We’ve got a full trailer to share with you today for the upcoming sci-fi thriller Code 8, which comes from Stephen Amell (Arrow) and his cousin Robbie Amell (The Flash). They launched a Kickstarter a few years ago to get the movie made, and it looks like the director of the film, Jeff Chan, ended up making a pretty awesome flick! I’m looking forward to checking it out.
The new trailer features a lot of cool new footage, gives us our best look yet at what the story will entail, and who the characters are that fill the story. Here’s the synopsis:
Code 8 is set in a world where 4% of the population is born with varying supernatural abilities, but rather than be billionaires or superheroes, most “specials” face discrimination, live in poverty and often resort to crime.
That leaves Connor Reed, played by The Flash star Robbie Amell, as a powerful young man struggling to pay for his ailing mother’s medical treatment. To earn money, he joins a criminal world led by Garrett, played by Arrow star Stephen Amell.
The movie also stars Fast and Furious actor Sung Kang, who plays the head of a militarized police unit in the story. The movie will be released on December 13th, 2019.
