Basil Eidenbenz Replaces Thue Ersted Rasmussen as Eskel in The Witcher Season 2

Basil Eidenbenz (The Athena) is set to play Eskel in the second season of Netflix’s The Witcher adaptation, replacing Thue Ersted Rasmussen who was originally cast in the role but had to step away from the show due to “rescheduling because of COVID-19” (via Deadline).

The next season of The Witcher will feature Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones) as Nivellen and Kim Bodnia (Killing Eve) as Vesemir. Six other actors have also been cast for Season 2 including Paul Bullion (Peaky Blinders) as the witcher Lambert; Yasen Atour (Young Wallender) as Coën, a witcher from Poviss; Agnes Bjorn as Vereena, a powerful bruxa; Basil Eidenbenz (Denial) as Eskel, Geralt’s friend from his youth; Aisha Fabienne Ross (The Danish Girl) as Lydia, a sorceress; and Mecia Simson (Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model) as the preternaturally beautiful elf Francesca.

Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

The series stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Princess Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia, and Joey Batey as Jaskier. Season 2 will also feature the return of Tom Canton as Filavandrel, Lilly Cooper as Murta, Jeremy Crawford as Yarpin Zigrin, Eamon Farren as Cahir, Mahesh Jadu as Vilgefortz, Terence Maynard as Artorius, Lars Mikkelson as Stregobor, Mimi Ndiweni as Fringilla Vigo, Royce Pierrseson as Istredd, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte as Dara, Anna Shaffer as Triss Merigold, and Therica Wilson Read as Sabrina.

The Witcher series for Netflix is based on the stories and novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, of which there are eight, which themselves formulated the popular Witcher games franchise which has since spawned a comic book series and a tabletop game. The book series was previously adapted for television in Poland.

Schmidt Hissrich serves as executive producer and showrunner for The Witcher. She’s known for her work (writing and co-executive producing) on The Defenders, Daredevil, and Power. Sean Daniel is set to executive produce under the Sean Daniel Company with his partner Jason Brown. Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko of Platige Image are also executive producers as well.

All eight episodes of the first season are already available for streaming on Netflix.

Shudder announces return of Eli Roth’s History of Horror: Uncut

With a second season of the TV series on the way, Shudder has announced the return date for the second season of its companion podcast Eli Roth’s History of Horror: Uncut, whose first two episodes are available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other podcast platforms now!

An extended audio companion to the television series AMC Visionaries: Eli Roth’s History of Horror, whose new season premieres on AMC on October 10, the Uncut podcast offers listeners hours of never-before-heard, candid conversations with horror luminaries featured in the show. The first two episodes showcase in-depth discussions with Megan Fox, whose 2009 film Jennifer’s Body was met with hostility upon release but has since been lauded as modern classic, and Bill Hader, who offers new perspective on his role as the adult Richie Tozier in It Chapter Two.

“The reaction to season one was beyond my wildest expectations,” Roth said in a statement. “We became a top five podcast as soon as we debuted, and it shows the overwhelming excitement from the fans to hear these incredible stories directly from the artists. On the TV show, we have to condense everyone into one hour but on the podcast, we can really take our time, hear the full conversation and learn so much more. The stories they tell are fascinating and insightful and really make you see their work through a different lens. I’m so thankful to AMC and Shudder for letting us go much bigger with Season 2. These stories are for all time, and will be enjoyed by generations of fans for years to come.”

Future episodes will feature actors Nancy Allen (Dressed to Kill) and Ken Foree (Dawn of the Dead), filmmakers Ari Aster (Hereditary), Roger Corman (The Masque of the Red Death), Mary Harron (American Psycho), Don Mancini (creator of the Child’s Play franchise), Barbara Muschietti (producer of the It films), Greg Nicotero (showrunner of Creepshow), André Øvredal (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark), Eli Roth (Hostel), actor/director/FX master Tom Savini (Friday the 13th), Joel Schumacher (The Lost Boys) and Rob Zombie (3 from Hell).

Eli Roth’s History of Horror Uncut is hosted by Eli Roth featuring interviews conducted by Kurt Sayenga. The podcast is executive produced by Roth, Sayenga, Steven Michaels, Jodi Flynn, Joseph Freed and Allison Berkley. Eli Roth’s History of Horror is produced by The Content Group and Marwar Junction Productions. The first two episodes are available now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other platforms, with new episodes set to be released every Monday, and the full Uncut season will be available on Shudder later this year.

