The Taito EGRET II Mini comes hot on the heels of Sega’s somewhat similar-looking Astro City Mini machine and gives people with tiny, tiny hands the ability to uncomfortably get down with 50 classic Taito arcade titles. 40 as-yet-unconfirmed games will be bundled with the system at launch, with a further 10 being sold on SD card in an expansion pack, complete with a trackball and paddle controller.

The EGRET II Mini has some pretty cool features, such as the ability to flip the screen from landscape to portrait and switch the built-in stick from 4-way to 8-way functionality. Control pads (sold separately) can be connected to the machine for those who have normal-sized hands, and an HDMI-out port means that you won’t need to squint.

The machine will retail for ¥18,678 ($170) in Japan when it releases on March 2, 2002. A US/European launch has yet to be confirmed.

We Used to Live Here (Check out the first part of the novella here) centers around a homeowner who gets a knock at her door while her girlfriend is at work. On the other of the door, she finds a peculiar family consists of a husband, wife, and three kids. The man tells her that he once lived in the house and wanted to take a look around. Brutal Trailer for the Eco-Horror Creature Feature GAIA

thrilling-trailer-for-the-eco-horror-creature-feature-gaia.jpg

I’ve got a super creepy trailer here for you to watch for a new horror film titled Gaia. This eco-horror creature feature is set in a forest that’s pissed off and is out for blood. As you’ll see, the film goes all out with the horror content with the blood, gore, and other crazy disturbing imagery.

In the film, “an injured forest ranger on a routine mission is saved by two off-the-grid survivalists. What is initially a welcome rescue grows more suspicious as the son and his renegade father reveal a cultish devotion to the forest. When their cabin is attacked by a strange being it’s clear there is a far greater threat in this unrelenting wilderness.”

The movie was directed by Jaco Bouwer, and if you like lots of scary shit in the horror films you watch, this movie has got it. The film stars Monique RockmanCarel NelAnthony Oseyemi, and Alex Van Dyk.

Gaia opens in theaters on June 18, 2021, followed by an On-Demand release on June 25, 2021.

INDIANA JONES 5 Might Use a Scrapped LAST CRUSADE Storyline Involving Indy Battling a Ghost

indiana-jones-5-is-set-to-start-shooting-in-the-uk-next-week.jpg

As you may have seen, some set photos from Indiana Jones 5 have surfaced. These set photos come from the film’s first shooting location in Northumberland, England at Bamburgh Castle. Well, this setting has led some fans to believe that Indiana Jones 5 might be using a storyline for a scrapped Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade script.

Den of Geek suggests that producer Steven Spielberg and director James Mangold might be taking that unused screenplay for the upcoming film’s opening. That original script was written by Chris Columbus, and it was titled Indiana Jones and the Monkey King.

The film starts out with Indiana Jones battling a Scottish ghost named Baron Seamus Seagrove II while he’s on vacation. This is the opening that fans speculate could be used in the upcoming Indiana Jones sequel.

In Columbus’s script, Indy is enjoying a fishing vacation when strange things start happening in a local village. This leads him to a haunted castle, described as “an enormous, 16th century stone structure. Tall, foreboding towers, lined with menacing gargoyles, pierce the night sky.” Apparently, the ghost has been murdering people.

This sounds like an episode of Scooby-Doo, but I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing Indiana Jones battling a ghost. It wouldn’t be the craziest thing that’s happened to him!

What do you think about all this? Do you think Spielberg and Mangold might actually use this idea for the film’s opening?

In the heart of the 1970s, amid a flurry of feathered hair and flared jeans, Gru (Steve Carell) is growing up in the suburbs. A fanboy of a supervillain supergroup known as the Vicious 6, Gru hatches a plan to become evil enough to join them. Luckily, he gets some mayhem-making backup from his loyal followers, the Minions. Together, Kevin, Stuart, Bob, and Otto—a new Minion sporting braces and a desperate need to please—deploy their skills as they and Gru build their first lair, experiment with their first weapons, and pull off their first missions.

When the Vicious 6 oust their leader, legendary fighter Wild Knuckles (Alan Arkin), Gru interviews to become their newest member. It doesn’t go well (to say the least) and only gets worse after Gru outsmarts them and suddenly finds himself the mortal enemy of the apex of evil. On the run, Gru will turn to an unlikely source for guidance, Wild Knuckles himself, and discover that even bad guys need a little help from their friends.

Voice stars also include, as members of the Vicious 6, Taraji P. Henson as cool and confident leader Belle Bottom, Jean-Claude Van Damme as Jean Clawed, Lucy Lawless as Nunchuck, Dolph Lundgren as Svengeance, and Danny Trejo as Stronghold. The film also features Russell Brand as Dr. Nefario, an aspiring mad scientist, Michelle Yeoh as Master Chow, an acupuncturist with mad Kung Fu skills, and Oscar winner Julie Andrews as Gru’s maddeningly self-absorbed mom.
