The series comes from High Fidelity’s Veronica West and the series also stars Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Stephan James, Ari Graynor, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Francois Arnaud and Millie Brady.

Brad Pitt’s upcoming action film Bullet Train looks like it’s going to be an incredibly fun movie-going experience. I love these kinds of quirky action movies and there’s no doubt that director David Leitch (John Wick, Deadpool 2, and Hobbs & Shaw) made a film that audiences are going to have a blast watching!
I’ve got two new TV spots for the movie to share with you today, and they offer up some exciting and amusing new footage.
The film is based on the Japanese novel, Maria Beetle, written by Kotaro Isaka. The story follows five assassins who “find themselves on a fast-moving bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka with only a few stops in between. They discover their missions are not unrelated to each other. The question becomes who will make it off the train alive and what awaits them at the terminal station?”
The movie features an ensemble cast of “eclectic, diverse assassins – all with connected yet conflicting objectives – set against the backdrop of a non-stop ride through modern-day Japan.” The full cast includes Joey King, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, Sandra Bullock,Lady Gaga, Masi Oka, and Andrew Koji.
Sony Pictures will release Bullet Train in theaters on July 15th, 2022.
Apple TV+ has released a trailer for a new comedy series titled Loot. Maya Rudolph stars in the series as Molly Novak, a billionaire who is getting a divorce and is “ready to save the world.”
In the series, “After divorcing her husband of 20 years, Molly Novak must figure out what to do with her $87 billion settlement. She decides to reengage with her charitable foundation and reconnect with the real world—finding herself along the way.”
The series was created by Alan Yang (Little America, Master of None, Parks and Recreation) and Matt Hubbard (30 Rock, Forever, Parks and Recreation), and it looks like a charming and funny series. There’s a lot of great creative talent involved with the project, and I’ll definitely be watching.
The series also stars Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation), Michaela Jaé Rodriguez (Pose), Ron Funches (Undateable), Nat Faxon (Married) and Joel Kim Booster (Sunnyside).
Hot Toys has revealed an awesome new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness collectible action figure, and this one features Dead Strange. I was hoping that Hot Toys would develop an action figure for this zombie version of Strange, so it was great to see that they have, and they did an incredible job bringing it to life in action figure form! The attention to detail on this thing is incredible, and I want one so bad!
It’s been a long time since I’ve purchased a Hot Toys figure, and I really want to pull the trigger on this one. My wife might kill me, though, if I do! Worth it? Maybe.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – 1/6th scale Dead Strange Collectible Figure
“This time it’s gonna take more than killing me to kill me.”
Doctor Strange dreamwalks into his variant’s corpse from the post-incursion universe. When Dead Strange heads for Mount Wundagore for the final showdown, he’s set upon by the Souls of Damned, who scream at him for possessing a dead body. This desecrates the natural order of the universe, and the hellish sprits were sent to stop him.
Today, Hot Toys thrilled to present the highly-anticipated 1/6th scale Dead Strange collectible figure and his cape of demons inspired by the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Meticulously crafted based on the appearance of Benedict Cumberbatch as Dead Strange in the movie, the figure features a newly developed head sculpt and hair sculpture with disgustingly beautiful details; a decaying tunic outfit and sculpted boots, a distressed cape with sculpted heads of demons; the greatly detailed Souls of Damned accessories to drag on Strange, and a dynamic figure base.
The Dead Strange figure will surely be a unique one to your Marvel collection!

Netflix has dropped a teaser trailer for a new period horror drama titled 1899. The series comes from Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, who previously created the Dark series.
1899 is described as a “visually stunning Odyssee where nothing is as it seems. The makers of the internationally acclaimed series Dark, take us to the year 1899 aboard the Kerberos. What is lost will be found.”
As you’ll see in the trailer, dark and sinister things are afoot. I also included a video that offers a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the series, and they used the same Volume technology that Lucasfilm has been using for their Star Wars shows.
1899 looks like a great show and I look forward to diving into it! Emily Beecham stars in the series.
Universal Pictures and Illumination have released a new trailer for Minions: The Rise of Gru and most of the footage in it is from a sequence in which the Minions take an airplane full of passengers on a crazy dangerous joy ride. If you’re a fan of the previous films that involve Minions, changes are you’re gonna enjoy what this one is going to deliver.
