Fantastic Trailer For BBC’s Upcoming Adaptation of H.G. Well’s THE WAR OF THE WORLDS

The BBC has released a trailer for their upcoming three-part series adaptation of H.G. Well’s classic alien invasion novel, The War of the Worlds. This looks like a fantastically authentic take on the story that the fans should enjoy. I’m actually really impressed by what I’m seeing in this trailer and love the style, tone, and time period that it’s set in. I especially like the design of the three-legged machines.

The series stars Eleanor Tomlinson, Rafe Spall, and Robert Carlyle, and the tense and thrilling drama follows “a young couple’s race for survival against escalating terror of an alien enemy beyond their comprehension.” Here’s the synopsis:

Set in Edwardian England, this new adaptation of H.G. Wells’ seminal tale – the first alien invasion story in literature – follows George (played by Rafe Spall) and his partner Amy (Eleanor Tomlinson) as they attempt to defy society and start a life together. Rupert Graves is Frederick, George’s elder brother, and Robert Carlyle plays Ogilvy, an astronomer and scientist. The War of the Worlds tells their story as they face the escalating terror of an alien invasion, fighting for their lives against an enemy beyond their comprehension.

The War of the Worlds limited series was adapted by Peter Harness and directed by award-winning director Craig Viveiros. Watch the trailer below and tell us if you like what you see! I definitely plan on watching this series!
