Scarlet Witch’s Reality-Altering Powers Might Be Introduced in Marvel’s WANDAVISION Series

Marvel fans seem excited about all the shows coming to Disney+ in the near future. One of those shows is WandaVision, which will see the return of Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany’s Vision.

There hasn’t been a lot of information revealed on this series yet, but we’ve got an interesting bit of info to share with you thanks to MCU Exchange. The rumor claims that Scarlet Witch’s powers are going to evolve dramatically into one of her powers from the comics. That power includes reality-altering:

“I’ve heard that as this show unfolds, it’s going to find Wanda really starting to come into her power set and that the reality-altering powers from the comic are going to make their way into MCU.”

We’ve already seen these powers displayed in the MCU, but not by her. Thanos used it in Avengers: Infinity War when Peter Quill and the others show up to The Collector’s museum to get the Reality Stone, but Thanos beat them to it.

There are no plot details on the series or how Vision will end up being involved, but maybe the reality- altering power will explain Vision coming back and the 1950s setting that has been teased. Maybe Wanda’s powers get out of control and end up creating a new world for them to live in? Then that world starts to fall apart?

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see! What would you like to see from the upcoming WandaVision series? What do you think the reality-altering powers mean for the story?

Stan Lee Was De-Aged 45 Year For His Cameo in AVENGERS: ENDGAME and Details on the Process Revealed

stan-lee-was-de-aged-45-year-for-his-cameo-in-avengers-endgame-and-details-on-the-process-revealed-social.jpg

The final cameo that Stan Lee made in a Marvel movie was in Avengers: Endgame. The cameo took place in the 1970s and it’s been confirmed that he was de-aged 45 years for that little appearance.

The de-aging work on Lee was done by Lola VFX, which is the company that seems to have perfected the de-aging process in film for Marvel Studios. CB had a chance to talk to Lola’s Trent Claus about the process of digital de-aging, and he said:

“There was some work, very minor de-aging done on Captain Marvel. But that was 10 years ago or something, so not really a noticeable change overall, especially for a man of his age. But for this one, we had to go back 45 years, so it was a pretty sizable amount.”

He then went on to talk about how they pull off the de-aging of characters and explains that they have to treat every frame of the younger actors like a painting.

“The work that we do, we don’t create a CG replication of the actor. We use the actor that’s actually there on screen, so we were actually modifying the actor in the performance that was there on set as opposed to re-creating something new. So, we have to treat each and every frame like a painting, where you’re working with light and shadow, and form, and composition, and things like that to accomplish the goal.”

So, there’s a lot of freaking hard work that goes into this, but they have a team of artists that have the talent and skills to pull off the amazing work that they do.

“We’ve got a highly trained roster of artists here that work for us that have been doing this for a long time. Lola started de-aging way back on X-Men 3, and have been doing it ever since. I started with the first, as far as de-aging and stuff goes, with the first Captain America.”

Claus goes on to explain that these artist have to have an extensive knowledge of anatomy to pull this kind of visual effects off:

“You have to rely on the artist’s knowledge of anatomy, the changes that happen to humans over time, the physiological changes in the skin and the muscles, and the mechanics of the expressions that you make in your face, and also the body, the posture and the build of the body changes over time. All those things have to be taken into consideration.”

Wow! I’ve gotta say, I’m really impressed by all the work that goes into de-aging actors in these films. I didn’t realize how much actually goes into it.

Marvel Studios Is Reportedly in Active Development on a POWER PACK Movie or TV Series

Last year we learned that Marvel Studios was interested in developing a movie based on their comic book property Power Pack. The comic centers around a grou of superpowered kids who embark on adventures to fight evil. It was director James Gunn who originally pitched this movie to Marvel.

When previously talking about the Power Pack movie, Kevin Feige said:

“Power Pack is a property that we’ve been interested in for a long time, for many years because we wanted to do something for families, something that’s a little younger, Ant-Man has kind of become that franchise, certainly with Ant-Man and the Wasp, but Power Pack still is one of the many things that we discuss, wouldn’t it be fun to do someday?”

According to a “reliable source” at MCU Cosmic, a Power Pack project is now in “active development” at Marvel Studios. At this point, it’s not known if this is going to be a theatrical film or a TV series that could end up on Disney+. This is kind of property seems like it would be a good fit for Disney+ because it’s something the younger fans are sure to enjoy.

Power Pack was created by Louise Simonson and June Brigman and first appeared in Power Pack Vol. 1 issue 1 in 1984.

The story focuses on Alex (12), Julie (10), Jack (8), and Katie Power (5) who meet an alien named “Whitey” Whitemane. This alien gives each of them one of his powers before his death, imbuing them with unique superpowers. These four kids end up becoming one the youngest superhero teams ever, and they fight to save the world from an alien invasion.

What do you think of Marvel developing a Power Pack film at some point in the future?

Marvel is Considering Introducing Deadpool Into The MCU in The Next Spider-Man Film

marvel-is-considering-introducing-deadpool-into-the-mcu-in-the-next-spider-man-film-social.jpg

An interesting new rumor has surfaced regarding Deadpool’s introduction to the MCU that I think fans are going to flip over. I know that I hope this rumor is true!

The news comes from MCU Cosmic and who they say is their “most reliable source” who has “delivered 100%” for them in the past.

The report says that Marvel is currently looking at a few different options to introduce Deadpool into the MCU and those things include:

  • A new solo film, such as Deadpool 3.

  • A Disney+ limited series.

  • Guest-starring in Spider-Man 3.

Personally, I would absolutely love to see Deadpool show up in Spider-Man 3! That would be such a fun way to introduce the character and then from there they can do a third solo film or a limited series. Either one of those would be fine as long as Ryan Reynolds and the original Deadpool writing team get to keep doing what they want.