In this film, we get to meet Gru as a child in the ‘70s with the ambition of being the world greatest villain, and he’s also got his Minions around to help him realize his dream. The movie also introduces the Vicious 6, the team of villains that Gru is hoping to become evil enough to join. When the Vicious 6 fire their leader, legendary fighter Wild Knuckles, Gru interviews to become their newest member.
Here’s the synopsis:
This summer, from the biggest global animated franchise in history, comes the origin story of how the world’s greatest supervillain first met his iconic Minions, forged cinema’s most despicable crew and faced off against the most unstoppable criminal force ever assembled in Minions: The Rise of Gru.
Long before he becomes the master of evil, Gru (Steve Carell) is just a 12-year-old boy in 1970s suburbia, plotting to take over the world from his basement. It’s not going particularly well. When Gru crosses paths with the Minions, including Kevin, Stuart, Bob, and Otto—a new Minion sporting braces and a desperate need to please—this unexpected family joins forces. Together, they build their first lair, design their first weapons, and strive to execute their first missions.
When the infamous supervillain supergroup, the Vicious 6, oust their leader—legendary martial arts fighter Wild Knuckles (Alan Arkin)— Gru, their most devoted fanboy, interviews to become their newest member. The Vicious 6 is not impressed by the diminutive, wannabe villain, but then Gru outsmarts (and enrages) them, and he suddenly finds himself the mortal enemy of the apex of evil. With Gru on the run, the Minions attempt to master the art of kung fu to help save him, and Gru discovers that even bad guys need a little help from their friends.
The voice cast for the film includes Vicious 6 members: Taraji P. Henson as cool and confident leader Belle Bottom, whose chain belt doubles as a lethal disco-ball mace; Jean-Claude Van Damme as the nihilistic Jean Clawed, who’s armed (literally) with a giant robotic claw; Lucy Lawless as Nunchuck, whose traditional nun’s habit hides her deadly nun-chucks; Dolph Lundgren as Swedish roller-skate champion Svengeance, who dispenses his enemies with spin kicks from his spiked skates; and Danny Trejo as Stronghold, whose giant iron hands are both a menace to others and a burden to him.
The film also stars Russell Brand as Young Dr. Nefario, an aspiring mad scientist, Michelle Yeoh as Master Chow, an acupuncturist with mad kung fu skills, and Julie Andrews as Gru’s maddeningly self-absorbed mom.
Minions: The Rise of Gru will hit theaters on July 2, 2021.
Scrubs fans have reason to celebrate after this past weekend’s reunion with the cast and creator of the show at ATX TV Festival. Stars Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes and Neil Flynn were in attendance, with Bill Lawrence, who created the series, and is now working on his great new show, Ted Lasso.
The group reminisced about the hit comedy, and talked about its resurgence since the launch of Braff and Faison’s Scrubs-themed podcast, Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach and Donald.
They were, of course, asked about whether they’d all be up for bringing the show back in any capacity, seeing as how that’s a pretty common practice these days with shows as successful as theirs.
Variety, who hosted the panel, reported that they all agreed they wanted to do it, but Lawrence is so busy. Faison said:
“I think we all want it. We all would love to work together again. It’s just that it’s really hard. It can’t be a full season of a show — it would have to be a movie or something like that, where you could only give a couple of months to it. Everyone is doing things.”
He then motioned to the creator, and added, “This dude’s never going to be free again.” Braff then compared the project to “E.T,” noting that E.T. would would only do “E.T. 2” if Steven Spielberg was doing it.
But Lawrence set the record straight, saying he is definitely in on a new Scrubs project. He shared:
“We’re gonna do it because we’re lucky enough that people care. Top to bottom, we enjoy spending time with each other. If you ever have an excuse to work with people that you’d want to spend time with anyways, run to it… It’s worth it to me to see Neil back in that jumpsuit again.”
Flynn sternly quipped back:
“It’s not a jumpsuit, it’s a shirt and pants.”
So it looks like we can officially count on a Scrubs reunion movie! That’s great news. It was such a fun, warm, sweet series, and it will be great to see the cast back in their roles. Are you looking forward to this new Scrubs project? All episodes of the series are currently streaming on Hulu.
