Don’t Expect to See Moon Knight in Marvel’s WEREWOLF BY NIGHT Special

Marvel’s upcoming Werewolf By Night special is actually one of the things I’m looking forward to watching most from the studio. It looks like it’s going to be an incredibly fun movie! The project was made to look like a throwback to the black and white horror films of the ’30s and ’40s.

The story centers on a group of unusual suspects gathered together on a creepy night, and one of them is the Werewolf by Night. They find themselves in a position where they are forced to stay alive as the end of the night approaches.

When the project was first announced, a lot of fans expected to see Moon Knight in the series as the character first appeared in the Werewolf By Night comic series. But, don’t expect Moon Knight to show up.

While speaking with ET Canada, director Michael Giacchino said: “Moon Knight first appeared in Werewolf by Night in the comics years ago. That’s what everyone is thinking. Yeah, there’s no immediate plans for anything like that.”

Maybe one day a crossover will happen, but it won’t be with this series. That’s ok, though, Man-Thing will be in the series, and that’s even more awesome!

Gael García Bernal plays Jack Russell, a.k.a. Werewolf By Night, and when asked the same question about Moon Knight, he laughed and said, “I have no idea.”

Marvel Studios’ Special Presentation: Werewolf By Night, will stream on October 7th only on Disney+. Watch the trailer again for the film here!

BLADE RUNNER 2099 Live-Action Series Moving Forward at Amazon Studios

Amazon Studios is officially moving forward with Blade Runner 2099, a live-action series set in the Blade Runner universe. The project has been picked up to series and will be coming to Prime Video.

Blade Runner director Ridley Scott is executive producing the series, which is a follow-up to director Denis Villeneuve’s feature film sequel Blade Runner 2049. It’s exciting to learn that we are going to get a whole new Blade Runner story!

We don’t know much about the neo-noir story, but judging by the title, we do know that it will be set 50 years after Blade Runner 2049.

Vernon Sanders, head of global television, Amazon Studios said in a statement: “The original Blade Runner, directed by Ridley Scott, is considered one of the greatest and most influential science-fiction movies of all time, and we’re excited to introduce Blade Runner 2099 to our global Prime Video customers. We are honored to be able to present this continuation of the Blade Runner franchise, and are confident that by teaming up with Ridley, Alcon Entertainment, Scott Free Productions, and the remarkably talented Silka Luisa, Blade Runner 2099 will uphold the intellect, themes, and spirit of its film predecessors.”

Alcon Entertainment co-CEOs and co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson said in a joint statement: “We are delighted to continue our working relationship with our friends at Amazon. And we are beyond excited to continue to extend the Blade Runner canon into a new realm with the provocative storyline that Silka has created. Audiences first discovered Ridley Scott’s brilliant vision for Blade Runner 40 years ago, and since then, it has become one of the most influential science-fiction films of all time. Denis Villeneuve’s follow-up sequel, Blade Runner 2049, then became one of the best reviewed sequels of all time. So, we recognize that we have a very high bar to meet with this next installment. Together with Silka and our partners at Amazon, and Scott Free Productions, we hope that we can live up to that standard and delight audiences with the next generation of Blade Runner.”

Silka Luisa (Shining Girls) wrote the script and is executive producing Blade Runner 2099. Are you excited to hear that more Blade Runner greatness is coming?

Trailer for Netflix’s New Stephen King Horror Film MR. HARRIGAN’S PHONE

Netflix has released the first trailer for Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, and this looks like it will be a great adaptation of Stephen King’s horror story. The film comes from American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy in partnership with Blumhouse, and John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side) wrote and directed the film.

That’s quite a talented creative team, and that also includes a talented cast that includes Jaeden Martell (It) and Donald Sutherland, who seems to give a hunting performance. The film is described as being a “supernatural coming-of-age story.”

In Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, “When Craig, a young boy living in a small town (Martell) befriends Mr. Harrigan, an older, reclusive billionaire (Sutherland), the two begin to form an unlikely bond over their love of books and reading. But when Mr. Harrigan sadly passes away, Craig discovers that not everything is dead and gone and strangely finds himself able to communicate with his friend from the grave through the iPhone in this supernatural coming-of-age story that shows that certain connections are never lost.”

