Shudder has released a new trailer for the insanely crazy, yet awesome-looking film Mad God! The experimental stop-motion animated movie was made by legendary special effects artist and creature designer Phil Tippett. Tippett has worked on a ton of classic films over the course of his career including Star Wars, RoboCop, Starship Troopers, Jurassic Park, and more.
Mad God is set in “a world of monsters, mad scientists and war pigs. A corroded diving bell descends amidst a ruined city and the Assassin emerges to explore a labyrinth of bizarre landscapes inhabited by freakish denizens. This unique labour of love combines many innovative animation techniques and has taken Phil Tippett 30 years to complete.”
Tippett shared in a statement: “It’s been over 30 years, but thanks to the team at Tippett Studio we finally made the dream a reality. I’m proud to partner with Shudder on the release of Mad God, and it’s an honor that my original vision can now be shared with audiences across the country.”
I’m looking forward to experiencing this madness! Mad God will get a limited theatrical release and debut on the streaming service on June 16th.
