Netflix has released the trailer for season 2 of their obstacle game show, Floor is Lava. The series is created by Megan McGrath and Irad Eyal, and is hosted by Rutledge Wood (Top Gear, The American Barbecue Showdown).
The game show challenges contestants to jump, hang, and slide through courses as it plays on the childhood game of “the floor is lava.” With bubbling “lava” below, the players must stay above board, or risk losing the game if any part of them gets “burned.” The show is very similar to the Wipeout series that was on ABC, in which people had to complete obstacle courses in record time, but this is higher stakes, as the players cannot fall in to the lava below.
My kids live this show, and play their own version of it at home. I haven’t watched it, but this trailer actually does make it look pretty fun. Check it out below, and watch Season 2 of Floor is Lava on Netflix on June 3, 2022.