King recently watched a cut of the film and tweeted, “I have seen a close-to-finished cut of Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, written and directed by John Lee Hancock, and it’s nothing short of brilliant.” So, that a nice boost of confidence!

The movie also stars Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Barry, Killing Eve) as Craig’s caring and concerned teacher, Ms. Hart. She is joined by Joe Tippett, Cyrus Arnold, Colin O’Brien, Thomas Francis Murphy, and Peggy J. Scott.

Mr. Harrigan’s Phone is rated PG-13 for “thematical material, some strong language, violent content, and brief drug material.” It will be released on Netflix on Wednesday, October 5, 2022. I’m looking forward to watching this movie! Watch the trailer below and tell us what you think!

Disney+ Delivers New Official Clip From HOCUS POCUS 2 That Sees the Sanderson Sisters Find Their New Rides

Disney+ has delivered a new clip from the long-awaited and highly anticipated sequel Hocus Pocus 2, which is just weeks away from gracing our screens.

This new clip mirrors the scene from the original movie in which the Sanderson Sisters have to find new rides to fly off into the night on. In the first film, Winifred (Bette Midler) finds a broom, Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker) finds a mop, and Mary (Kathy Najimy) finds an old vacuum. It’s pretty funny, and this new clip is just as great.

“This Halloween Season, some legends never die…” It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century Sanderson Sisters, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high school students to stop the ravenous child-hungry witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve.

Hocus Pocus 2 also stars Doug Jones, Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belisa Escobedo, Hannah Waddingham, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Nina Kitchen, and Taylor Paige Henderson.

Check it out below, and watch Hocus Pocus 2 when it’s released on Disney+ on September 30th.

Todd Phillips Casts Jacob Lofland in a Key Arkham Asylum Role in JOKER: FOLIE A DEUX

Director Todd Phillips has cast up-and-coming actor Jacob Lofland (The Maze Runner) in his upcoming Joker sequel, which is titled Joker: Folie a Deux. Lofland is said to be taking on a key Arkham Asylum role, we just don’t know who that could be.

There are so many different Batman villains to choose from, but there’s also the chance that this could be a totally new character created for the movie. We just won’t know until more details are revealed.

Lofland joins Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role, Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, and Zazie Beetz as Sophie Dumond, with Catherine Keener and Brendan Gleeson recently cast in undisclosed roles.

All we know about the movie so far is that it will be a musical mostly be set in Arkham Asylum. Also, the film’s working title, Joker: Folie à Deux, refers to the clinical term for the “shared madness,” hallucinations, and delusions of two people.

Warner Bros. will release the film in theaters on October 4th, 2024. Production is expected to get underway this December.

Halloween Decorations Wreak Havoc in Trailer for Netlfix’s Horror Movie THE CURSE OF BRIDGE HALLOW

Netflix has released a trailer for a new Halloween-themed horror film coming out titled The Curse of Bridge Hollow. The film centers around a curse that is unleashed that brings the Halloween decorations of a small town to life and they terrorize it.

The movie stars Marlon Wayans as a father who teams up with his teenage daughter (Priah Ferguson) to save their town “after an ancient and mischievous spirit causes Halloween decorations to come to life and wreak havoc.”

They have to stop the ancient spirit before every day becomes Halloween, which is the worst thing they could possibly do because I would just love it if every day were Halloween! Why are they trying to stop that from happening? Let it happen!

The film’s cast also includes Kelly Rowland, Rob Riggle, John Michael Higgins, Nia Vardalos, Lauren Lapkus, Holly J. Barrett, Myles Vincent Perez, Abi Monterey, and Helen Slayton-Hughes.

The Curse of Bridge Hollow is directed by Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2, Truth or Dare) from a script written by Todd Berger and Robert Rugan. The movie is set to premiere on October 14th.

Featurette for Lucasfilm’s STAR WARS Series ANDOR Offers Character and Story Details

We’re only a week away from the upcoming Star Wars series Andor coming to Disney+, and I honestly never thought I’d actually be excited about it, but I totally am! This series looks like it could actually deliver a great Star Wars story.

