Michael J. Fox Documentary Picked Up by Apple TV+ Original Films

Apple TV+ Original Films has announced that they are developing a documentary based on the personal life and career of Michael J. Fox. The actor became a household name in the ‘80s with hit movies – the Back to the Future trilogy, the fantastic series Family Ties, and several other projects that launched him into the next phase of his career.

It was at the age of 29 that Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, and as he has fought to keep himself in the best health possible, he has also been a champion for the cause. Apple says the film will incorporate documentary, archival and scripted elements, and is being produced with unprecedented access to Fox and his family. “With a mix of adventure and romance, comedy and drama, watching the film will feel like… well, like a Michael J. Fox movie,” the company said.

Oscar-winning filmmaker Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth, He Named Me Malala) is helming the project, which is currently in production in New York, Los Angeles and Vancouver.

I am really looking forward to this documentary. I loved Fox’s 2002 memoir, Lucky Man, as well as his 2020 book, No Time Like the Future. Fox is incredibly funny and has a knack for storytelling. This look inside his life should be a great watch.
