VFX Artists React To and Discuss TRON and TRON: LEGACY

We’ve got a great new VFX Artists React video from Corridor Crew that TRON fans are going to want to watch! In this latest episode, Wren, Niko, and Sam break down and discuss the original 1982 TRON, and the 2010 sequel TRON: Legacy. They also compare the elements of the two films like the lightcycles and recognizers.

The video offers some pretty cool insight into how these classic films were brought to life. It’s crazy to learn about the insanely tedious work that was put into creating the effects for the original film. It’s enough to drive a person mad!

The Batman will tell a dark noir-style film that will lean into Batman in his detective mode. Reeves said that it’s going to tell a deep and psychological story. This will be a “year two” story for Batman that acknowledges his origin and how it’s still something that he’s “majorly struggling” with.

There will be a series of murders and crimes that start taking place in Gotham and as Batman investigates those things, they begin to reveal the darkness of Gotham City to him. It’s also been said that this is a character-driven story that will focus on the relationship between Bruce Wayne and Alfred Pennyworth.

When talking about the story, Reeves said:

“The idea is that we’re in Year Two. It’s the Gotham experiment, it’s a criminal… experiment he’s trying to figure out what he can do that can finally change this place. In our story, he’s in that mode that’s where you meet him and you see that he is charting what he’s doing and it seems that he’s not having any of the effect that he wants to have yet and that is when the murders start to happen and then the murders begin to describe sort of the history of Gotham in a way that only reinforces what he knows about constant. It opens up a whole new world of corruption that went much farther.”

The film also stars Zoe Kravitz as Cat Woman, Andy Serkis as Alfred, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/The Riddler, Jeffery Wright as Jim Gordon, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone and Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson. Gil Perez-Abraham (Orange is the New Black), Charlie Carver (Teen Wolf), and Max Carver have also been cast in undisclosed roles. It’s so cool to finally see many of these characters in action!

The Batman is now scheduled to hit theaters on October 1, 2021.

F9: THE FAST SAGA Released Date Pushed Back Again

The release date of director Justin Lin’s F9: The Fast Saga has been pushed back again and we can all thank the release date chance for No Time To Die for that.

We recently learned that No Time To Die was pushed back to April 2nd, 2021. That happened to be the same release date of F9, so Universal Pictures was like “screw that!” and they decided to push back the release of F9 to May 28th, 2021.

F9 stars Vin Diesel, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Cena, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, Cardi B, and Ozuna. Here’s the official description:

No matter how fast you are, no one outruns their past. Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena, next year’s The Suicide Squad).’

F9 sees the return of Justin Lin as director, who helmed the third, fourth, fifth and sixth chapters of the series when it transformed into a global blockbuster. The action hurtles around the globe—from London to Tokyo, from Central America to Edinburgh, and from a secret bunker in Azerbaijan to the teeming streets of Tblisi. Along the way, old friends will be resurrected, old foes will return, history will be rewritten, and the true meaning of family will be tested like never before.

This movie is sure to be a blast! I just wish we didn’t have to wait so damn long to see it!
