Paramount+ has announced that its Criminal Minds revival will be officially titled Criminal Minds: Evolution, and they’ve cast Zach Gilford in a season-long arc. Gilford is best known for his work on Friday Night Lights and Midnight Mass, and Criminal Minds should be a great project for him to be a part of.
Criminal Minds: Evolution will continue and expand the franchise, blending serialized elements into the series’ format. The series follows FBI’s elite team of criminal profilers as they “come up against their greatest threat yet, an UnSub who has used the pandemic to build a network of other serial killers. As the world opens back up and the network goes operational, the team must hunt them down, one murder at a time.”
Original cast members reprising their roles include Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster.
Gilford will take on the role of Elias Voit, “an operations analyst for a global cyber-security firm who has a dark side and obsession with death.”
This Criminal Minds reboot actually sounds like it could be a great revival! I’ll be looking forward to watching it!
