FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA TV Spots Offer Exciting New Footage!

Warner Bros. has released a couple of new Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga TV spots, and they feature new footage that sheds a little more light on Furiosa’s origin story.

This movie is going to deliver epic awesomeness! I recently had the opportunity to see a lengthy clip from the movie, and it was absolutely insane! I can’t wait to see this movie on the big screen, especially for the incredible stunts!

It was recently revealed that there’s a 15-minute sequence in the film that took “78 days to shoot” and that it also had 200 stunt people working on that scene daily!

Anya Taylor-Joy offered some insight in the sequence and explained why it’s so important for the film and her character, saying: “George and I would have these big conversations about why this particular set-piece was so long.”

She added: “It’s because you see an accumulation of skills over the course of a battle, and that’s very important for understanding how resourceful Furiosa is, but also her grit.”

The actress continued: “It’s the longest sequence any of us have ever shot. On the day we finished, everybody got a ‘Stairway To Nowhere’ wine!’”

In the film, “As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus.

“Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”

Miller previously talked about the movie and revealed that the story takes place over the course of 15 years and that it leads directly into the events of Mad Max: Fury Road.

Miller shared: “The story is the saga of Furiosa, and how she gets taken from home, and spends the rest of her life trying to get back. [In] Fury Road, the story unfolds over three days and two nights. This film follows the story that runs directly into Fury Road, for 15 years.”

He went on to say that, “It’s a different animal. It’s got many different locations. It’s an odyssey. No question.” As for a possible appearance from Max Rockatansky himself, Miller said: “I won’t give away too much about that. All I’ll say is, Max is lurking there in the background.”

The cast also includes Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Angus Sampson, Nathan Jones, Daniel Webber, Lachy Hulme, and Quaden Bayles.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is scheduled to hit theaters on May 24, 2024.

Thandiwe Newton Joins The Cast of WEDNESDAY Season 2

Thandiwe Newton is the latest actor to join the cast of Wednesday Season 2 at Netflix. She will make a great addition to the cast!

There are no details on who she is playing in the series, but there’s no doubt that she’ll fit right in with this story and the fantastical world that it’s set in.

Newton joins the recently cast Steve Buscemi and Jenna Ortega, who will return to reprise her role as the title character, who is navigating her teen years while a student at Nevermore Academy.

The first season came to an end with Wednesday Addams successfully solving a series of grisly murders while also thwarting an attempt to destroy Nevermore Academy and its students.

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar created the series and also serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Tim Burton directed the first four episodes of Season 1 and is also an executive producer on the project.

When previously talking about what we can expect from Season 2, Ortega said: “We’re definitely leaning into a little bit more horror but it’s really, really exciting because all throughout the show, while Wednesday does need a little bit of an arc, she never really changes and that’s the wonderful thing about her.”

She continued: “There’s really, really good one-liners, and I think everything’s bigger, it’s a lot more action-packed. Each episode will probably feel a little bit more like a movie, which is nice.”

Gough and Millar have also hinted that we might see more Addams family members and explore further Wednesday’s relationship with her mother, Morticia.

Tom Holland Discusses SPIDER-MAN 4 Saying: “We Want to Make Sure We’re Not Overdoing the Same Things”

Tom Holland continues to be asked about returning to the role of Peter Parker in Marvel’s Spider-Man 4, and the actor offers a little update and explains what he doesn’t want the movie to be.

When asked if he wanted to return to play Spider-Man again, Holland told Deadline: “The simple answer is that I’ll always want to do Spider-Man films. I owe my life and career to Spider-Man. So the simple answer is yes. I’ll always want to do more.”

However, he went on to offer a more “complicated answer” explaining that he wants to make sure the upcoming fourth installment lives up to bar set by the previously made films.

The actor said: “We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be. But until we’ve cracked it, we have a legacy to protect.”

Holland went on to say: “The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the right thing.” In an effort to help with that, he got more involved with the development of the film and its story early on.

He said: “This is the first time in this process that I’ve been part of the creative so early. It’s just a process where I’m watching and learning. It’s just a really fun stage for me.”

He went on to add what he doesn’t want to see happen: “Like I said, everyone wants it to happen. But we want to make sure we’re not overdoing the same things.”

