Kevin Costner Reveals Part 3 of His Western Film Series HORIZON: AN AMERICAN SAGA Has Started Production

Kevin Costner serves as co-writer, director and star of the upcoming western film series Horizon: An American Saga, which kicks off in theaters next month.

The first film will be released on June 28th, and the second film, which was shot concurrently, will hit theatres less than two months later on August 16th.

While the third film in the four-movie arc doesn’t yet have a release date, it’s one step closer this week, as Costner has announced the movie has officially headed into production.

Costner shared to photos from the set of the film featuring himself with cast members on horses against a backdrop of a desert and a body of water. He said in the post:

“Back on the ground working on [Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 3]. Hard to believe that Part 1 will be in theaters in less than a month now. I hope you’ll go and see what we’ve put together for you.”

Costner has really put everything into these movies, diving into production on the third film before the first is even released. Hopefully the films tell a compelling story, and it all works out for Costner and for fans. Check out the post below:

Horizon: An American Saga chronicles “a multi-faceted, 15-year span of pre-and post-Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West. Experienced through the eyes of many, the epic journey is fraught with peril and intrigue from the constant onslaught of natural elements to the interactions with the Indigenous peoples who lived on the land and the determination and at many times ruthlessness of those who sought to settle it.”

The film’s cast includes Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Jamie Campbell Bower, Luke Wilson, Thomas Haden Church, Jena Malone, Michael Rooker, Alejandro Edda, Will Patton, and Tatanka Means.
