TOMB RAIDER 2 Will Be Written and Directed By LOVECRAFT COUNTRY Creator Misha Green

MGM is moving forward with its Tomb Raider sequel! Alicia Vikander is set to reprise her role in the film as Lara Croft, and the creator and director of HBO’s Lovecraft Country, Misha Green, has been hired to write and direct the movie.

Tomb Raider 2 will mark Green’s feature film directorial debut and it seems like a great first film project for her! I enjoyed most of what she did with Lovecraft Country, so if she can bring some of that wild imagination to Tomb Raider, that could be a blast!

The last Tomb Raider movie that was made came from director Roar Uthaug and I enjoyed it! I’ve been looking forward to the sequel getting made, and with Green jumping on board to develop it, this could turn out to be a solid sequel. It’ll be interesting to see how the adventurous story of this character will continue.

Green is the showrunner and executive producer of Lovecraft Country, alongside Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams. She wrote and is producing The Mother for Netflix, producing Warner Brothers’ Cleopatra Jones and Makeready’s The Gilded Ones. She is also the co-creator, writer, and producer of the WGN series Underground.

What do you think about Green taking on the writing and directing duties of Tomb Raider 2?