We’ve got a new featurette to share with you today that features interview with the cast and crew discussing the characters and story in the series, which is set five years before the events of Rogue One.

The series stars Diego Luna as Cassian Andor and the story tracks how and why Cassian joined the rebellion as the Empire aggressively expands its reach across the galaxy. The series is described as a “refugee story” that sees people trying to escape from a fully powered Empire. Luna previously shared, “It’s the journey of a migrant. That feeling of having to move is behind this story, very profoundly and very strong. That shapes you as a person. It defines you in many ways, and what you are willing to do.”

The who series will cover the full five years leading up to the events of Rogue One. Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote the Rogue One screenplay and was the uncredited director on reshoots for the film, created the 12-episode series, and he has described it as “a narrative that reaches across a vast ensemble,” which includes Stellan Skarsgard (Thor), Adria Arjona (Morbius), Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve), Denise Gough (Under the Banner of Heaven) and Kyle Soller (Poldark). Then there’s Forest Whitaker who will reprise his role as Saw Gerrera, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, and Forest Whitaker is also reprising his role as Clone Wars veteran and radical insurgent Saw Gerrera.

When talking about the series, Luna said:

“I think it’s perfect. It’s lovely. It’s almost like four different movies [via four three-episode blocks]. Three episodes will be a very strong block to explore a year, another year, and then another year and another year. There is also space in between each block where time passes, so we’re allowed to evolve and transform. But I think that’s part of season one, too.”

“Yeah, so when you saw episode three, you probably went, ‘I think I know the characters, the tone, and what the series is going to be about,’ but then we take you where episode four goes. And you were like, ‘What!? Where are we going? What’s going on? What happened?’ So I think that’s something that this long format gives us. It’s the flexibility to literally transform and go somewhere else and meet other characters and find other planets and discover new things. It’s a fantastic format, and it’s very ambitious. It’s complete freedom. You have room, you have space, you have time, and that is lovely when you have something to say.”

Part one of the series will be released on Disney+ on September 21st, with a three-episode launch.

DC’s BATMAN: THE AUDIO ADVENTURES Season 2 Gets a Trailer, Story Details, and Premiere Date

HBO Max has released a trailer for DC’s Batman: The Audio Adventures Season 2 with actor Jeffrey Wright once again back in the role of Batman. When talking about this audio series, Wright said:

“It’s edgy, but has comic elements too — it’s very noir and old-school in some ways. What drew me to this, what distinguishes it, is that it’s a radio show. I’m giving a wink to the old radio shows… I love the strangeness and the melodrama you can bring to it. We lean on that … It’s a fairly dense series. There’s a lot in there,”

In Season 2 of Batman: The Audio Adventures, Gotham City’s cauldron of crime and corruption is about to boil over. While The Joker remains at large, criminal kingpins and former rivals The Penguin and Two-Face have joined forces – and the mysterious narco-terrorist known as Scarecrow remains unidentified, even as his chemical nightmares plague the city. The schism between Batman and Catwoman grows ever larger as both escalate their separate wars on crime, threatening dire consequences for both. And Harleen Quinzel (aka Harley Quinn) is living for a love that’s slowly killing her, just waiting for inspiration to strike.

The series was created by Dennis McNicholas (Saturday Night Live) and the ensemble cast includes Ike Barinholtz as Two-Face; Rosario Dawson as Catwoman; Gillian Jacobs as Harley Quinn; Bobby Moynihan as The Penguin and Bat-Mite; John Leguizamo as The Riddler; Seth Meyers as Jack Ryder; Brooke Shields as Vicki Vale; Brent Spiner as The Joker; Kenan Thompson as Commissioner Gordon; Alan Tudyk as Alfred; Melissa Villaseñor as Robin; Bradley Whitford as Scarecrow; and Chris Parnell as the narrator.

Batman: The Audio Adventures Season 2 will consist of 10 episodes and it’s set to premiere in its entirety exclusively on HBO Max on Friday, October 7th.

In addition to the podcast series, there’s a new Batman: The Audio Adventures seven-issue comic-book miniseries coming out this fall. Written by McNicholas, the comics feature art by Anthony Marques and J. Bone, with cover by Dave Johnson and two variant covers: one by Michael Allred, a second by Marques and J. Bone. Issue No. 1 will be released on September 27th.

