STAR TREK: PICARD Will End After Season 3

I thought the first season of Star Trek: Picard was awesome, and I’m excited about the upcoming second season. I wasn’t sure how long this series would run for, but it’s just been confirmed that the series will come to an end after Season 3.

The news comes from producer Akiva Goldsman in a recent interview with SFX Magazine, and after Season 3 Sir Patrick Stewart will retire the character for good.

Goldsman and Stewart said that the Picard series was never meant to run indefinitely. The plan from the very beginning was for the series to end after three seasons. Hey, if they have a complete story to tell in three seasons that will bid farewell to Picard forever, great!

However, it’s still kind of sad to think that we’ll never see the character again after this. I guess I never expected him to come back after Star Trek: Nemesis, but then this came along! So at least we got one final story. That makes me happy.
