A collection of new images has been released for Deadpool & Wolverine, and they offer a new look at the Time Variance Authority, Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine, and Emma Corrin’s villainous Cassandra Nova.
The photos feature Wade Wilson’s birthday party, Deadpool ready to battle in a snowy forest, Deadpool having some fun in the TVA, a new shot of Deadpool with Logan, and more.
There’s also a shot of Deadpool and Mr. Paradox, and in the background, on a monitor, it shows the Sacred Timeline branching uncontrollably.
There’s also a fun behind the scenes photo of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman suited up alongside director Shawn Levy.
When talking about the story he wanted to tell, Reynolds said: “The story I was writing is a bit about survivor’s guilt, and friendship, and what that meant. And I think a bit of middle-aged ennui as well, as sexy as that is.”
When talking about the villain of the story, he said: “They don’t play the character like a villain, and that’s the kind of villain I love, … A villain who has real grounded and nuanced convictions.”
In the film, “After facing some professional setbacks while going through a midlife crisis. Wade Wilson decides to officially retire Deadpool and becomes a used car salesman.
“But when his friends, family, and the whole world are at stake, Deadpool decides to bring his katanas out of retirement. He recruits an unwilling and wary Wolverine to not only fight for their survival but ultimately, their legacy.”
It’s also explained: “That f–king irresponsible hero Deadpool will change the history of the MCU with Wolverine!?”
The rest of the confirmed cast for the movie includes Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic as Vanessa and Colossus, Matthew Macfadyen as a TVA Agent, and Leslie Uggams as Blind Al.
They are joined by Brianna Hildebrand and Shioli Kutsuna, who will also return to the franchise as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s girlfriend Yukio. It was previously confirmed that Jennifer Garner will return as Elektra in the movie.
It’s going to be really exciting to see who else shows up in the movie! There are so many characters rumored!
Deadpool & Wolverine will hit theaters on July 26th!
