Paramount Animation to Adapt Children’s Adventure Book Series C.O.S.M.O.S.

Paramount Animation has picked up the rights to the upcoming children’s adventure book series C.O.S.M.O.S., written by Tom Wheeler, writer of the Puss in Boots films, as well as The Lego Ninjago Movie, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, and creator of the Netflix series Cursed.

Wheeler is set to write the screen adaptation of the novels, which are described as “Men in Black meets Willy Wonka with a shout out to Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,“ and “an epic, mind-bending adventure that celebrates curiosity, diversity and the power of science to save our world,” according to studio insiders.

The first book in the series is titled The Doomsday Vault, and it isn’t scheduled to hit shelves for over a year, on March 15, 2022, so it will probably be a while before we actually see the end result onscreen. Does this sound like a series you’ll enjoy reading and seeing adapted?

Set in 1981, Ritchie (Olly Alexander), Roscoe (Omari Douglas), and Colin (Callum Scott Howells) are young lads, strangers at first, leaving home at 18 and heading off to London with hope and ambition and joy… and walking straight into a virus that most of the world ignores. Year by year, episode by episode, crossing the whole decade, their lives change as the mystery of that illness starts as a rumor, then a threat, then a terror, and then something that binds them together in the fight.

It’s the story of their friends, lovers, and families too, especially Jill (Lydia West), the girl who loves them and helps them, and galvanizes them in the battles to come. Together they will endure the horror of the epidemic, the pain of rejection and the prejudices that gay men faced throughout the decade.

There are terrible losses and wonderful friendships. And complex families, pushed to the limit and beyond. This is a series that remembers the boys we lost, and celebrates those lives that burned so brightly.

Marvel Comics Releases New Promo Art For HEROES REBORN

The other day, Marvel Comics teased a new Heroes Reborn story is on the way and now they’ve shown off some images of characters to help fans get excited. We’ve got Wanda, Coulson, Peter Parker, Hulk, Juggernaut, Logan, Reed Richards and Ben Grimm, and Thanos art by Carlos Pacheco. The inks for Coulson and Peter Parker were done by Mariano Taibo with the others done by Rafael Fontirez. The color for the artwork was done by Matt Milla.

Sadly, that’s the extent of what we know at this time, but more news is set to come over the next week.