I thought for sure that Neve Campbell would come back and reprise her role as Sidney Prescott in Scream 6, but I was wrong. She has officially confirmed that she will not be appearing in the film, and she shared the following statement:
“Sadly I won’t be making the next Scream film. As a woman, I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream. I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise.
“It’s been a very difficult decision to move on. To all my Scream fans, I love you. You’ve always been so incredibly supportive to me. I’m forever grateful to you and to what this franchise has given me over the past 25 years.”
So, it looks like the franchise is moving forward without her, which is a shame because she is the backbone of this franchise. But, the studio obviously didn’t recognize that or her value. But that’s typical of the Hollywood studio system. Sure, I wish that Campbell would come back, but I totally understand her decision.
The series stars Melissa Barrera as Sam, Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy, Mason Gooding as Chad, and Jenna Ortega as Tara. Courteney Cox also previously confirmed her involvement with the film, and Scream 4 star Hayden Panettiere will also be back!
It’s explained that the new movie follows “the quartet as they leave Woodsboro behind and attempt to start a fresh chapter.”
Scream 6 is being directed by the Radio Silence directing team, which consists of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick are co-writing the screenplay. It’s set to start shooting in early summer, and it will get a theatrical release on March 31, 2023.
Here’s the first teaser trailer for the third and final season of Locke & Key, which follows the family heirs to the mysterious Keyhouse and the magical keys hidden throughout the property. I’ve enjoyed this supernatural adventure series and I’m excited to see how the journey comes to an end.
The supernatural thriller is based on the IDW comic books by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodríguez, and the story follows “the Locke siblings after their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances. The three siblings and their mother move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death. As the Locke children explore the different keys and their unique powers, a mysterious demon awakens — and will stop at nothing to steal them.”
When previously talking about the finale season, =showrunners Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill said: “Once we began working on the series, we felt three seasons was the ideal length to bring the story of the Locke family and their Keyhouse adventures to a satisfying conclusion. As storytellers, we are grateful that we had the opportunity to tell our version of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s incredible story exactly the way we wanted. We’re keeping the magical keys, though, for our own personal use.”
Locke & Key stars Darby Stanchfield, Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, Jackson Robert Scott, Laysla De Oliveira, Petrice Jones, and Griffin Gluck. It’s set to premiere on Netflix on August 10th, 2022.
A new trailer for Neil Gaiman’s upcoming live-action series adaptation of The Sandman has been released, and it gives us our best look at what’s in store for this epic fantasy series. I’m impressed! This looks like a beautifully made show!
In the series: “There is another world that waits for all of us when we close our eyes and sleep — a place called the Dreaming, where The Sandman, Master of Dreams (Tom Sturridge), gives shape to all of our deepest fears and fantasies. But when Dream is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for a century, his absence sets off a series of events that will change both the dreaming and waking worlds forever. To restore order, Dream must journey across different worlds and timelines to mend the mistakes he’s made during his vast existence, revisiting old friends and foes, and meeting new entities — both cosmic and human — along the way.”
The show is based on the beloved award-winning DC comic series written by Neil Gaiman, and it’s described as “a rich, character-driven blend of myth and dark fantasy woven together over the course of ten epic chapters following Dream’s many adventures.”
The series is being developed and executive produced by Gaiman, showrunner Allan Heinberg (Wonder Woman, Grey’s Anatomy), and David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Terminator: Dark Fate, Foundation). One thing that Gaiman has been preparing fans for is that while the essence of the comic book is present in the upcoming series adaptation, this show is going to be its own thing. Gaiman previously talked about bringing this story to life as a series, saying:
“For the last thirty-three years, the Sandman characters have breathed and walked around and talked in my head. I’m unbelievably happy that now, finally, they get to step out of my head and into reality. I can’t wait until the people out there get to see what we’ve been seeing as Dream and the rest of them take flesh, and the flesh belongs to some of the finest actors out there.
“This is astonishing, and I’m so grateful to the actors and to all of The Sandman collaborators — Netflix, Warner Bros., DC, to Allan Heinberg and David Goyer, and the legions of crafters and geniuses on the show — for making the wildest of all my dreams into reality.”
The series will premiere on Netflix on August 5th, 2022. Enjoy the trailer!
