The OBI-WAN KENOBI Series Premiere Pushed Back Two Days, But It Will Launch With Two Episodes

Disney+ has released a video that features Ewan McGregor announcing that the release of Lucasfilm’s upcoming live-action Star Wars series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, has been pushed back two days.

The series was supposed to premiere on Wednesday, May 25th, but it will now debut on May 27th. It’s not that long of a wait, so it’s not really a big deal. McGregor also announced that the series will launch with the first two episodes, which is exciting!

Just a little detail I want to point out, Obi-Wan Kenobi will now go head to head with Stranger Things Season 4, which is set to drop on Netflix the same day.

Watch the announcement video below.

The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

The series also stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master, along with Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is directed by Deborah Chow and executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor, and Joby Harold.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will drop on Disney+ on May 25th!