The thing about the Disney+ series is that it would have to be more of a PG-13 friendly series. But, if they go the Hulu route for the series, then they could get into the dark territory. Whatever they end up doing with the character in his solo projects, they need to keep doing what they’ve been doing and both Disney CEO Bob Iger and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige have said they wouldn’t change that.

I would just love to see Deadpool and Spider-Man embark on a crazy adventure together in a film! That’s the option that I’m most excited about. What about you?

Fun Trailer for R-Rated Rom-Com PLUS ONE

Plus-One-trailer-700x300.jpg

Here’s a fun little trailer for you today for a good old-fashioned rom-com with some feel good moments and lots of raunchy humor. Plus One stars Maya Erskine (PEN15) and Jack Quaid (The Hunger Games) as best friends who decide to accompany one another to all their friends’ weddings to act as wingmen and help each other out. The movie looks like it might be an okay time, and probably a lot less cheesy than many rom-coms you see, but we will have to see if it ends up being too over the top in its raunchiness. Some movies try too hard in that realm, and just ruin the movie. But at least it’s fun to see how much Jack Quaid looks like his dad when he smiles.

Check out the trailer below and see Plus One when it hits theaters on June 14th.

Hulu is Producing a Supernatural Anthology Series Based on NORTH AMERICAN LAKE MONSTERS

Hulu is set to develop a supernatural anthology series based on the short story collection by Nathan Ballingrud, North American Lake Monsters.

According to Variety, the first season will consist of eight episodes and the stories will revolve around vampires, fallen angels, and other monsters that force Louisiana natives to re-examine their broken lives.

The series is being created by Mary Laws, who will write and executive produce it. She previously co-wrote the screenplay for Nicolas Winding Refn’s 2016 film The Neon Demon. She also went on to write for and produce the fantastic AMC series Preacher.

This is the kind of show that I know I would enjoy. I love these kinds of stories and they’ve got a talented person on board to bring it to life.

Taiki Waititi’s Netflix Movie BUBBLES, About Michael Jackson’s Chimp, Has Been Scrapped for Good

bubbles+the+chimp.jpg

For some time now, Taika Waititi has been mulling over his stop-motion animated idea for a movie about the life of Michael Jackson through the eyes of his beloved pet chimp, Bubbles.

I love Taika Waititi, but this sounds unnecessary. Waititi was the first one to depart the project, which caused Netflix to pull the plug altogether as having Waititi attached was probably the only appealing thing about the movie. Here’s a previously released description of the story:

“A baby chimp is adopted by pop star Michael Jackson. Narrating his own story, Bubbles the Chimp details his life within The King of Pop’s inner circle through the scandals that later rocked Jackson’s life and eventually led to Bubbles’ release.”

Waititi still has fond things to say about the Isaac Adamson written script, as he was quoted recently as saying:

“That script has been around for a long time, and it’s a little bit stuck in the early stages of trying to figure out what it could be and what it would look like. It’s a fucking brilliant script, though. It’s so cool to look at the idea of telling a story like this through the eyes of a chimpanzee.”

I love that he has so much faith in this story. Would you have wanted to see this movie get made?

Catch-22 Season 1 Episode 6 Recap

In the previous episode of Hulu’s Catch-22, YoYo and Aarfy had to abandon their plane as it was going down during a mission, but Orr hadn’t. In the Catch-22 finale, we learned Yossarian’s fate.

Spectacularly Lucky

YoYo was still bleeding from his crotch as he made it to the ground from a tree. An Italian family came upon him and took him in. Despite no one around him speaking English, the doctor was able to confirm for him that his testicles were all right. YoYo started flirting with one of the daughters of the man who was hosting him. Soon, the army came after him and brought him back to the base.

Doc Daneeka told him he was lucky. The bullet missed his testicles and only tore through the soft tissue between them. If he had lost a testicle, he would’ve been sent home. Though Milo was in Togo, he’d sent a gift for YoYo: a pair of flowy, shiny pants.

YoYo went to Cathcart, who now shared his office with Major Major, so that he could honor the deal. Since he was asking to be sent home for a medical issue, YoYo had to go back to Daneeka. He convinced the doctor to go to Scheisskopf and be creative with how he described YoYo’s situation. Scheisskopf called his bluff, and YoYo had to drop his pants for inspection. He had to continue flying missions. What’s more, Nurse Duckett had gone home.

The New Kid

Catch-22 Season 1 Episode 6 Recap

Since YoYo was now a captain, the new radio-gunner, Snowden, reported to him before a mission. He was nervous, but YoYo said some reassuring words to him. Unfortunately, during the mission, Snowden was hit, and YoYo tried to save him. He died with YoYo covered in his blood.

YoYo took off all of his clothes and screamed on the airfield. He wandered the base naked with blood on him, and the Chaplain asked if he was okay. YoYo explained that the blood wasn’t his, but the new kid had died. The Chaplain held a service for Snowden while YoYo watched from a tree, naked. Milo came to see him and told him that Orr was alive in Sweden.

When another new kid arrived at his tent, he wordlessly hugged him close.

And Release

Catch-22 Season 1 Episode 6 Recap

General Dreedle, the commanding officer for the entire European theater, was at Pianosa for a parade. He would be handing out Distinguished Flying medals. YoYo showed up with only his hat on. When Dreedle questioned why, he explained he simply didn’t want to wear clothes. While Scheisskopf promised to punish him, Dreedle pointed out that YoYo won a medal and didn’t care if he wanted to receive it naked. He pinned the medal to Yossarian’s hat.

At the end of the episode, we saw YoYo in his spot on the plane as usual. He was naked and still dropping bombs.
