THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT Star Temuera Morrison Says He Would Have Done Some Things “a Little Bit Different”

Lucasfilm’s The Book of Boba Fett ended up being criticized by a lot of fans for a variety of reasons. While it has some great episodes and awesome moments, there were a lot of creative decisions and action sequences that didn’t really work. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have been doing a great job with The Mandalorian, but you can’t win ‘em all, I guess.

Boba Fett actor Temuera Morrison recently sat down for an interview with Screen Rant, and during that interview, he talked about feeling the love of the fans, how grateful he is to playing this classic Star Wars character, and also says that after looking back at the series, there are some things he would change. Here’s his full quote:

“Feeling the love from all the fans, feeling that we’ve done something good and the reaction I’ve been getting from the fans is overwhelming. [I’m] very proud, and just grateful for the wonderful opportunity to play Boba Fett in The Book of Boba Fett, to work with Ming-Na. We had a wonderful chemistry. It was so easy to work with her. She had been my confidant and it was really a duo effort.

When I was short on information, we had a wonderful crew around us… I had plenty of people to draw on. And even that was a journey for Boba Fett, [from] where we’d found him and where we were taking him; the introduction of the Tuskens, providing that nourishment, that family environment.

Now that I’m looking back at it, I don’t know, it’s just one of those things. Things are great when you look back, but there are some things I may have done a little bit different.

But again, just for me to work with Jon and be part of the Mandalorian family [has] just been quite phenomenal, really.”

Morrison previously shared one of his criticisms about how his character was handled, saying he talked “far too much” in his role. He explained:

“I speak far too much. In fact, in the beginning, I was trying to pass my lines on to Ming-Na [Wen]. I said: ‘Excuse me director, I really feel that Ming-Na should say these lines, ’cause I wanna stay mysterious. I wanna stay quiet.’ … We had to fill in the gaps and give out a little bit of information [about Boba], but yes, I think I did speak a bit too much.”

We can only hope that the creative team learned from their mistakes with The Book of Boba Fett and that the projects they develop moving forward will be better for it.
