Channing Tatum is set to star in and produce a new film being produced by Disney titled Bob the Musical. The film has been in development at the studio for more than a decade.

The story for the film centers on “a regular guy whose worst nightmare comes to life when he wakes up and finds that he’s trapped in a musical.” Tatum will be playing that “regular guy.” This movie seems like a great project for him that he is sure to have some fun with. Tatum is great to watch when he has a strong project supporting him. Hopefully, this turns out to be one of those projects.

Over the years, the script for the project has gone through the hands of Michael Chabon, Alan Loeb, Mike Bender, John August, Lowell Ganz, and Babaloo Mandel. Some of the previously attached directors include Mark Waters, Adam Shankman, Michel Hazanavicius, and Phil Lord and Chris Miller. There’s currently no director attached.

Tatum’s next project is a road trip comedy titled Dog, which he will co-direct, produce, write, and star in. The film centers on a former Army Ranger and his Belgian Malinois dog Lulu.
