Chloë Grace Moretz Set to Star in Series Adaptation of THE PERIPHERAL at Amazon

Chloë Grace Moretz, known for her roles in Kick-Ass, The Equalizer, Suspiria, Greta, and more, has signed on to star in the upcoming series adaptation of The Peripheral at Amazon. The show is based on the book by William Gibson, and Scott B. Smith is on board to write, executive produce, and showrun.

Here’s the synopsis:

The series centers on Flynne Fisher (Moretz), a woman trying to hold together the pieces of her broken family in a forgotten corner of tomorrow’s America. Flynne is smart, ambitious and doomed. She has no future – until the future comes calling for her.

I love Moretz, and I’m always glad to see her take on a new project. She will next be seen in Roseanne Liang’s Shadow in the Cloud, is currently in production on the sci-fi thriller feature Mother/Android, and is set to star in the live-action film adaptation of the cartoon Tom and Jerry.

Sabrina Carpenter Set to Star in and Produce ALICE IN WONDERLAND Musical Reimagining at Netflix

sabrina+carpenter.jpg

Sabrina Carpenter has worked on several films, most recently, Netflix titles Tall Girl and Work It. The actress is reteaming with the streamer on a new project in which she will act as well as produce, and that is a musical reimagining of the classic tale, Alice In Wonderland. The musical will be a “contemporary take on the classic Lewis Carroll story. While details are being kept under wraps, the modern-day musical will be set against the backdrop of a music festival called ‘Wonderland’.”

Ross Evans will write the screenplay, which is still in very early stages of development. The story of Alice In Wonderland has been done a handful of times, most memorably by Disney, but we have never had a modern-day take on it, so this may be an interesting iteration. And a musical version set at a music festival makes sense. It will probably be fun, and will hopefully have some good music.

Their former home and training ground—and the site of humanity’s most cataclysmic military defeat near the end of the Covenant War—Reach still hides myriad secrets after all these years. Blue Team’s mission is to penetrate the rubble-filled depths of CASTLE Base and recover top-secret assets locked away in Dr. Catherine Halsey’s abandoned laboratory—assets which may prove to be humanity’s last hope against Cortana. Establishing themselves as a vicious occupying force on the devastated planet, this enemy will soon transform Blue Team’s simple retrieval operation into a full-blown crisis. Joe Manganiello Is a Homeless Hero From Another Dimension in Trailer for ARCHENEMY

I’ve got a kickass trailer for a gritty new genre film coming out titled Archenemy. The movie stars Joe Manganiello in the role of Max Fist, a homeless man who claims that he’s a hero from another dimension.

It’s explained that Max Fist “fell through time and space to earth, where he has no powers. No one believes his stories except for a local teen named Hamster.”

Through a series of events, a couple of teens find themselves in trouble, and Max jumps in to help them survive. The movie is billed as an intriguing superhero sci-fi action-adventure horror crime thriller.

The movie comes from director Adam Egypt Mortimer (Daniel Isn’t Real), and it also stars Skylan Brooks, Glenn HowertonZolee GriggsJoseph D. Reitman, and Amy Seimetz. I like what I’m seeing in this trailer! It looks like a dark, gritty, and merciless flick!

Archenemy will be in select US theaters and also on VOD on December 11th.
