toy-story-3-irl.jpg

Last June, we posted a trailer for a Toy Story film called Toy Story 3 IRL, a different version of the original, where two brothers made a shot-for-shot remake of the animated film along with their families. Now the film from the trailer has been released online, and it looks pretty awesome!

Morgan and Mason McGrew created the film using stop motion, and it looks like it was a painstaking process, so they must be huge fans of Disney. It’s fun to watch just to appreciate all the work that went into it. Check out the film below, and let us know which movie you’d be willing to remake shot for shot!

Vin Diesel’s Dom is Living a Low Key Family Life in Teaser Trailer and Poster For FAST AND FURIOUS 9

Universal Pictures has released the first teaser trailer and poster for Fast and Furious 9 or Fast 9. The trailer shows that Vin Diesel‘s Dom Toretto has settled down and is living a happy family life with his wife and son. But, we all know this film isn’t going to be about Dom retiring from his life of chaotic mayhem. Something is coming that will turn their lives upside down and force them back into living their lives a quarter-mile at a time. This might end up being the biggest and/or the most personal threat they’ve faced yet.

We still don’t know much about the story that the movie will tell, but franchise stars like and Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris”  Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Anna Sawai will all return alongside newcomer John Cena, Michael Rooker, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron.

I’m sure we’ll learn more with the full trailer drops online this Friday. In the meantime, watch the teaser and check out the poster.

Justin Lin returned to direct Fast 9 which will hit theaters on May 22nd. He will also helm Fast 10 which will hit theaters on April 2nd, 2021.

A24 & Silver Reel in bidding war over Under the Skin TV rights

It has already been more than five years since Jonathan Glazer’s Under the Skin had its U.S. theatrical release in 2014, and now Deadline brings words that A24 and Silver Reel are currently in a competitive bidding war against each other for the rights to the potential TV series adaptation of the Scarlett Johansson-led sci-fi film. A24 was the film’s North American theatrical distributor with Silver Reel as one of its financiers along with FilmNation Entertainment.

The outlet notes that Silver Reel (The Wife) has been trying to develop an Under the Skin TV spinoff for years while A24 (Room, Ex Machina) has only entered the negotiations late last year but has been continually working with Glazer and the film’s producer James Wilson on their next feature drama about the Holocaust. Glazer and Wilson’s involvement in the potential series will be discussed and finalized once the decision on where the TV rights will go to has been revealed.

Between A24 and Silver Reel, only A24 has the experienced with producing TV shows that includes: USA Network’s comedy series Playing House; HBO’s late night comedy sketch Random Acts of Flyness; Hulu’s comedy-drama Ramy starring Ramy Youssef who have recently won a Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series; and HBO’s popular teen drama Euphoria starring Zendaya and Jacob Elordi.

Under the Skin was directed by English filmmaker Jonathan Glazer from screenplay adapted by Glazer and Walter Campbell, which was loosely based on author Michel Faber’s 2000 novel of the same name. Starring two-time Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson, the film tells the story of an alien on earth, who is disguised as the perfect aesthetic form of a mesmerizing woman. She scours remote highways and desolate scenery looking to use her greatest weapon to snare human prey — her voracious sexuality.

The film had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival in 2013 but only had its U.S. debut in April 2014. Although it didn’t fared well at the box office, Under the Skin became an instant cult classic by receiving a lot of positive reviews from critics especially for Johansson’s incredible performance.

SAVED BY THE BELL Reboot Casts its Young Actors Including Zack Morris’ Kid

saved by the bell og scene.jpg

The Saved by the Bell reboot is coming together nicely. A couple of weeks ago, we reported that the series had found its lead with actress Josie Totah, and also confirmed that Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley were on board to return. Then, we reported the great news that Mark-Paul Gosselaar also officially signed on to the series, because who could have Saved by The Bell without Zack Morris?

And now we have news about the rest of the young stars who will fill out the cast of the reboot. Deadline reports that Haskiri Velazquez (The Birch), Mitchell Hoog (Harriet), Alycia Pasqual-Pena (Chase), and Belmont Cameli (The Husband) join the cast, alongside Dexter Darden (The Maze Runner), John Michael Higgins (The Break-Up), Rose Abdoo (Gilmore Girls), and Ed Alonzo, who is back as Max, owner of the hangout spot The Max!

And here are the character descriptions for the new crew:

Velazquez plays Daisy, a smart, ambitious sophomore who is excited at the prospect of attending Bayside High after her local school gets shut down. Hoog plays Mac Morris, the handsome, charming, privileged son of Governor Zack Morris. Pascual-Pena plays Aisha, Daisy’s fun-loving, but ultracompetitive best friend. She grew up playing on boys’ sports teams and causes a stir when she tries to play football at Bayside. Cameli plays Jamie Spano, the captain of the Bayside football team and Jessie’s sensitive man-child son.

Here’s the series description:

When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the highest performing schools in the state – including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the over privileged Bayside kids a much needed and hilarious dose of reality.

Everything I read just gets me more excited for this series! I love Saved by the Bell, and I can’t wait to watch it again with my daughter with brand new episodes and stories to tell. The new series will premiere sometime this year after the launch of the NBC streaming service Peacock this spring.
