new Godzilla gallery. Mondo was originally scheduled to have a Godzilla show at SXSW before the event was canceled, and they are now sharing their collection online. You can check out more details below and click here to grab your posters — but hurry, they’re selling out fast!

The collection includes a new poster, plus a variant edition, by Oliver Barrett. The release of Godzilla in 1954 changed everything. It breathed atomic life into an iconic character that inspired monster kids all over the world, and whose legacy spans over 60 years, 30+ films, and across toys, comic books, and video games. With Godzilla in all his destructive glory, Oliver’s poster is about as perfect a hat tip as you could hope for the iconic first film.

There are also posters from Tom Whalen for Shōwa era films Godzilla vs Megalon and Terror of Mechagodzilla. When Mondo first started putting together the artist roster for this collection, Tom was one of the first artists they asked as a lifelong kaiju kid. In Godzilla vs Megalon, Godzilla teams up with fan-favorite Jet Jaguar to battle against Megalon and awesome cyborg kaiju Gigan, while Terror of Mechagodzilla pits Godzilla against MechaGodzilla 2 and Titanosaurus. Tom always has a strong eye for design and composition, and these posters are brilliant examples of that. All four posters also feature beautiful metallic inks.

Let’s Talk About POKEMON: TWILIGHT WINGS Episode 3 – “Buddy”

The latest episode of Pokémon: Twilight Wings is out on YouTube and it’s fantastic. If you haven’t watched it yet, I’ve included the short video down below so you can watch it now!

In “Buddy,” we follow Hop’s Wooloo as it goes on a bit of an adventure. Wooloo is watching Leon and Bea’s match with Hop but Hop just keeps going on and on about Leon’s Charizard. It’s a classic case of a character talking about how amazing person/thing B is with person/thing A not hearing the final part that’s supposed to not make the speaker sound like a total jerk. You know, Hop bothered me in the games (I just found him a little annoying) and this really made me more peeved at him. Wooloo is amazing and tries to meet what it thinks are Hop’s expectations. In return, Hop doesn’t clarify until the very end that he doesn’t want Wooloo to be like anything else.

While Hop won’t shut up about Charizard, Wooloo runs off and sees part of the world on its own. A Yamper chases it, poor Wooloo, some kids start crowding it, poor Wooloo, and then it spots a Charmander which makes it a little mad. I really felt for this poor Wooloo and I still don’t know if Hop is good enough to have such an amazing Pokémon on his team.

I am loving Twilight Wings and all they’re bringing fans. The art is impeccable and the stories are powerful. I cannot wait for the next one.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost Share a SHAUN OF THE DEAD Coronavirus Update Video

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost recently teamed up again to create a fun and clever coronavirus-themed video that is an updated re-enactment of a classic Shaun of the Dead scene.

Remember the scene from the 2004 Edgar Wright directed film where Shaun (Pegg) and Ed (Frost) talk about their plan to survive in the zombie apocalypse? It’s such a great sequence, and I included it for you below to watch below as a refresher.

With the world currently in the state it’s in, the actors shared the following video in which Pegg and Frost reenacted the scene via a phone conversation with some timely coronavirus updates. It’s quite delightful and there’s no doubt fans are going to enjoy this. Ya gotta love these guys!

New Mutants' Josh Boone Describes Feelings on Dark Phoenix

New Mutants director Josh Boone throws shade at Dark Phoenix

Simon Kinberg’s Dark Phoenix had a rocky road leading up to its opening, and an even tougher one upon release. Now The New Mutants writer/director Josh Boone has revealed his feelings on the final entry in the mainline Fox X-Men franchise. (Via CBR)

In an interview with Empire, Boone shared he had feelings of relief upon the second release date delay for his film from February 2019 to August the same year, a move made by the studio to avoid it having to compete with its fellow franchise ender but one he favors given the reception it got.

Look, you can only go up after ‘Dark Phoenix,’” the director shared with Empire. “That’s not to say anything bad about the people involved, but it was what it was. Honestly, I feel less pressure now than I did ahead of [the first slated release date]. Because we’ve tested our movie so many times, and audiences have loved it.

Kinberg’s film, which also marked his directorial debut, was a notorious flop upon release, garnering a low 23% approval rating from critics on review aggregate Rotten Tomatoes and only earning $252.4 million on its $200 million production budget, causing 20th Century and now parent Disney to report losses between $100-200 million and the latter even saw a hefty stock drop as a result.

Boone’s horror-centric project has been delayed four times, with Fox initially doing so to avoid box office clashes with Deadpool 2 and Phoenix before pulling it from calendars amidst the Disney merger and was set to hit theaters on April 3, two years after its original schedule, before being pulled by Disney amidst global coronavirus concerns.

20th Century Studios in association with Marvel Entertainment presents The New Mutants, an original horror thriller set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.

The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy (SplitThe Witch) as Magik and Maisie Williams (Game of Thronesgen:LOCK) as Wolfsbane, with Henry Zaga (13 Reasons Why) as Sunspot, Blu Hunt as Dani Moonstar, and Stranger Things’ Charlie Heaton as Cannonball.

The New Mutants adapts the monthly comic book series of the same name that launched in 1982. Created by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod, The New Mutants follows on a group of teenage mutants as heroes in training in the Marvel Universe. The feature is expected to be a departure from the sci-fi-action spectacle of other X-Men films and is instead being described as a “Stephen King meets John Hughes”-style horror movie.

In November 2017, ComingSoon.net exclusively revealed a leaked concept animatic from the film, which features Wolfsbane, Magic, and Cannonball facing the Demon Bear.

What We Do in the Shadows is based on the 2014 vampire mockumentary film of the same name which follows a group of vampires (Taika Waititi, Clement, Jonathan Brugh, Ben Fransham) who live together in modern-day Wellington, New Zealand as they go through the mundane tasks of everyday life and of rooming with other people, as well as bringing in a vampire (Cori Gonzalez-Macuer) just turned by the group.

The series is written and executive-produced by Waititi and Clement. It stars Matt Berry (The IT Crowd), Kayvan Novak (Early Man), Natasia Demetriou (Year Friends) and Harvey Guillen (The Magicians).

The film earned rave reviews from critics upon release and quickly became an international cult classic, propelling Waititi and Clement even further into the spotlight as actors, writers, and directors. Since its release, the film has had multiple continuations in development, with a sequel set on the group of werewolves seen in the film led by Anton (Rhys Darby, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) still in active development, as well as a procedural comedy series based on the cops seen in the film as they encounter paranormal events around Wellington.

The 10-episode second season is scheduled to premiere on April 15 on FX and the next day on Hulu. The premiere will include the first two episodes, followed by a new episode each subsequent week.
