DUNGEONS & DRAGONS Releases New Unearthed Arcana with Subclasses for Bards, Clerics, and Sorcerers

Dungeons & Dragons have released a new set of Unearthed Arcana playtest material. This time around we get a new subclass each for Bards, Clerics, and Sorcerers. The new College of Creation gives your Bard the ability to create objects temporarily. They also give creatures cool options when they expend the Inspiration Dice you’ve gifted them. In addition, they can bring inanimate objects to life.

Meanwhile, Unity Domain Clerics are all about joining creatures together. They can create a bond between two creatures that then allows them special bonuses, like adding a d4 every turn to their rolls for an hour. The Shared Burden Channel Divinity is interesting as you can potentially see your ally get hit but reduce the damage to them to only one while moving the rest of the damage to enemies. Not sure if that was their intention there, but that’s how it reads.

Finally, the Clockwork Soul Sorcerer is the one that sounds the coolest to me. In addition to getting some cool flavor, like the option to have large spectral cogwheels appear behind you when you cast a spell, their new abilities are really cool to me. Restore Balance lets you cancel out advantage or disadvantage for anything you see in 60 feet. That could be huge! Better yet, you can use it multiple times between long rests. I also really like the Trance of Order feature that lets you enter “a state of clockwork consciousness,” and anything you roll under a 10 becomes a 10 as well as enemies can’t get advantage against you. This is really cool to me. The question is, would this overwrite the guaranteed failure of a natural 1?

What’s your favorite thing about the new Unearthed Arcana?

This STAR WARS General Grievous Cosplay Is Stunning

General Grievous may have been a bit of a dud in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, but in Clone Wars (2003-2004) and The Clone Wars (2008-2014 and coming soon to Disney+) he was a force to be reckoned with. He hunted Jedi, took their lightsabers after killing them, and was a force to be reckoned with. Well, Wicked Armor has created an absolutely stunning cosplay for the cyborg general. By keeping their body in the cape, Grievous becomes more of a puppet, and it’s stunning.
