Pre-Purchase DRAGON QUEST BUILDERS 2 Now for Nintendo Switch

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is coming out this year and fans can head on over to the Nintendo eShop to pre-purchase it right now. The game won’t launch until July 12, but that doesn’t mean fans aren’t raring to reserve a copy to get some in-game bonuses on launch that are described to me as “special.”

To stop the worshippers of an ancient evil, you must join forces with the mysterious Malroth and build a ravaged world into the realm of your dreams. In this RPG adventure, you’ll explore huge islands, gather and craft with materials, design towns, level them up, and defend them from monsters and bosses alongside townspeople. As you progress, you’ll unearth crafting and building recipes. Dash, glide, explore underwater, fast travel, and play in optional first-person perspective as you try to find them all. In the Isle of Awakening, you and up to three other Builders can explore together in local wireless*; or play online** together too.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 will have some DLC available as well and I’m sure many of you are already groaning at that. Well, one DLC pack will be free when it launches on July 26. The other three packs will cost $9.99 or $5.99 depending on the pack, or you can get all three as a season pass for a mere $20.99, and will be available on July 26, August 2, and August 9.

  • Knickknack Pack (July 26, Free) – This free pack includes three recipes to create a Pretty Paddle, Celebratory Soup and Ornate Adornment so players can celebrate every New Year with some Hotto flair.

  • Hotto Stuff Pack (July 26, $5.99) – This pack includes more than 40 recipes to design and decorate structures that look similar to The Hotto Steppe – a popular resting area in a distant land where visitors take a sweat break from their weary travels. Players will also get access to an additional island to gather material that they’ll need to build these recipes.

  • Aquarium Pack (Aug. 2, $9.99) – Check the mailbox on the Isle of Awakening to discover a fishing island with a net full of quests and characters to meet. Learn how to catch 40 different fish that can be added to a DIY aquarium. Unlock the fishing rod as well as customization options, including swimwear, straw hats and a ponytail hairstyle.

  • Modernist Pack (Aug. 9, $9.99) – This pack includes more than 70 different recipes to construct modern-looking structures, as well as additional hairstyles and clothing. Players can take their architectural skills to the next level by building a fashionable luxury hotel.

If you’ve heard about the new Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers (it costs $99.99 and you must have a Nintendo Online subscription), Dragon Quest Builders 2 is eligible for purchase via the vouchers. Are you excited for Dragon Quest Builders 2?
