Seth McFarlane Offers an Update on THE ORVILLE Season 3 – It’s Still a “Huge Priority”

For those of you wondering what’s going on with The Orville Season 3, don’t worry, it’s still happening! It was recently revealed that the upcoming Season 3 would air on Hulu instead of Fox, which has been the home for the series for the first two seasons.

It was explained that the reason for the change is because of creator Seth McFarlane’s current workload and “the length of time it takes to finish work on the show’s numerous special effects sequences would have meant that Season 3 would not have been ready for a midseason debut.”

So, we knew that we would be waiting a little bit longer for Season 3 to drop. During a recent Q&A on Instagram Q&A with Jessica Szohr, McFarlane offered an update saying that the series is still a huge priority for him:

“There has been a lot of speculation online: Will the show come back? The show is still a huge priority for me and for the cast and everyone else. We do have a season to finish, and we are going to finish it.

“For a show with a lot of prosthetic makeup that requires close contact, a lot of background artists… it’s a big job, and you want to make sure you do it in a way that keeps everyone safe and secure. Once we have those protocols figured out, we will start up again and you will get more Orville.”

So, while we’re going to have to wait a little longer to see the story continue, we do know that new episodes are coming. We should be used to waiting as there are so many things that we’ve been looking forward to seeing that have been pushed back due to the stupid coronavirus.
