Paramount Animation to Adapt Children’s Adventure Book Series C.O.S.M.O.S.

Paramount Animation has picked up the rights to the upcoming children’s adventure book series C.O.S.M.O.S., written by Tom Wheeler, writer of the Puss in Boots films, as well as The Lego Ninjago Movie, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, and creator of the Netflix series Cursed.

Wheeler is set to write the screen adaptation of the novels, which are described as “Men in Black meets Willy Wonka with a shout out to Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,“ and “an epic, mind-bending adventure that celebrates curiosity, diversity and the power of science to save our world,” according to studio insiders.

The first book in the series is titled The Doomsday Vault, and it isn’t scheduled to hit shelves for over a year, on March 15, 2022, so it will probably be a while before we actually see the end result onscreen. Does this sound like a series you’ll enjoy reading and seeing adapted?
