Every Easter Egg Spotted in The Trailer For Marvel’s SHANG-CHI and Abomination and Sorcerer Fight Explained

Not long ago, Marvel Studios released an awesome full trailer for its martial arts action-adventure film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. That trailer was filled with all kinds of exciting footage and one of the big fan freak-out moments was seeing Abomination fighting a sorcerer.

Screen Crush has since released a video breakdown of the trailer that points out all of the Easter eggs in the movie and also explains the Abomination and sorcerer fight scene. The video came with the following note:

The new trailer for Shang Chi: Legend of the Ten Rings is here! We get a lot more plot details about the Mandarin, the Ten Rings organization (and the literal ten rings, a frickin’ DRAGON and the return of the Abomination! In this video we break down all of the Easter Eggs and connections to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and theorize about what all this is leading to.

It’s looking more and more like this is leading to the MCU’s Thunderbolts, with US Agent, Baron Zemo, Emil Blonsky and more on the team.

The film was directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Short Term 12, The Glass Castle) from a script written by Dave Callaham (Wonder Woman 1984, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2). It stars Sam Liu, who seems great in the role. He’s joined by Awkwafina as Katy and Tony Leung as Wenwu. Michelle Yeoh is also in the film.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is set for release on September 3rd.

THE TOMORROW WAR: Missed Opportunity OR Timeless Classic | Movie Review

delete me.JPG

The Amazon orginal movie The Tomorrow War is the first live-action feature film from director Chris McKay (The Lego Batman Movie) and stars Chris Pratt, Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck), J.K. Simmons, Sam Richardson, and Edwin Hodge. Soldiers from the future recruit people from the past to fight vicious invaders that have decimated the human race. Sounds interesting, right? But is this Amazon orginal movie just more of the same?

Epic New Trailer For MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: REVELATION – The Final Battle Begins

epic-new-trailer-for-masters-of-the-universe-revelation-the-final-battle-begins.jpg

Netflix has released a badass new trailer for Kevin Smith’s Masters of the Universe: Revelation! I’m so freakin’ excited for this series! It looks seriously epic! I grew up watching the original He-Man series, I had a ton of the action figures, and I’m just a huge fan! As I watched this trailer the feelings of nostalgia filled my soul and I felt like a kid again! I love feeling!

This new series picks up where the classic original characters left off decades ago. “After a cataclysmic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, Eternia is fractured and the Guardians of Grayskull are scattered. And after decades of secrets tore them apart, it’s up to Teela to reunite the broken band of heroes, and solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to restore Eternia and prevent the end of the universe.”

This series has an awesome voice cast that includes Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mark Hamill, and Chris Wood headlining the series. Gellar will voice Teela, with Hamill set to play Skeletor, and Wood will be He-Man/Prince Adam. Lena Headey will voice Evil-Lyn, with Liam Cunningham as Man-At-Arms, Griffin Newman as Orko, Stephen Root as Cringer, Diedrich Bader as King Randor, Alicia Silverstone as Queen Marlena, and Susan Eisenberg as Sorceress.

The series is being produced by Mattel Television with Rob David, VP of Mattel TV and author of He-Man: the Eternity War, and the show is being developed by writers Eric Carrasco (Supergirl), Tim Sheridan (Reign of the Supermen), Diya Mishra (Magic: The Gathering), and Marc Bernardin (Alphas).

Part 1 of Masters of the Universe: Revelation premieres July 23rd, only on Netflix.

Doom Eternal Horde Mode Announced, Battlemode Getting Improved

Doom Eternal Horde Mode

Id Software announced its most recent entry in the first-person shooter franchise, Doom Eternal, will be receiving a single-player horde mode in lieu of its previously announced Invasion Mode. Additionally, the developer plans to refresh its current multiplayer mode Battlemode.

The shift in focus was announced in an update from id Software executive producer Marty Stratton. As written in the update, the cancellation of the Invasion Mode is due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the shift to working remotely. Additionally, the creation of the new Doom Eternal horde mode is due to the fan feedback on both The Ancient Gods expansions, and master levels.

Stratton also mentioned that Battlemode is getting a bit of a rework, including more a competitive structure, a new map, gameplay improvements, and balance updates. Information on both the new Doom Eternal horde mode and Battlemode updates is expected to be revealed at this year’s QuakeCon, which is currently scheduled for August 19 through August 21.

Here is what Stratton said in the update about the upcoming changes:

“As many are aware, we intended to release a free Invasion Mode update for the game; however, the unforeseen consequences of the pandemic and remote working impacted the progress of development for this addition. Over this time, we have also seen and heard how many of you enjoy the range of gameplay and combat available in the expansions and master levels. With these factors in mind, we have decided to redirect our focus from Invasion Mode to creating a totally new single-player horde mode. We’re confident this horde mode will offer you more of the diversity and challenge you’re looking for in the game. In addition, the team continues to work on a refresh of BattleMode that includes a more competitive, rank-based structure, a number of gameplay and balance updates and another new map. We expect to share more information at QuakeCon in August.”

Doom Eternal‘s Invasion Mode was a previously announced post-launch mode that would allow players to join another player’s game and control enemies. However, it seems that challenges arose due to the pandemic last year, which led to its cancellation.

Stratton’s update also talks about Doom Eternal‘s most recent update, simply titled “Update 6.” This came alongside the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game that enabled ray tracing.

A new US trailer has been released for the strange and quirky comedy Mandibles from French musician/filmmaker Quentin Dupieux. The film premiered last year at the Venice Film Festival to rave reviews. The film stars Adèle Exarchopoulos, Grégoire Ludig, Bruno Lochet, Coralie Russier, India Hair, David Marsais, with Dave Chapman as “La Mouche” (aka The Fly).

The film is simply described as, “Jean-Gab and Manu, two simple-minded friends, find a giant fly stuck in the trunk of a car and decide to train it to earn money with it.” This looks wonderfully weird and funny. Check out the trailer and poster below, and watch Mandibles in select US theaters and on VOD starting July 23rd, 2021.