With the way that Spider-Man: No Way Home ended with no one knowing Peter Parker is Spider-Man, that is a very fresh jumping-off point for a very different kind of dynamic that could make for some interesting storytelling. Hopefully, they play with that.

It was previously rumored that Spider-Man 4 will see Peter Parker stepping fully into Spider-Man, and leaving Peter behind.

It was explained: “The idea now moving forward is to give him a sense of independence. In his mind, Peter Parker is no more…but Spider-Man lives on.

“Since he has either lost or detached himself from everyone he’s ever loved, all he has to keep him going is being Spider-Man, whether the city loves him for it or not.

“And as the title of Spider-Man continues to consume Peter’s life little by little, Peter Parker will take a back seat and continue to fade from existence slowly. This story point can be compared to Robert Pattinson’s Batman in The Batman.”

But, it still seems so early in the process that even if any of that is true, things could very well go in a completely different direction depending on who Marvel brings into direct.

Sam Raimi, Jon Favreau, Justin Lin, John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein, and Drew Goddard have all been rumored to be up for the directing job, but nothing has been confirmed.

The film is expected to start filming later this year, in either September or October. If that’s true, things are going to start falling into place for the movie pretty soon.

Post Malone Teams with Producer Michael Bay for a FURY ROAD Meets EVIL DEAD Movie

Post Malone is partnering up with Michael Bay and Brad Fuller’s Platinum Dunes and Vault Comics to create a whole new franchise based on an original story by Malone.

The project does not have a title, but it will first launch as a graphic novel in 2025. It’s also explained that the story will blend elements of road thrillers like Mad Max: Fury Road and demonic horror like Evil Dead.

The story is set in medieval Europe, “where the only thing standing in the way of the horde of demons infesting the continent is a mysterious armored 18-wheeler seemingly sent back from the heavens.”

Yeah, that sounds like the kind of thing that Malone would come up with! He said in a statement: “I’m so pumped to share this badass story with the world, and I couldn’t ask for better partners than Michael Bay and Vault to help bring this story to life.

Vault CEO Damian Wassel said: “This is the kind of project you dream about. We get to work with an exceptional artist at the top of his game to build a completely original story from the ground up.”

He added: “We have an iconic director helping to guide the creative development. We’re going to bring the world a mind-blowing graphic novel, and that’s just the beginning.”

Bay also shared a statement, saying: “I love working with talented people, and Post Malone is incredibly gifted. I am excited to work with him on such an intriguing idea, and when you add Vault to the mix, it raises the bar to another level. This new IP is just what the graphic world needs right now.”

The long-term goal is to adapt this graphic novel into a movie.

Fascinating and Unnerving Trailer For Documentary ETERNAL YOU Addresses Bringing Back the Dead as A.I.

A fascinating and unnerving trailer has been released for the documentary Eternal You, which dives into the world of Artificial Intelligence, and the strides that are being made in the use of A.I. tech to instill the persona of those who have passed away into a computer program or even robotic being to essentially bring someone back to life. The movie, which premiered at Sundance this year, was co-directed by German filmmakers Hans Block and Moritz Riesewieck (The Cleaners).

The doc’s synopsis reads: “The documentary Eternal You examines the story of people who live on as digital replicants in the pockets of their loved ones.

“With the help of artificial intelligence (A.I.) and Big Data, a dream comes true that is as old as mankind itself: eternal life. It’s probably the biggest business idea of the digital age – tech start-ups which use a wealth of data to develop “digital doppelgangers,” which promise to immortalize people on earth.

“The film raises a number of questions, such as: Can a digital entity compensate for the loss of a loved one? How will human memory be affected? And do we not have the right to forget?”

This looks so interesting, and so conflicting. It brings up a lot of moral questions that we as a society are facing regarding A.I. technology. Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think:

Details Revealed for GAME OF THRONES Spinoff Series 10,000 SHIPS, a Moses-Inspired Epic

There was a Game of Thrones spinoff series in development at one point being developed by Brian Helgeland, who previously worked on projects such as L.A Confidential, A Knight’s Tale, Man on Fire, and Mystic River.

The movie was titled Ten Thousand Ships and the story would have been Moses-inspired tale that centered on Queen Nymeria. Helgeland recently shared some details on the scrapped series, and it sounds like it would’ve made for a great show!