XYZ Monsters and ZEXAL Come to YU-GI-OH! DUEL LINKS Tomorrow

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links is getting a big update tomorrow. It was announced on Friday that the world of Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal is coming to the hit PC and mobile game. What does this mean for fans? Well, for starters, it means that XYZ summoning will be introduced to the game. Also, the Zexal World will be brought in along with characters like Yuma Tsukumo & Astral, Tori Meadows, and Bronk Stone who can be unlocked via in-game missions.

To celebrate the new World, Characters, and XYZ Monsters, players will find the 30th Main BOX of cards which includes the classic XYZ Monster, Number 39: Utopia. Plus, there will be log-in bonuses like the UR Zubaba General (Prismatic) and UR Gagaga Magician (Prismatic), UR and SR tickets, 1,000 Gems, a Skill Ticket, and Zexal-themed Card Sleeves and Mat.

Steven Soderbergh assembles ensemble cast for HBO Max thriller

As production gets underway on the crime thriller, Steven Soderbergh’s No Sudden Move, formerly titled Kill Switch, has assembled an ensemble cast including Don Cheadle (Ocean’s Trilogy), Benicio del Toro (Sicario), David Harbour (Black Widow), Jon Hamm (Tag), Ray Liotta (Marriage Story) and many more!

Alongside the five, the star-studded roster will also include Amy Seimetz (The Secrets We Keep), Kieran Culkin (Succession), Brendan Fraser (Doom Patrol), Noah Jupe (Honey Boy), Bill Duke (High Flying Bird), Frankie Shaw (SMILF) and Julia Fox (Uncut Gems). Production on the film, which is following strict pandemic safety protocols, is currently underway in Detroit, Michigan.

“The last time I shot a movie in Detroit with a great script and a great cast things worked out really well, so I’m very excited behind my mask right now,” Soderbergh said in a statement.

Casey Silver (Mosaic, Godless) is attached to produce the project, which was penned by Bill & Ted Face the Music co-scribe Ed Solomon, and is one of two projects Soderbergh has set at the WarnerMedia streaming platform alongside the Meryl Streep-starring Let Them All Talk, which is expected to debut later this year.

“It’s a pleasure to begin production on another project with Steven Soderbergh, Casey Silver and Ed Solomon,” Casey Bloys, Chief Content Officer for HBO and HBO Max, said in a statement. “We have an incredible partner in Warner Bros. Pictures and an extraordinarily talented cast – we couldn’t be happier to bring No Sudden Move to HBO Max.”

“Steven is a prolific, forward-thinking director who has a two-decade history of making movies at Warner Bros,” Toby Emmerich, Chairman, Warner Bros. Pictures Group, said in a statement. “We look forward to continuing his legacy at WarnerMedia with his intense crime thriller.”

Set in the 1950s Detroit, No Sudden Move will follow a trio of criminals who carry out a home invasion, only to wonder if they’ve been double-crossed when the job goes sideways.

Soderbergh’s recent projects also include the Netflix movies High Flying Bird and The Laundromat, and recently wrapped his latest directing gig Let Them All Talk, starring Meryl Streep, Gemma Chan, Lucas Hedges, Candice Bergen, and Dianne Wiest. He also recently produced Scott Z. Burns’ The Report and served as executive producer on Bill & Ted Face the Music.

The goal they had set for this bad boy is 6,000 pre-orders, and it costs buyers $349.99. They’ve already surpassed the goal with over 7,000 backers so far.

The Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Razor Crest is an amazingly detailed 30-inch long replica of the Razor Crest, which is 20-inches wide and 10.5-inches tall when perched on its retractable landing gear.

It also comes with a Star Wars: The Vintage Collection 3.75-Inch The Mandalorian Figure in Beskar armor with a one-of-a-kind soft goods cape.

Here are the specs:

This Vintage Collection Razor Crest is designed to be compatible with all of the Vintage scale figures. To do so, we had to make this thing pretty big. It’s going to be 30 inches long (with the main cannons), 20 inches wide, and 10.5 inches tall when it’s sitting on the landing gear.