In the new miniseries, “a string of attacks has plagued Gotham’s seedy underbelly, sending criminals into a panic. But it’s not Batman who is striking at the heart of the city — it’s a group of mysterious assailants on the hunt for an ancient artifact. As Batman hunts down the assassins, he finds clues that keep drawing him to their true goal: the sword of King Scimitar.”

Eddie Munson Returning for STRANGER THINGS Season 5 Is “Highly Unlikely”

A lot of Strangers Things fans are convinced that fan favorite Season 4 character Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) will return for Season 5. This is something that I want to believe! I even have a theory that I love of how he could come back!

But, producer Shawn Levy recently addressed the chances of the character’s return, and it’s not looking good. He told The Hollywood Reporter that it’s “highly unlikely”:

“A lot of people can’t even handle the thought of a season 5 without some excuse for Eddie presence. Highly unlikely, highly unlikely. But we hear you, world, we know. You’re obsessed with Eddie – so are we.”

I hope he’s just trying to throw us off. I mean, if they’re obsessed with Eddie as much as the fans are, why wouldn’t they bring him back!? But, of course, there’s always a good chance that Levy is telling us the truth and that we won’t see Eddie’s return in Season 5, which would be a bloody shame.

It’s going to be a while before we see Season 5 as it hasn’t even started production yet. As for the story, all we really know so far comes from Vecna actor Jamie Campbell Bower who says Vecna is pissed:

“He’s pissed, he’s properly vexed. I don’t think he’s slunk off licking his wounds in misery. He’s rebuilding, and he’s out for blood. It’s like, you’ve really fucking pushed the buttons now, that classic Jason Voorhees [the hockey-masked killer from Friday the 13th] thing – you’ve made a big mistake.”

Bower to share what he thinks will happen when Vecna returns in Season 5:

“I think Vecna and Will have a connection that’s yet to be explored. As a fan, I’d be interested to see more of that.”

As for Eddie, I really hope to see him return in some way, but I’ll keep my expectations in check. Do you think we’ll see Eddie again in Stranger Things 5?

SCREAM 6 Actress Melissa Barrera Talks About the Advantage Ghostface Will Have in the Upcoming Film

Scream 6 is headed our way next year, and it will be a whole new turn of events for Ghostface and fans of the franchise. In the new film, the Carpenter sisters, played by Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, have left the town of Woodsboro and are headed to New York City to try and start their lives over after the events in the last flick. But unfortunately, they aren’t going alone.

Ghostface is headed their way and is about to unleash on New York City, and Melissa Barrera sat down with Collider to talk about why this move is actually a leg up for the show’s killer, despite the idea it may be harder to find what you’re looking for in a huge, crowded city, saying:

“It’s, like 20 times more mortifying. It’s awful. Because you also see how, in a city like New York City, everyone is kind of doing their own thing and someone is screaming for help, and no one will come to their help. No one comes to help them, you know, like, everyone’s kind of like, ‘I’m not getting into that.’ So it’s mortifying, because you’re chased by Ghostface, but you also see humanity and how that reacts in a situation like that. Anyway, I think I’ve already probably said too much.”

That does make sense. In a small town, he would stand out in a crowd. In NYC, he could just fade into the abyss of people and no one would even notice. This isn’t the first time that a Scream film has changed locations. Scream 2 was set on a college campus, while Scream 3 was set in Hollywood.

Filming for Scream 6 wrapped early this month, and while the plot is under wraps, we know that the cast will include fan-favorite character Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere), and possibly Skeet Ulrich‘s Billy Loomis. Returning cast members also include Courtney Cox as Gale Weathers, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding. A few of the newcomers to the franchise include Dermot Mulroney, Samara Weaving, and Liana Liberato.

Both Matt Bettinelli-Opin and Tyler Gillett return to direct the sixth film, along with the writers of Scream 5, James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. Kevin Williamson, writer of the original first three Scream films, serves as executive producer.

Scream 6 is eyeing a theatrical release on March 31, 2023.