He was working on this project back in 2017, a few years before Game of Thrones ended. Screenwriter Amanda Segel was hired as a writer on the series, but the show has never been given the official greenlight from HBO.

Helgeland began: “It came out great, but I think they felt the period of my show was too far removed from the pillars of the original. That’s why it hasn’t been picked up yet, but nothing is ever dead. My script was based on Queen Nymeria and this little blurb about her that was in a Westeros encyclopedia.”

When talking about the story, he revealed: “Essentially, it was the story of Moses but swapping him out for Nymeria. Her country gets ruined and her people are forced to live on the water, which is why the show was called ‘Ten Thousand Ships.’”

He continued: “They end up having to leave and find a new home like the Israelites leaving Egypt. She’s leading all these people, trying to hold everyone together but things are always in danger of falling apart as they travel around a fictionalized version of the Mediterranean, looking for a new home to settle in.”

The creator of the shared the following details: “Their life was nomadic. Living in a raft city that was bound together, this big floating city. Sometimes, the characters would come ashore, but they ultimately get driven off the land as they search for a home, their version of the promised land.”

Helgeland went on to talk about meeting with George R.R. Martin for the project, saying: “I met with George R.R. Martin to pitch him the idea, which he signed off on. Sadly, I didn’t work with him closer, but I would have done if the show was picked up.”

He added: “It was kind of like Ray Harryhausen’s Sinbad films mixed with ‘The Odyssey.’ In a way, Nymeria is Odysseus, but instead of a 12-person crew, she’s responsible for every citizen in this floating city-state. My work is still there if HBO wants to pick it up. I enjoyed my time developing it, and you just never know.”

I would actually love to see that story brought to life! It sounds like an incredible epic adventure series. HBO still can make it if they want, but as of right now, they’re focusing on other Game of Thrones projects.

House of the Dragon Season 2 is coming this summer and a second spinoff series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knightis is currently in development with Peter Claffey as Dunk, while Dexter Sol Ansell has been cast as Egg.

That show is set to go into production later this year.

Anne Hathaway Says in the 2000s Chemistry Tests Consisted of Her Being Asked to Make Out With 10 Guys, It Was “Gross”

Anne Hathaway has made her mark in Hollywood, winning an Academy Award, an Emmy, and a Golden Globe. She has starred in iconic roles in films that she will always be remembered for like The Princess Diaries, Rachel Getting Married, The Devil Wears Prada, The Dark Knight Rises, Les Misérables, and Ocean’s 8. She is about to release her most recent film, the romantic drama The Idea of You, which she also produced, and she talked about the process of finding her leading man for this film versus how it was when she was still starting out.

In a recent interview with V Magazine, Hathaway said:

“Back in the 2000s — and this did happen to me — it was considered normal to ask an actor to make out with other actors to test for chemistry, which is actually the worst way to do it. I was told, ‘We have 10 guys coming today and you’re cast. Aren’t you excited to make out with all of them?’ And I thought, ‘Is there something wrong with me?’ because I wasn’t excited. I thought it sounded gross. I was so young and terribly aware how easy it was to lose everything by being labeled ‘difficult,’ so I just pretended I was excited and got on with it. It wasn’t a power play, no one was trying to be awful or hurt me. It was just a very different time and now we know better.”

She went on to describe how things were done to find the leading man to play opposite her character in her most recent film, saying:

“We asked each of the actors coming in to choose a song that they felt their character would love, that they would put on to get my character to dance, and then we’d do a short little improv. I was sitting in a chair like we had come in from dinner or a walk or something, we pressed play, and we just started dancing together.”

Nicholas Galitzine won the part after choosing a song by Alabama Shakes to dance to with Hathaway, who remembered Galitzine being “so ridiculously perfect” for the role as soon as he walked in the room.

“And it was just easy. I heard [lead singer] Brittany [Howard]’s voice and I just started smiling. And he saw me smile, so he relaxed, and we just started dancing. Nobody was showing off. Nobody was trying to get the gig. We were just in a space dancing. I looked over and Michael Showalter, our director, was beaming. Spark!”

The Idea of You debuted to strong reviews at the SXSW Film Festival last month. The movie streams on Amazon Prime Video starting May 2.
