Trailer for Gripping Documentary THE PRINCESS About the Life of Princess Diana

The UK trailer and a poster have been released for the gripping Princess Diana documentary The Princess from award-winning documentary filmmaker Ed Perkins (Garnet’s Gold, Tell Me Who I Am). The film premiered at Sundance earlier this year.

Here’s the synopsis:

The Princess documentary film from Academy-Award nominated director Ed Perkins tells the story of Princess Diana exclusively through contemporaneous archival footage which creates a bold and immersive narrative of her life and death. Turning the camera back on ourselves, the film illuminates the profound impact she had and how the public’s attitude to the monarchy was, and still is, shaped by these events.

This will be an interesting look at the life and downfall of Princess Diana, as she was surrounded by the unrelenting media. Last year’s Spencer looked at a fictionalized weekend based on Diana and the royal family during a holiday. This doc has real footage of the media and the public who obsessed over her fame in the years leading up to her death.

Check out the trailer and poster below, and watch The Princess in UK cinemas starting June 30th, 2022. Stay tuned for the film’s US release.
