Sean Bean Joins the Second Season of TNT SNOWPIERCER Series

Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones) is joining Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs in the second season of TNT’s series adaptation of Snowpiercer. While Season 1 doesn’t premiere until spring of 2020, production on Season 2 is already underway.

The story is set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, and it “centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a 1001 car, perpetually-moving train that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation based on the acclaimed movie and graphic novel series of the same name.”

There are no details on who Bean will be playing in the series, but he will also join Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Susan Park, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand, and Jaylin Fletcher.

Bean is always a great actor to have on board a project. He always brings something powerful to his performances, and I hope that this ends up being a good project for him where he’s not killed off.

Snowpiercer is produced by Tomorrow Studios along with CJ Entertainment, who produced the original film. The series is executive produced by Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements; showrunner Graeme Manson, who wrote the first episode; director James Hawes; Matthew O’Connor; Scott Derrickson, and the original film’s producers Bong Joon Ho, Miky Lee, Tae-sung Jeong, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun and Dooho Choi.

I’m looking forward to this series and I hope that it turns out to be good.
